  • go to the post office and find out how much it will cost you to send "item A" and weigh it there, the post office have a list of costs to post in the UK and abroad,

  • Go to a hardware shop and buy cheap kitchen scales, they should be good enough, and a steel tape measure should do it.

  • Go to the post office ask for their book on postage rates. That will tell you the weights and sizes that are allowed. Selling lots of different items means that you will have to weigh and measure each item individually, and when you do get round to posting the item, make sure you get a receipt which will compensate you to £30, otherwise offer insurance as well, the book should tell you that too. Then read the ebay guidelines, they are helpful.
