@lebkha It is the coronation anthem composed by George Frideric Handel - "Zadok the Priest" using texts from the King James Bible. It is one of the four Coronation Anthems that Handel composed for the coronation of George II of Great Britain in 1727 and has been sung at every subsequent British coronation service. It is traditionally performed during the sovereign's anointing. [from Wikipedia]
I have only watched a little over 2 minutes and I have already gave it a thumbs up. I love well presented documentaries about Great Britain and the Medieval world. Thank you for posting. If you should have anymore that you haven't posted please do so. Again thank you.
Thank you so very much for posting this series! I was able to see the illuminated manuscripts that were part of the fine British Library's "Sacred" exhibition in 2007. I was amazed at the power, richness and clarity of the colors and images of the manuscripts. Does anyone know if this series would be available for U.S. viewing on DVD?
what's the name of the symphony in the beginning?
