Forget the Decepticons, Micheal Bay is the real enemy here. Those live Micheal Bay films don't do justice to this animated film. Micheal Bay must be stopped at all cost. More Transformer films should be made like this.
It probably does better justice to this movie because it creates a contrast between the two. Critics didn't like this movie when it originally came out, but compared to the Michael Bay transformers movies, I'm sure they'd pick this one in a heart beat.

The only reason this movie wasn't more depressing, imo, was because of the 80s music in the background that didn't match the mood most of the time. If they ever re-release it with a more moody soundtrack, it might actually be hard to watch. Good movieand good opening song though,

i was with 2 peoplw atching Transformers2 in theatres..they both fell asleep. Which was understandable...they action scenes were so friggen dull! This was the last movie for Orson Welles, Lionel Stander and Scatman Crouthers, who also played Scat Cat in "The Aristocats." This is an awesome movie. Bay so didn't top it!
It's too bad this movie never got the recognition it deserved. Not only was the animation great for the time but it had surpurb voice-acting especially for unicron. It's one of the most cherished movies in my collection.

Shout! Factory will FINALLY be releasing the Takara Transformers Japanese DVD's in the U.S. this year!

fuckin classic song. Even though it was made by a glam rock band it still kicks ass. when I first saw this movie when I was about 8 years old it sent chills down my spine and still does today. I enjoyed it because it is alot darker than the cartoon. The new ones arent shit

This was the last movie for Orson Welles, Lionel Stander and Scatman Crouthers, who also played Scat Cat in "The Aristocats." This is an awesome movie. Bay so didn't top it!

It's too bad this movie never got the recognition it deserved. Not only was the animation great for the time but it had surpurb voice-acting especially for unicron. It's one of the most cherished movies in my collection.

@DragonfireEX402 Amen. Though I think the Matrix had a brain cramp at selecting Hot Rod. "The Movie" was epic awesomeness. Animation. Rock. Only wished it kept going like it did in Japan. Incidently. Shout! Factory will FINALLY be releasing the Takara Transformers Japanese DVD's in the U.S. this year!
