  • This was Womad 2008 at Charlton Park, Malmesbury and I was there. Sharon Shannon wasn't taking over or trying to confuse him, she was trying to stop Shane from going backstage to have another drink. The rest of the performance was amazing. It was supposed to be a ceilidh but the tent was rammed like sardines. Fabulous times

  • I love being part irish! proud to say my ancestors came from Galway! true legends <3

  • Shes a fucking spa..everytime it was his que 2 sing she runs over 2 take the spotlight.. attention seeking much?

  • @DjCalliMixes Well, she wasn't sober...nor was Mac...nor, I fancy, was ANYONE on that bloody stage. At least not at the time they sang this diddy. BAIL O DHIA ORT !

  • Shane was pure drunk and got Joyce Redmond confused him and she is pretty drunk as well id dance with her any day of the week.... Shane your a legend the best

  • Aye Shane you missed yer chance to headbutt her...dat dress would look good in a pile on da floor...another shot o' the powers will do

  • If someone danced me around and didn't bring me back to the mic when I was due to come in I'd be annoyed, and so would my wife, LOL!

  • She is more pissed than shane.

  • I love you Shane, you're the Charles Bukowski of Ireland!

  • i,d pump th erse aff that lassie dancing aboot :)

  • HAHAHAHHAHAH SO WOULD I

  • Shane is better than this The red head lady continually confused him (and ok...he has had a few) but you do NOT treat an Irish and a Folk legend like a drunk. I and more than 4 million Irishmen love this man. You should too!

  • Not only the Irish love Shane, the Dutch love him too.

Who cares he had a few, I want a few Guinness myself when I hear Irish music!

    Cheers!

  • @dannyanddi Not just 4 million Irishmen and women but most 'lost' in the Irish diaspora. I'm 5th generation Australian but 'pure blood' Irish and learnt to be proud of it at me Mam's knees. You can take the Irish out of Ireland but..... Shane's word and the Pogues music has always hit straight in the heart. It's the 'family' band - the only wehen when we all get up pissed and dancing. And that's how we bond.

  • @dannyanddi I love his work.. I love his songs.. but he's still a drunken sod and I think it's really tragic to see a talent like this go down the whiskey and crystal meth drain. Hate me if you like.

  • I love that. Was there myself and loved Shane singing with the Sharon Shannon Band. He obviously enjoyed it very, very much.

  • Great stuff, Shane giving it his best despite not having a clue of the words!

  • shane was slaughtered. but the rendition of fairy tale of new york was great, in sweltering heat in a field, excellent.
