  • this should be on kids react.:) GIVE ME THUMBS IF YOU AGREE!:)

  • Blessed~For sure!!!

  • Try also the Finnish version by searching for "Kalevi Paskaperse" in Youtube!

  • the melody kinda sounds like the song Sara Jessica Parker sings in Hocus Pocus, like the first part. o.o

  • @ThanagarianTragedy I was just thinking the same.

  • I prefer Dick Van Dyke as Bert. Even with the ridiculous accent, he made the character amazing.

But I think Gavin Creel is really amazing too. When I first saw videos of him playing Bert, I was blown away!

  • Does anyone remember that movie- im pretty sure it was animated, and it was from a while back of course, and i can only remember a tiny part of the movie..

I think it involved a girl and she was riding on a humongous alligator/crocodile and he was singing and thy were underground.. I only remember that one specific part of the movie, nothing else.. So if any one can understand what im saying or you know what im talking about- Please comment back!

  • @MCroxxie14 Sounds like "All Dogs Go to Heaven." Search for "Let's Make Music Together" here on youtube and I think that is the scene you are thinking about.

  • This version makes the song sound so sad... I love it.

  • Ohgoodness I wanna see it live o.o

  • I freaked when I heard/saw that Gavin Creel was Bert..... My favorite character, an amazing singer..... :DD

  • Dick Van Dyke's accent has so corrupted my memories of this song that a proper British one just sounds wrong.

  • @thevampirefrog06 It's MEANT to be a proper British one you idiot -_- Dick Van Dyke just couldn't do it right.

  • @boffinme80 I KNOW Dick Van Dyke couldn't do it properly. That's why I said his accent had "corrupted" my memories... I know his accent's terrible but I spent so much time growing up with it that now it's what I expect, despite it being wrong.

  • @thevampirefrog06 Okay. Sorry I misunderstood

  • @boffinme80 Thanks. :)

  • I love this videos !!!!!!

  • dick van dyke and julie andrews were made to sing together -.-

  • meh, Julie Andrews was so much more beautiful and Dick van Dyke will always be Bert in my heart. And no one can beat the crisp golden sound of Julie's voice either.

  • I think I prefer this soundtrack to the original...

  • or blow me a kiss and that's lucky too (;

  • mary poppins rule so much i am such a big fan she is so coll and ive watched all of her music vidieos!

  • nobody can beat dick van dyke and julie andrews :)

  • This actor has more of a real cockney accent, but for me dick van dike is the only burt!

  • This is BEAUTIFUL - perfect voices! Too bad the flutes are so loud they drown out the voices at times.

  • awesome and funny

  • I love mary poppins!!!

Quando era criança assistia quase todos os dias, e agora meu filho pode assistir.

  • saw this in New York, now i am going to be Jane in it

  • hardly no night hardly no night :?

  • i saw this in chicago and wow it was AWESOME. im so happy i went

  • She has a similar voice to Julie Andrews, of course I prefer Julie's as the classic version. But great job to Lisa!

  • How nice the sound so mysterious and time-less song I'm loving this song since I was childhood! I want to watch the movie again!

  • I just watched it again, it made me cry. D:

  • yh! the musical rocks!!! it was so much funn!! besides, it's much closer to the books- if you've read them. Jane and Michael aren't meant to be so sugary sweet and Mary's supposed to be sterner and Bert is meant to sound as if he comes from london!!

  • Was there ever a cast recording of Mary Poppins with Gavin Creel? Or just the one with Gavin Lee? Though I much prefer the movie to the stage musical, I do really love this version of the song, as well as certain other songs. I do not like the new songs though.

  • Unfortunately, the only recording avaible is Gavin Lee.

  • @blackpython

Why don't you like the new songs?

I disagree with you. I like this better than the movie.

  • oh.......the times

  • OMG, Been 47 yrars and I never missed a beat! Knew every word. Is the song wonderful? Course, it is. Is the song great, course it is, Is the song magical? You tell me. I'm 55 years old and feel exactly as I did when I first saw this film at 8 years old. Sheer magic!!!!!

  • I love the play AND the movie, separately. I can't decide which is better, so they both are! ^_^

  • Au contrare, I find that the broadway musical songs are always more melodical and much nicer to the musician's ear.

  • anyone know where i can get an audio or video for this?

  • There is one video avaible of Gavin, to my knowledge. I have a copy. Trade for it? :)

  • sure XD

  • LOL! :)

  • I remember when I was younger and my mother was singing this and I couldn't get it out of my head! It's quite catchy.

  • I don't know where I got it from, but it has been in my heart for more than 40 years...(it definitely wasn't my mother singing)

  • wenn hier jeder in seiner Sprache schreibt muss ich ja auch mal Senf dazu geben

  • nett von Dir, 707430

  • esto es mágico!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this is so random

  • Gavin is amazing!

