DT Winnipeg is now a place for all the drunk natives to hangout and attack people.
Downtown Winnipeg was a great place back in the 80's, but once Portage Place opened it killed the wonderful atmosphere. Oh well Winnipeg is going to the dogs that last time I was there. They should just turn it into another reserve. Sorry to be so negitive, but I use to love this city and now I am so made at how it was destroyed by the natives.
Downtown wasn't that great in 1986, but it was easier to pretend that it was than it is now. I seem to remember that someone in the Free Press at the time made fun of the fogging equipment on the helicopter.

I have an uncle who used to work as a bank manager of the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce in Eaton Place, way back in the day!

When downtown Winnipeg *didn't* suck. Lots of middle-class people shopped downtown.
