I hate drunk YouTube posts. Every language has its difficulties, some have more than others. Yes I know that Portuguese, Icelandic, and ancient Nordic tongue or whatever that language derivative is from are extremely tough. The one true part from my last post is that I am in chinese and it really is very hard! Excuse my last comment and I take full blame for being ignorant!
English is simple? Hmm I could have sworn I saw that the english language whether it be british English or Americanized English that it was the second hardest language to learn besides mandarin. Italian is actually basic I learned much in a week. Where as basic Chinese it has taken me months to learn basics!

Nordic languages are. Furthermore, when you have mastered my mother tongues (german and french) because it's "easier", even the basics, text me and we'll have a chat ;)
@soonerfrk1 you have basically the same verbal form for each person (i.e. I go, you go, he go(es), we go, you go, they go). We have six different verbal form for each person (i.e. Io Vado, tu Vai, egli Va, noi Andiamo, voi Andate, essi Vanno). Not to mention all the tenses, verbal endings, the differences between male and female words, articles and adjectives. If you find it easy, well, good for you. I'm really curious 'bout what is considered "italian basics" around you. ;-)

In fact, english is the most spoken foreign language in the world also because it's pretty easy to learn, that's why it's used around the world - everyone can make it fast! I'm from Portugal and I see lot's of people from other countries saying that portuguese is really HARD. And it is true! Believe me, really tough grammar..

But the reason why English is spoken all over the world is because Great Britain was a superpower back in the day. It had colonies all over, so naturally they spread their language and culture there as well.
