everyone just read the pochahontas documentary or the movie with colin farrell "the new world" movie. they met, fell in love but he "vanished" so she married rolfe instead and had kids with him but journey to england she got sick and died.
wtf? Does he just leaves her at the end? I don't really remember the story so I can't tell, but if he does then that's fked up!! He should stay with her, or her with him! Was it just an afair?
@animeworldchick There is the second part to the movie but it's really shity. In the second part she goes to civilisation to prove that she is not a savage. She falls for another guy and yeahh I don't really remember how it ends but I think they should not have made the second part :D it kind of ruined everything. You should watch them yourself ;)
she married an english man name john something or other that lived in the new world; her name became Rebecca when she married I believe. And there are rumors that her real name is not pocahontas but something eles that only the tribe truly knows. My bf read it in one of his Native American History books.
You might be one of those people who want things to fall into place exactly like the events that happened. But let me tell you. This movie is SO much better than it would have been. Quite frankly, I'm glad they exaggerated things the way they did.
Not sure, but I think in this movie Disney showed more than just one kiss :D
..or well, the love of the two was to be seen throughout the movie and it was not all about just "yeah this final kiss and they lived happily ever after" that´s why THIS movie was so special... Beautiful, and heartbreaking..! :´) oh and- kind of real, well cause can you name just one Disney movie that could be -SOMEHOW- like real life...? huh...:)
@JacksSparrowsSweet agreed. this is probably the only Disney movie they don't live "happily ever after" or in the end they don't. John Smith doesn't die, which is good, but they are separated in the end
@swimmermusicluver well in my mind there isn't a second movie and after John smith got better he returned for her and they lived happily ever after, when i was little I thought it was implied, but now i know thats not what happened, but i like to think it was.
@JacksSparrowsSweet actually pocahontas were real, but Disney just changed the story for the children :) Shes not in love with john smith, she fell in love with John Rolfe and married him. John Smith just found her :)
@jachinuts i know,my friend :) ..i just..you know i think they shouldnt have made the love story of pocahonthas and john smith so wonderful if they were planning to make one of her with john rolfe later coz its taken away all the possible magic of the love...i know that in real life it was different, but a fairytale its just a fairytale and it was a beautful one until they made the ending in the second part so weird..it was rushed and i had this wtf moment:D they couldve thought more about it =/
I love this video cause it combined the two thing i really like so well. i do no either like pochontas 2 but its my expirence that sequalls are not so good as the original.
I loved the vid. I loved the movie too. The second movie was good but I hated that she fell in love with John Rolfe when she thought John Smith was dead.
In history her and John Rolfe really got married to keep peace and when she went to england she found out john Smith was alive but she refused to see him. I think it's because she was still in love with him. I know her and John Rolfe went to return to America but she either caught a fever or small pox. I can't remember. >:P
If I recall my history properly (though admittedly foggy), she was also about 12 when she met John Smith, and John Smith was well known for 'big fish' stories so it is possible she didn't actually fall for him. Of course, I am a hopeless romantic and prefer to believe that they fell in love. :)
Well in real history she never fell in love with john smith and she was married to an indian man who died in battle and afterwards she converted to christianity and married john rolfe. when she met john smith he was like in his late twenties, early thirties and she was barely 12 years old!
ohh my god this video almost brought tears to my eyes. to the person who made this you did an excellent job. wow i dont even know what to say just wow. i dont really get worked up emotionally on videos but this one really got to me. good work
*Lol well while we are talking about this i just know some of this from history but i watched this disney movie but ya plus when My teacher Mr.Zinni was talking to us about this in class i remeber the pic. & Pochatonas doesn't look anything from in the movie nor either john smith but that's the true part difference from disney so ya =)*
In the true story, Pocahontas falls in love with John Smith when she is only about 13 years old. Much happens before he returns to england without her and she finds out he is dead. She then goes to England and falls in love with John Rolfe, they have a child. When she meets John Smith again, they are still in love but she leaves him and returns back home with her new family when she is around 23. On the way home she catches a fever and dies.
I read in my history book that her and John Smith had nothing to do together. It was really her and John Rolfe. They only got married because her father and John Rolfe were trying to make peace. She does go to England and catches a fever which caused her to die
even though i think walt disney kind'a ruined the story, cuz it is based on a true story actually, but she died when she was like 23 or somthing.. love the song
@Starfire23104 she married an english man name john something or other that lived in the new world; her name became Rebecca when she married I believe. And there are rumors that her real name is not pocahontas but something eles that only the tribe truly knows. My bf read it in one of his Native American History books.
The real Pocahontas was only 12 when she met the real John Smith. They couldn't have been an item, so they didn't. It's still a hell of a Disney story, though
Yeah, she married John Rolfe, and she did actually meet John Smith when she was a teenager, but she never fell in love with him. Actually, John Smith was pretty old.
@TtotheShay your exactly right, it wasnt john smith it was john rolfe. john smith was the captain and leader of the second try at the colonies with his rule "if you dont work you dont eat" he was a very strict man. but it was john rolfe who was known to marry pocahontas. i like history ;-)
-Her birth name was Matoaka. Pocahontas was her nickname.
-She met John Smith when she was 10 or 11. He was taken captive by her father and when he came back, he reported that he was treated well. He didn't see fit to tell the story of her "saving his life" until years later, which is why his story has been disputed for many years.
-John Smith was injured on a barge while he was sleeping when some gunpowder exploded.
-He was sent back to England to recover. Pocahontas was told he was dead.
-She was well-known and admired in English society.
-She met John Smith again in England, and the first time she saw him, she couldn't speak. --Whether she was angry with him or just too overcome with emotion because she thought he was dead is unclear.
-She died on her way back to Virginia at the age of 21 or 22.
Hmm... I don't even like this movie (or, sorry, but a lot of the Disney "classics"), but I love Creed, and this is actually not a bad amv. I still like the actual music video better, but this is still pretty good.

A girl who was inferior barbarian became a white's friend and changing into happy civilized person...lol
there is no proof that she was yearning for and assimilated into positively culture of Europe.
It is completely distortion of the history that she and John are in love.
This is the most disgraceful hypocrisy propaganda movie in the human history
that justified brutal invasion.

-She would often visit the English settlement of Jamestown.
-She was taken captive and held for ransom for over a year.
-During her captivity, she met John Rolfe, a tobacco farmer.
-She was converted to Christianity, baptized, and christened "Rebecca."
-She married John Rolfe and had a son named Thomas Rolfe. This marriage helped garner peace between the Natives and the English for a while.
