I strongly recommend a review of Bucky O'hare for the NES, that game came out in like 1992 and was completely overlooked. Not only that but it was modeled after megaman and showcases some of the best graphics on the 8-bit hardware, and like ducktales it was also a cartoon licenced game that kicked ass. But if ya already have that one planned id also recommend Crystalis. Thats a solid hack n slash RPG that got extreamly overlook on the NES.

Here is my argument. Unlike Crono Trigger, this game despite being ridiculously famous amongst old school gamers has become something of a shadow to FF VII.
We all know this, as RPG fans that this has occured. To be honest, people NEED to know WHY FF VI is better. People "get it" that the story is cool, that the game has a lot of characters... but they just don't know it.

my suggestion is a game for the ps1 called ''the unholy war'' it was a strategy game and a 3D fighter set in a sci-fi world... THAT KICKED ASS! it was so sweet, i wish there was words to describe how awesome it was, i feel it is a very over-rated game for its time, and i too tried mentioning it in discussions and no one seems to of heard of it
To avoid reviewing overrated video games, look at Top Ten great games lists. What I believe you should review is a Game Boy game. Why? Despite the handheld being the most successful handheld, most Game Boy games are overlooked, due to home console gaming having superior graphics and stuff. What game for it? Well, Mole Mania. Otherwise, go with Balloon Fight's sequel, Balloon Kid, which was colored and remade for Japan-only release as Balloon Fight GB. I wrote the Wikipedia article about it.
I'm having trouble choosing which game I want you to review. If you want to stay old school, then I recommend Rockin' Kats for the NES. Your main weapon is an extendo-glove that lets you swing on objects and punch enemies in the face. It doesn't get cooler than that!
If you don't mind doing a Sega CD game, then Lunar: The Silver Star is my next choice. I'm sure Earthbound is great and all, but at least people know about it. Lunar is probably the most underrated RPG series of all time.
A couple of obscure titles come to mind... Balloon Kid on the original Gameboy, still fun to play to this day and full of challenge, and Felix the Cat for the NES, which is a surprisingly well done clone of SMB3.
Here's a question, Are you going to try and cover some of the good games from the n64 and playstation era? I know a good deal of them I enjoy to this day and I see a lot of game reviewers stick to nes-snes genesis sega cd on up are hardly touched upon at least to my knowledge. I'm pretty sure those consoles in the mid to late 90's had diamonds in the rough that not many people know as well.
Oh yeah: my vote is also for the first Wild Arms. It's not that obscure to a lot of RPG players and fans, but not many other people have played the series before it hit the PS2 with WA3.

name's ginga fukei densetsu sapphire, for the turbografx. very colorful, fun shoot'em up, and there's even some 3D (on an 8-bit console, should i remind you)
why not give us a detailed background of what inspired you to be the happy nerd to begin with. I'd like to see some emulation reviews for old SNES games that existed but never crossed the pond, games like Seiken Densetsu 3(Secret of Mana 2), the Sailor Moon arcade-style beat-em-ups, or whatever.
It would be great if you brought attention to THE great cult classic of the 32-bit era: Panzer Dragoon Saga. Then again its rarity and ridiculously high cost are a bit intimidating, so I can understand why you wouldn't bit if you don't already own it. But while we're on the same era, how about Tomba!? Aside from being easier to find, it remains one of the most unique and original games ever. Seriously, who would have thought of a non-linear 2D-platformer/RPG could actually work?

I think having Guardian Heroes, Tomba, and Einhander on YouTube would work better as they are pretty major titles to review and plus Tomba and Einhander are PS1 games and HVGN hasn't done PS1 games yet

Hi I would love to see a review of Solar jetman on the NES which is a true forgotten gem!! It has unique game play starting a 'collect 'em up' genre all of it's own, with some of the most atmospheric music on the NES, huge levels and challenging game play. I love this game and you just never see it in any of the top NES game lists ever!

my suggestion is a game for the ps1 called ''the unholy war'' it was a strategy game and a 3D fighter set in a sci-fi world... THAT KICKED ASS! it was so sweet, i wish there was words to describe how awesome it was, i feel it is a very over-rated game for its time, and i too tried mentioning it in discussions and no one seems to of heard of it

To avoid reviewing overrated video games, look at Top Ten great games lists. What I believe you should review is a Game Boy game. Why? Despite the handheld being the most successful handheld, most Game Boy games are overlooked, due to home console gaming having superior graphics and stuff. What game for it? Well, Mole Mania. Otherwise, go with Balloon Fight's sequel, Balloon Kid, which was colored and remade for Japan-only release as Balloon Fight GB. I wrote the Wikipedia article about it.

I'm having trouble choosing which game I want you to review. If you want to stay old school, then I recommend Rockin' Kats for the NES. Your main weapon is an extendo-glove that lets you swing on objects and punch enemies in the face. It doesn't get cooler than that!
If you don't mind doing a Sega CD game, then Lunar: The Silver Star is my next choice. I'm sure Earthbound is great and all, but at least people know about it. Lunar is probably the most underrated RPG series of all time.

A couple of obscure titles come to mind... Balloon Kid on the original Gameboy, still fun to play to this day and full of challenge, and Felix the Cat for the NES, which is a surprisingly well done clone of SMB3.

Here's a question, Are you going to try and cover some of the good games from the n64 and playstation era? I know a good deal of them I enjoy to this day and I see a lot of game reviewers stick to nes-snes genesis sega cd on up are hardly touched upon at least to my knowledge. I'm pretty sure those consoles in the mid to late 90's had diamonds in the rough that not many people know as well.

It would be great if you brought attention to THE great cult classic of the 32-bit era: Panzer Dragoon Saga. Then again its rarity and ridiculously high cost are a bit intimidating, so I can understand why you wouldn't bit if you don't already own it. But while we're on the same era, how about Tomba!? Aside from being easier to find, it remains one of the most unique and original games ever. Seriously, who would have thought of a non-linear 2D-platformer/RPG could actually work?

so I've thought about it and I think Pulseman for the Genesis seems like the perfect choice to have for a DVD-only review
I think having Guardian Heroes, Tomba, and Einhander on YouTube would work better as they are pretty major titles to review and plus Tomba and Einhander are PS1 games and HVGN hasn't done PS1 games yet

Previously I recommended the adventure island series...
I must replace with / add: SHADOWRUN for the SNES, one of the best RPGs for the console, and as far as I know not THAT well known. and I will now break the rules again, and say: the Mystical Ninja series :O (Nes games are average imo, but the snes games, and especially the quirky n64 games are truly awesome). <--- tip for a retrospective-ish thing.

A game that you should review: How about a Final Fight game? That series isn't as well known as Street Fighter... or the first F-Zero?

Hi I would love to see a review of Solar jetman on the NES which is a true forgotten gem!! It has unique game play starting a 'collect 'em up' genre all of it's own, with some of the most atmospheric music on the NES, huge levels and challenging game play. I love this game and you just never see it in any of the top NES game lists ever!