  • @Springaer ---Thankyou! lol

  • I saw this musical in chicago and i thought it was pretty good. This i think was my favorite song. Its catchy!

  • That's why this song won the Academy Award for best song when the movie first came out!

  • Dick van Dyke was born to be bert :p

  • You're joking, his accent is appalling.

  • @ellenhoudtvaniemand No No No the worst cockney accent ever heard on screen

  • @ellenhoudtvaniemand Sorry. I think Gavin Lee is better simply because his voice is correct. It actually sounds English. Dick Van Dyke is a good actor but his accent was annoying. In other films he was good just not Mary Poppins as to why he didn't win an Oscar, Julie won it. It's not his fault but that's what happened. I think they should have casted Michael Crawford as Bert back when the film was made.

  • Gavin is amazing!!! You would never know he's American! Brilliant!

  • Awesome song.

  • In my mind, there is a mystery. The mystery is like the music scale of Chim Chim Cheree.

  • I also went to see it in manchester, and lisa was mary but gavin creel isnt in the uk tour it was daniel crossley :)

  • Saw this in Manchester in Januarythis year with Lisa and Gavin - It was amazing!! Would definitely go again!! :D

  • Odd how the Bert in London is Gavin Creel and the Bert in Chicago is Gavin Lee... and both sound amazing.

  • I saw this in Cardiff it AMAZING

  • me to wasn`t it fab

  • Yeaahh :) add me as a matee

  • i think mary poppins is the best movie next to sound of music

  • i agree!!!

  • i love evey movie with Julie Andrews

  • OMG! A real masterpiece! This song brings me so many memories.

  • I know!! totally a masterpiece!! the original!!

  • im doing this song using chimes it sounds so cool =3 no singing tho :(

  • realy great!!

  • i know =)

  • xDD okaay sry... i don´t see your comment!

  • great

  • maravilhoso

  • i saw this in manchester and lisa o hare as a fantastic voice!!!!!!!!!!

  • i saw this in new york last year and ashley brown is INCREDIBLE! I saw plenty of musicals that week but none were anywhere near as good as her voice

  • chim chiminey chim chiminey chim chim cheree, this song is so awesome expecialy to me!

  • i seen this one the same production in manchester

  • yep, just came back from The Palace Theatre in Manchester, from Mary Poppins :D absolutely amazing!!!

  • Es verdad

  • which version of this show is better? london or broadway?

  • I saw it on broadway and it was plain awesome

  • Okay. So I understand where all the fangirling/boying over Dick Van Dyke is coming from. He was amazing, true. But we can't compare Gavin Creel to him. Dick did his thing. And Gavin's doing his. I think Gavin's doing an incredible job (plus he's Gavin Creel and can do no wrong in my eyes. Heh). He's a beautiful singer/actor. This is a lovely renditionof Chim Chim Cheree.

  • yo fui aver este musical, mas bonito ncerio veanlo s una pasada :D

  • This was much near to the book quite dark but wonderful and at last a real cockney accent sorry Dick Van Dyke but how you ever got cast I'll never know - from a Londoner

  • I love Van Dyke, but I agree. I cringed every time he spoke.

  • i would love to see this on broad way! it sounds even better then the movie!

  • This song makes me so sad.

  • its chimchimmeni

  • its chimchimmeni chimchimmeni X2, chim chim cheree

  • no offense to gavin, but gavin lee, is lil bttr bert lol but gavin is awsome to

  • Dick Van Dyke rules!

  • its not dick van dyk, its gavin lee... fool.

  • I know. I'm just saying Dick Van Dyke rules.

  • Right on! Gavin's authentic cockney accent just takes away the magic; whereas Dicks' Aussie-Irish-English-Yank hybrid has gone down in legend, especially for us real English people.

  • Americans can't even get the accents of other Americans right (not to mention many of the Brits, and Aussies who are often cast as Americans) so we might as well let Americans mess up other people's accents every once in a while. Not that it matters... Americans buy most of the tickets for American movies and most of us have never heard a real cockney accent and unfortunately Dick Van Dyke would have put more American butts in the seats than someone with a real accent that they'd never heard of.

  • it's Gavin Creel actually. lol by the time this came out, Gavin Lee was all ready over here with us on Broadway. lol

  • der sound könnte besser sein

  • omg i met gavin creel because mt friend plays micheal banks!!! HES SOOO COOL! and really good at bert!

  • love this video and the soundtrack is great..........did you use a dictaphone or a mobile to record this please?

  • i was in a play for marry poppins

  • i realy like gavin but isn't his last name lee? just wondering.

  • Gavin Lee is on Broadway as Bert. This was the London production with Gavin Creel, they're both fabulous in the role.

  • Yeah I thought it was Lee! xx

  • GAvin is so great. I really want ot do him.

