Theoretically, could one human record it in separate parts - say, by playing all the notes that fall within a particular octave, then the next octave, then the next and so on, and then combine them together? Assuming a full size keyboard, it should be possible in 8 recordings or less (since there are around 8 octaves). Then use some video editing to show you playing all 8 videos at the same time (each video in its own little box).
@xan1242 Ha, no you don't! if you want a piano that will actually play itself, get a player piano. The keys actually go up and down:) that, and they sound better and are less expensive to buy.
It has never been recorded a real person playing the entire song in it's full version, at least not to my knowledge. Technically, it shouldn't be possible because at many times there are far more than 10 notes playing at a time, over a spawn far large than any person could reach with their fingers. It's also far to fast.
The piece, when it was written, was never meant to actually be playable. It was just to see how obscene a composition could be made for piano.
@MrZer000 Sure. I don't see why not. If the parts were well divided it could be done. I wouldn't think a duet would do, though. I haven't looked through the sheet music but I think there are still times where it might not work.
I would love to see if this could ever be preformed live at all, whether it be by 2, 3, or an orchestra of people.
how did you install a recording software on your potato?

@HeavenStar4849 That's because it's not a player piano, it only plays audio files through the speakers.
