He got out when he wanted. To even do this industry you love Wrestling. He does love it. He just wasnt willing to kill his body in later years and felt he could continue hos career and entertain as an actor. I know this feeling. I Love Breakdancing, did it every day of the week, 5 years, then College came, and I didnt want to do it, time consuming, Bones were hurting, but I knew I also wanted to be able to be a teacher and not feel like crap when doing it.