  • my most faviurite

  • sretan rodjendan Poppinseeeeeee

  • I love this movie when I was a kid

  • watched it last nite.superb!2 thumbs up.

  • From what oppostieofwar says, how come Pamela Travers( author of Mary Poppins books) refused to giv the rights to Disney?

  • because she was a difficult person and kept herself to herself.........not a lot of people liked her

  • What are you on about??

  • I meant Julie Andrews........somebody said that it was not Julie singing in this recording

  • No you said someone was full of herself and not many people liked her.

  • right i can not remember saying that because i share this account with my pal alan so he may of said that

  • Okay. Can you ask him what he was on about please? Say it's on the Chim Chiree Mary Poppins video where he made that comment.

  • yes he says he was talking about P.L Travers because somebody had asked why she did not sell the rights to the show or something like that...

  • Well Pamela Travers didn't sell the rights for Disney to produce the show because she claimed that Disney had ruined her adaptian of Mary Popiins, which is why she did not like the film.

  • Soooo lovely <3

  • Gavin Creel was great as Bill in the Eloise movies!

  • Gavin at his cutest!

  • Lol

I remember when I was little and I didn't know the song words at all

so I made the song up by myself x]

and this girl used to tell me no no you have it wrong.

and I started laughing singing it as chim chim weee, chim chim a pooh Lol what could I say..

    I was little :P

  • haha! that's funny cause i still do that xD

  • this song is very nice to me and very smothing and has a good rhitham to it and it mostly has good words to it.

  • Gavin Lee, the original London and Broadway Bert, is so much better than Gavin Creel. But Creel is still wonderful.

  • i agree

i performed with him and he was amazing (and v. tall!)

  • i love gavin creel!! he is one of the few people who can pull off an amazing british accent! and hes super hot!!

  • Gavin Creel is hot.

  • i thought it was gavin lee.

  • gavin creel's in the london production. gavin lee's on Broadway.

  • yea i no i saw it on broadway times now and looked up stuff on the inter net and readtha gavin LEE originated oh london AND broadway roles as bert plus i have the london cd.... im just saying!

  • it is, idk where they got gavin creel.

  • yeah...

  • i love Gavin Creel as bert! I think i fell in love with him the night of the Tony Awards

  • Lisa is so amazing! When we were in London I went with a group to go see it and we loved it so much we went back and saw it a second time. Creel sounds much better then Lee. We stayed after the show and talked with Creel and he was so nice!

  • whoop whoop for Lisa O'Hare! She trained at the college where I am starting in September! soooo excited! She makes a great mary poppins!

  • ive seen the show and its really good, the movies good too but the atmosphere in the theatre is way better! its a great night out!

  • Well personally, I think that the show of mary poppins is the most amazing...EVER!I happen to be olivia griffiths who plays jane banks in mary poppins and i love it a load better than the film!

  • really you are ?!?!?!?!

  • I've seen parts of the stage version of Mary Poppins and I think it's awful. It doesn't stay true to the movie. Which was excellent. I think they made bad choices in actors too.

  • Well they are not going to keep it to the same story all the time they are not supposed to or it's just to predictable and you may as well see the movie than the show according to you because everything will be the same.

  • It is different than the movie because the author of books hated Disney's movie. It didn't stay true to the books. In the books, Mary Poppins is supposed to be quite mean and nasty. She didn't give the rights to Disney for the musical, she gave them to Cameron Mackintosh who hired Disney so he could use of them songs from the movie. This is an adaptation of the books, with songs from the movie. That's why it's different and better.

  • mean and nasty how?

  • I don't think 'mean' and 'nasty' are the correct words to describe the Mary Poppins in the books. But it's true that she's very different from the movie, which is also why I prefer them and the musical.

In the books she's basically colder, sterner, much more vain and very, very pleased with herself, whatever she does. But nonetheless loving and very charming indeed.

  • but what you have described is exactly how she is in the film too! she is cold and stern, think of how she responds to uncle albert's laughing behaviour, and the children when they cant sleep. She is vain, think of the song spoonful of sugar and how she sings in the mirror and when she first arrives with the measuring tape (that also shows she is very very pleased with herself) and whatever she does- her fixed schedule not to be interupted, she mentions at uncle alberts...

  • True, but I think for the movie they toned all her traits down a bit. All these characteristics can be found in the movie, but they are a whole lot more evident and very close to being exaggerated in the books. Jane and Micheal are almost afraid of her at one point or the other. Of course they portrayed the same person in the movie but still much nicer. As far as I'm concerned that's also why Pamela L. Travers didn't like the movie.

  • Go see Catherine Walker as "Mary Poppins" on Broadway! I saw her at the Sunday matinee on July 1 and she was AMAZING! Many times, her voice and graceful movements made me think it was Julie Andrews on the stage! I wasn't alone, the audience reaction was overwhelming!
