  • Technically a lot of these aren't the fight songs of the particular school. At Illinois our fight song is "Oskewowwow". "Illinois Loyalty" played here is our school song. (We also have an Alma Mater.) I believe this "Carmen, Ohio" is the school song or maybe the Alma Mater of OSU. I'm not sure how an Iowan would classify this "Corn Song" (no comment), but we sang a much more manly number, that started "We're gonna fight, fight, fight for Iowa" in our Big Ten Medley.

  • @Baritone45 The Iowa Corn Song was mistakenly used as our fight song before the Iowa Fight Song was written by Merideth Willson.

  • Very cool instrumental by "The Royal Canadians". I especially like the artwork of the old programs. Has anybody seen the choral "Big Ten Medley" like the one sung by the Illinois Varsity Men's Glee Club?

  • Great unusual Lombardo record! Was this on both sides of a 10 inch 78? Love your collection of football posters and programs from the 20s too. Perfect! I have a similar college fight song medley by Coon Sanders that they broadcast over the radio in 1929. Its poor sound quality though. But shows how big college football was back then. Thanks for posting this rare record! Go Illinois!

  • @2reeler Hey!, I'm formerly from Illinois. Yes, that was both sides of a 10" disc. Thanks for your comments!

  • @bsgs98 If you're from Illinois, you're from Illinois. How can you be formerly from someplace, unless you've changed your own history? Besides, once an Illini, always an Illini!

  • Great collection of football memorabilia.

    Thanks for the upload.

  • a great number !! 5*****
