  • Can someone tell me how to best voice the progression of F#13 -> F#+7 -> B9 -> B7b9 ? in the right hand on the piano (ie if accompanying)? It's a beautiful progression but have found it hard to know which voicings to use? ie what keys to use for each chord?

  • @EoN604 the defining feature of that progression is the chromatic decending line d#->d->c#->c. Other than that, the most important chord tones to play are the 3rd and 7th (a# and e for F#13 and F#+7 and d# and a for B9 and B7b9). So I would play as the notes for each chord: (e,a#,d#)(e,a#,d)(d#,a,c#)(d#,a,c)

  • @hooyacrusty Thanks a lot! Yeah I definitely can hear that beautiful chromatic descending line in the progression - it's the highlight of the whole track for me - it's really nice hey? Thanks for the tip, I will try those voicings :)

  • these are great but for them to be any use, you need to be able to know the chord before it happens so you can anticipate what your going to play next.

  • Great Jazz Groove. I love it!!!
