But my recommendation is really to use swype. It's infinitely better than this.

yea it might but only presets and you have to customize them on your computer at that. This has full customization on the device with many HZ DB and Khz settings. I don't know if this has BBE+ but even at that it can do way more than ipod.
I always thought about doing that, it would take a little work but it could be done, besides the newer one would be better suited to that due to FM receiver and GPS
Yeah plus its pretty bulky and it sucks if you doing exercise with it. I can't help but get in your way. I had to buy an Ipod 16gb... If I had to do it all over again I wouldn't buy it.

The main reason for typing with 1 hand is that the screen is not multitouch and you can find yourself hitting two letters at the same time which doesn't work. But two hands do fit very comfortably around the device and you can type with thumbs like you would on a mobile phone quite quickly.

The archos 5 is a huge improvement over the 605 so I'd recommend that. However archos is introducing new products at the moment so I'd wait around and see what they come up with!
ok, i already ordered the archos 605 wifi from amazon for 180$ with 80 GB. it will be here tommorow. im super excited, and im thinking instead of sending it back and spending more, ill just enjoy my new product ive been anticipating and get the 5 when its cheaper or get a vision 4 later. but is the archos 5 worth it. i dont care about looks, but i do care about screen performance and video
i baught 1 of these whit 250 gb for 300 at circuit city and the dvr station for 50 couldn;t belive it when i saw the total 380 bucks and to think that i was going to buyit online for so much more
Web versions of msn will work. Along with the official one there are many web messenger services that work. It's just a shame that archos doesnt let third parties develop for their stuff or I'm sure there would be a dedicated messenger app for it by now.
Mine is the 60gb one and I'm liking the slimness of it. I dont have loads and loads of music so the hdd is big enough but you might want to go for the bigger one if you do have lots. Also this thing plays flac now so if youre really into your music you might want the bigger one.
A review told me that the 60gb one is half an inch thick, and the 120 and 250 models are about 3/4 inch thick.
By the way, does the Archos 5 still support regular .swf files? I have the 605, and it has that feature, although it always tends to play .swf files very slowly. I hope the new 5 doesn't have that problem

Hey, you should download a flash version of Paint. It's pretty cool, you get to draw on Paint using a touch screen (I used the stylus).
Only had it about a week too. Thats how easy it is to get used to. Large screen makes so much sense as opposed to the iphone's screen. More space for typing. No zooming required to read text on the internet.

250 is about twice the size as the 60 I believe. But, yes, I have the 250 gig, and it's amazing. I'm just now downloading some flash apps for it :D

Yeah you can definitely use a stylus. Most of the time you dont need one but some internet links appear quite small so its nice to have one.
