  • It feels so beautiful listening to this song

  • Beautiful lyrics and very well rendered, thank you Saida. During the 70s I travelled a lot in the North West area of Tanzania. Although I didn't have sufficient time to learn the language of the Bahaya I appreciate so much their culture that if I wasn't married at the time I would have married one. They are a highly cultured people. I wonder how much of that culture has survived the onslaught of the so-called Western civilisation.

  • She has a wonderful voice...

  • very funny !!! it is best comedy and gag. wow very funny music and movie

  • Real free Continent: Africa !!

  • Rwanda, Burundi, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, it is about time you unite.

  • Allow me to apologise, on behalf of my country, for xnewfoundhope's embarrassing commentary. She forgets that, in our country, young children known to our social services, as being at risk, still get killed by delinquent adults. As regards the size commentary, I imagine she expected you all to be suffering from acute malnutrition. Samahani.

A great video and excellent music, by the way.

  • @mwingereza? Your comment are not wealthy for respectable Africans. Young children known to our social services, as being at risk to become skin heads in Europe and US. Stop that white trash, Dar es Salaam, formerly Mzizima, is the largest city in Tanzania including our traditional music is beautiful.

  • i love african songs what lovely it is

  • YOU ROCK

  • nostalgie fait pensé à maman!!

  • como me encanta esta cancion!!!!!!!!

  • Who's that idiot talkin shit about Africa? if you appreciate th music then listen if not go and listen to Johnny Cash or Elvis!!

  • Who's that idiot talkin shit about Africa? LOSER

  • problem - it may be ok in African culture to be chatting up children, it certainly is not in UK culture - it may be gorgeous for men to be supporting a gut, it certainly is not here - it may be OK for gals to be size 16 plus - it’s not here - if this is gonna wash here there has to be changes - big changes

  • @xnewfoundhope What is that have to do with anything. If people in the UK could move like this, they would sell it to the world.

  • @xnewfoundhope wow, way to be accepting to all cultures and people, jerk.

  • @xnewfoundhope

ok, THANK YOU!! now we know the UK culture.

Now, on to the next lesson: AFRICAN culture:

It is NOT ok to chat up kids, the song's title actually means "I am still young" so the song is not encouraging paedophilia, it's condemning it.

At a certain point she sings: " I am still young, I am still a child, like a suckling infant(...) let me grow up, finish school"

About male guts, sizes and shapes of the human body...well not everyone is into skinny asses - deal with it!

  • @sourcream20b Thank you so much for the explanations. I am from Nigeria, though I could not understand the words she is singing, I understand the video. The rest of the world do not think we Africans have common sence.

On the male guts in the video, I think that is poking fun at the "White master" back to the colonial days. You can see they are wearing outfits to make them look Europaen with a big gut. Lol!!! One Love!!

  • @calico1294 I have always loved Tanzanian music..relaxing. She is such a fun lady..she is talking about how she is still young - with an infant to breast feed......

  • @xnewfoundhope lol stfu you idiot i love having curves and being wide hipped it's a blessing it was a bad thing slave owners wouldn't have been sneaking peaks and molesting the slaves soooooooooooo if u didnt agree with the vid u shouldnt've commented

  • fantasitic

  • epic!

  • what is the meaning of this sound? I luv it

  • Its you girl with the gap between your teeth and legs of the Tutsi, tell me your name...

  • Omukaile Kilinjwi 5:48 Saida Karoli The Rough Guide To The Music Of Tanzania World is one of the loveliest songs i have heard Great to see more of Saida's songs on here.

  • real raw talent the lady can sing for real not trying to be American like the rest of those fools. I like Americans but we Africans do not need to copy Americans with everything .. thank u you tube you great

  • I can vote Saida Kaloli for ''AFRICAN QUEEN OF SEDUCTION''

  • Very nice beats!! African beats so sweet, keep it up but return to this sort of music. There are so many people behind your old music

  • i gotta go shake my waist now lol.

  • african music are the best. you can here good music like this from anywhere except in africa

  • i luv dhis song afrikan rockz

    Luv

    It

    Luv

    It

  • wow wow I like it

  • why are black girls so good at shaking their butts?

  • @Elififa - It's the waist movement, that results in the butt movement. Anyone with a flexible torso can do it. Of course the fact that black girls tend to have well endowed backsides helps too.

  • @Elififa Heheheeeeee...guess they practise somewhat more often than Non-African girls do. :))

  • @Elififa it is genetic

  • @ Maraozao you might wanna get a real player in your computer and this can be easy, you can download as much music and videos in youtube as you can!

  • Is Saida from Tanganyika or Buganda kingdom?

  • @Generalidibabu

Saida Karoli is a MHyaya the tribe Haya. The Haya are an ethnic and linguistic group based in the Bukoba, Muleba and Karagwe Districts of Kagera Region in northwestern Tanzania. The Haya have a Bantu dialect that has words and sentences similar to several languages spoken in Uganda.

  • One of her songs was a big hit in Liberia. I just can't remember the name of the song. She has a golden voice!!!

  • Maravilha!!!

  • Saida, wewe ni legend wa muziki TZ, up there with the very best... Endelea kuporomosha classics kama hizi.

  • The language of this particular song is KiHaya ( person is a MHaya). The WaHaya are found in Northern Tanzania areas. Bukoba, Muleba, and Mwanza around the Lake Victoria lake shores. The WaHaya are closely related in language and culture to the Banyoro/Batoro of Western Uganda.

The song also includes lyrics in KiSwahili.

Song is about a girl who is still in school she is asking the guy to be patient until she finishes school. Saying she is still young to engage in such grown up affairs.

  • @ShaManonga

why does the man dance on the woman then the woman starts dancing? Is it a courtship dance?

  • @Quiteness

The men are dancing, as they move towards the ladies. The man has to show his skills(talents) that will attract the lady to dance with him and honor him.The man also is showing appreciation to the beauty of the lady he chooses, that will attract the lady to dance with him.

The lady joins the man after she feels the man has appreciated her worthiness, and her beauty. The lady reciprocates by accepting to dance with the man.
