Another thing to take into account is that the smaller cars get pushed back farther...so they could be pushed into other lanes of traffic and hit again

The Yaris looked like a crushed matchbox car after that extreme crash, the Honda Fit looked like it did somewhat good, but the Smart looked the most intact in the roofline and the door despite the fact it got hit in an extreme crash test with a Mercedes Benz twice it's size. Bottom line, if people were not so distracted at the wheel, there would not be stupid accidents like those demonstrated. This test also came out in the midst of the big threes troubles striking fear in motorists.

lol i think these crashes were all too violent for the smaller cars, The yaris looked destroyed, the fit seemed maybe the best. But we do have to give props to the smart.. the door was STILL in most good condition meaning the steel frame does help the little one in something of this severity. Does the body survive this kind of crash? well i think all 6 car occupants would have had to go to hospital. Small and Midsize vehicles.. 80mph combined speeds.. thats just too much

The solution to the crashing problem is to #1 stop playing with the radio while you drive. #2 Stop talking on the cell phone. #3 Stop taking your eyes off the road. #4 Stop speeding. All of those are within YOUR CONTROL. You voluntarily decide to do these problems which causes a car crash. It's not an "accident" it's a "crash". Crashes can be avoided, accidents can't. So just pay attention and you won't be a statistic.

650,000 miles of driving and all of these methods have worked for me. I've yet to ever have or even come close to an accident. It's hard to crash a car when you pay attention to the road and drive the way the law says.
