I bought the ps3 slim when it first came out and it got the ps3 version of the ''rrod''. I was just unlucky. So I got a new xbox slim and they fixed the rrod problem in those so quit using that as an excuse and just admit your cheap asses cant pay $60 a year for great online play. (thats pretty much one new game a year for those who don't only buy used games) but they fixed my ps3 anyways, I just like the online service for xbox cus you get what you pay for. And its a much larger community.

You can use multiple discs for installation. A PC game can be made of one, two, five or ten discs, you'll only need them once. That way, there is no difference whatsoever between a game coming on a single 25 GB Blu-ray or three 8.5 GB DVDs. All that data will be copied to and read from the hard drive.
That's not only inconvenient, but in this day where bigger media DOES exist, it's also less wise to use smaller media. More ways for something to go wrong, if one of those disks gets damaged, there's more of a chance you wont be able to install the game. Say one gets lost? And I sure hate having a game with multiple disks. Also the disk storage is bigger, usually less sturdy.
So no again, it's not invalid. BluRay disks are still better then CD or DVD disks especially for games.

20% of the time there's protection on the disk which isn't even worth breaking, to make it a No Disk. MOST games have some, small flawed wall which you can easily make a no-disk.

I have both consoles(360, ps3) and i love them both. They both have unique features and abilities that divides them from one another. But i have to say that i play me ps3 10 times more than the 360. because the ps3 has had so much to offer that the 360 doesn't. like the processor , or the sixaxis controllers...i love the ingenuity at sony. plus, they really have the console to a "tee". the guys at microsoft have made so many SKU's of the original 360. There is only ONE ps3.

@Blivia Why doesn't this information get through your thick skull? PC DOESN'T USE DISCS TO RUN GAMES, ONLY TO INSTALL THEM. It's a one-time process, unlike consoles which requires the disc on the drive every time you want to play.
And if you lose one of the multiple DVDs, you can't install the game. Just like if you lose the one Blu-ray disc, you also can't install the game. That is another senseless argument.

Your point does have some truth to it, but as I said it's MUCH less convenient. If everyone thought like you, we'd still be using Floppy disks to install our games. There's newer, better technology out there, we should take advantage of it. The more disks you have, the more likely it is you'll lose, or break one. The odds are smaller with one, single disk. The facts are still there, you just refuse to see them. In order for games to advance, so does the disk media. Better graphics take up more space on your install media. Disk size is VERY important. FYI Crysis wasn't all that amazing, least to me anyway. It was pretty impressive, but I wasn't a fan of the story/gp.

Disc size has NOTHING to do with graphics. Disc size only allows a longer game, but doesn't increase visual quality at all. Graphics is rendered by the GPU in real time, not saved on the disc/drive. And I can't believe you're so ignorant to the point of not understanding, after all the times I've said it, that PC GAMES DON'T RUN FROM DISCS. Disc size makes NO difference to PCs at all.

@NewLynxS The MORE DISK SPACE YOU HAVE, the MORE GAME YOU CAN PUT INTO IT.
So yes, that DOES result in higher graphics, because you're able to fit higher resolution textures, and more polygons, which results in higher quality graphics. As well as space enough to fit a bigger, longer game.
20% of the time there's protection on the disk which isn't even worth breaking, to make it a No Disk. MOST games have some, small flawed wall which you can easily make a no-disk.

@Blivia your wrong, you apparently dont know how the cell handles data from games. the cell b.e. has to have extra data to tell it what to do and needs to have all data already decompressed (why the blueray storage medium is needed). multiplatfrom games are 3x the size on the ps3 platform than the xbox 360 and yet they look better on the 360. your argument is invalid due to the fact you seem very uneducated in this area. no one cares about disc convenience today. also, its "disc" not "disk"

Multiplatform games don't look as good on the Ps3, because they weren't made to take full advantage of the Playstation 3. We'll see, and compare how good MGS: Rising looks, which has always been Playstation first. ^_^

The size of the Install media is important, more important then you know. I know the point you're trying to make, but we're not on the same fucking arguing page, because YOUR POINT is DIFFERENT then mine. Doesn't that make us both right? I never said BluRay would increase over-all game performance, but it will increase the quality of the game, while still being ONE DISK TO INSTALL WITH. And, having 1 disk is 10x more convenient to Store, and Use then, say, a set of 4-5 disks.

That would go away if we used BluRay, at least until 50 GB becomes equal to 5 GB- Which it probably will one day.

I have both consoles(360, ps3) and i love them both. They both have unique features and abilities that divides them from one another. But i have to say that i play me ps3 10 times more than the 360. because the ps3 has had so much to offer that the 360 doesn't. like the processor , or the sixaxis controllers...i love the ingenuity at sony. plus, they really have the console to a "tee". the guys at microsoft have made so many SKU's of the original 360. There is only ONE ps3.

@farkiller for $60,- singleplayer game they give you a game that takes around 40 hours to complete. Games have to cost more so they can create more, but the problem with high prices is that there wouldn't be sold as much as regular games. Just look at the PS3 sales; after the pricedrop ($299) the sold way more then the first launch versions ($599)
