@scc927 Check John Kohler shop he has found a new dehydrator better than excalibur in several ways and less noisy for sure. It just released some months ago.
Hey, just thought youd might like to know or anyone else.. it worked for silverbeet :)) but it turned out kinda flat like nori but still delicious. Only i made it a little too salty :((( But i'll keep working on it. Thanks Dara :))
Hey Dara, I just bought some Kale, but i was wondering what can i use as a substitute instead of nutritional yeast, because i don't have any :(( I hope you'll replyy! Cause i really want to eat some! :)) thanks
You can also make kale chips in the oven with the door closed at 200 degrees for 20 minutes on the top rank and they are perfect. What is the dehydrator are you using?
@justdoit7172 I am trying this as I discovered my oven will not go low enough...and I had everything ready to go! It's better raw, you're not losing any nutritional value, but what can ya do?!
Thank you Dara for being such an inspiration. Your recipies do make it easy to stay raw. I'm three months in and still having cravings for the bad stuff...your recipies are a huge help. I made your zuchinni hoummus yesterday and it was delicious. It tasted just like the real thing!!
I don't yet have a dehydrator so I will try to make these in the oven because I can't wait to try them!!! I think it will really help with the cravings I have been having for chips. Thank you!!!
Dun dun dunnnn... how will the kale chips turn out? I hope you have a second tomorrow to show us. That looks delicious Dara!. Just 2 things: What can I substitue for kale? (I can't get kale in my country), What can I use instead of nutrtional yeast? (not available here either).
oh these look divine cannot wait to make, unfortunately I cant get any Kale from any market or supermarket in Australia at the moment but I have a heap growing which will be a few weeks away so I cannot wait to try these. I am in the mean time going to get myself a dehydrator.
Oh my gosh...I couldn't help it...I got all the stuff to make your decadent kale chips!!! I've been doing raw for over 6 months, and I still need that transitional stuff every now and then. Kale chips rock!! Thanks Dara...love your channel. Can't wait!!!
Nice video with great tips that I haven't seen before. I have made kale chips before and they often come out so tiny. I usually cut the kale off the stems and then cut smaller pieces. This looks so much easier, tearing leaves off of the stems and then using the whole, large leaves - resulting in decent size chips. I think I also tended to massage a little too vigorously. I also, like the idea of sprinkling extra nutritional yeast on after coating them. Can't be too cheesy for me! Thanks!
@daradubinet i have slight obsessive and compulsive issues, you see! so they were upsetting me slightly as they weren't arranged with structure!! offit i know! :\ but now i know their purpose, i'll be able to let this go!! :D - peace
GREAT! I bought a dehydrator and havent touched the thing yet because I've been busy plus didnt know what to make. I will definitley try this recipe today. Love the hair looks very fresh and young
@balletdancer247 You can try sunflower seeds, but you might need to use more oil because cashews are much more fatty than sunflower seeds. You'll also need to soak them longer. I can't guarantee this will work because I've never tried cheesy kale chips before - I normally just drizzle kale with olive oil, dehydrate and eat them plain.
i have a ? i live in east Tennessee and we don't have anything like a whole foods or any stile stores like that here.so our selection of produce is really slim compared to somewhere like your neck of the woods. so my ? is what are some basic veg can i eat and get the nutrients that i need every day? keep in mind we only have your basic veg and slim organics. thanks so much for your great videos
@bcrawdad1 There are two Earth Fare stores in Knoxville. That's where I go to get seriously organic veggies, fruits and all the good stuff to help keep you raw :)
