@fngrpckr Hey Daryl. did you ever find that acoustic version? I enjoy all your vids but was definetly my all time favorite. Would love to see it again!!
Very nicely done!! I'm not sure if you're aware of it or not, but it's actually a sixteenth century English folk song, entitled "Early One Morning". I know it better as the theme music for the Friendly Giant television program, I loved the show as a kid.
Very nice. I spent most of ly life knowing this song as FG's theme song, and later found out it's an even older English song called "Early One Morning." It will always be FG's song to me, though!
I am using an Fishman Loudbox 100 Acoustic amp. And even on a Johnson rockguitar I can get a jazzy rockabilly sound, so I don't have any doubts that your Gretsch will sound incredible, it allready does.
I myself am thinking about buying an effectboard like Vox ToneLab SE Guitar Multi-Effect Pedal Board.Good luck!
There is nothing wrong with your playing. It is very inspiring. The amp however doesn't seem to suit the Grestch guitar. There is too little sustain.
Perhaps bad sound quality. Have you tried adjusting (stupid question you probably have) the EQ settings? The treble strings sound a bit worn out and too bright. Your playing skills are truly excellent though. The rest is all electronics so don't worry! :)
I was playing a lot of electric slide on my Strat before I got the Gretsch(4 months) so all I have now is a Fender pro junior(15 watts). Maybe soon I'll invest in something like a Fender blues deluxe I was even thinking Ampeg. What thoughts do you have? I'm using a visual sound H2o echo/chorus,Holy grail reverb(only cause the fender has none), Thanks
Bro! Your playing is wonderful! Keep up the great work! I was just looking at your videos and you posted a new one while I was watching. ! How Cool! It's Wavelength Thing.
Thanx Vincent, I really appreciate the compliment! Comments like yours drive me to get better recordings and post them. I will try to keep 'em coming!
Daryl, I would love to see your acoustic version of this again. Do you still have it to upload?
