How do the EnviroNapkins compare eco-friendly wise to 100% Tree Free napkins? Tree Free napkins are napkins where no wood pulp used to make the napkins so all the resources used quickly renew in 12 months or less.
I'd love to go to a restaurant that is using them to try it out. A 12x12 napkin seems quite small though for a dinner napkin considering the average cocktail napkin is 10x10. Where is a restaurant in Jackson that I can go to to see these napkins in action? You do admit that they come from China and the energy it takes to get on a boat from China is a lot. Thanks Dan.
Thank you for your comments. Actually it is doing quite well. Over 35,000 a week now are being used. Our estimates are that 4 tons of landfill waste has been saved to date.
The EnviroNapkin is designed to focus on paper napkins that are used in casual dining restaurants that often use paper napkins. Just an interesting note, paper manufacturers often use 5-10 gallons of water to manufacture 1 pound of paper while the EnviroNapkin uses less than 2 gallons of water per lb.
Looks like something you would dry your car with. And it's only 12x12 - barely larger than a cocktail napkin. They don't have that information on their website. Anytime you wash something in a washing machine that cannot be considered environmentally-friendly. You are still using energy, detergent and water. They are imported from China too so figure the cost to the energy of importing them and taking jobs away from Americans.
