@kremeroxoner I wouldn't even take easy seriously..... Unfortunately that whole gangster rap scene in the late 80s tarnished everybody's perception of west coast hip hop.... Its such a shame... I felt that same experience listening to 7th seal the first time.... That guitar sample will go down in history as one of the best uses of sampling period.... Whoever had the ear ( DJ Killu or J sumbi) is a genius for chosing it to accompany one of the greatest rappers ever, Mikah 9. Same for Acey!
@kremeroxoner I do agree that the Fellowship was the 1st and fastest with the speed rapping/singing, but Myka 9 and FF were more jazzy influencing groups like Pharcyde, Tribe Called Quest, Digable Planets. etc. Bone style was more based on dancehall reggae style singing. But Myka is one of the greatest MC's of all time tho....

What amazes me is how when Jurassic 5 came out with what to my ears sounds like a watered down simplified version of early FF, years later, everyone seemed to think they were great. Not trying to start an argument , but, I suppose they will always be ahead of their time.

But on the topic of J5 and FF; there's some old Unity Committee Party tape (that you can find on youtube) and Mikah 9 comes and freestyles for a solid 10 minutes. You can see Chali jamming to it and I think he starts to spit at some point and it sounds a lot like he's trying to imitate Mikah...then the cops come.
Haiku D'Etat was in some Tony Hawk games. Also, back in October Mykah 9 hugged me up in Seattle; best moment of my life.
