Blake sounds terrible. But maybe he sounds better in person. Cesare Valletti

was a light tenor who made lots of recordings; sounded dry and raspy on all

of them. In person he produced a golden tenor of surprising size.

Serra sounds perfect for this role w/ lots of personality too.

Yes, this was performed in Santiago, Chile, at the Teatro Municipal. It was a great performance, I was there and the audience went wild! As a person Madame Serra is one of the most delightful people you would ever find on a stage!

This is much better than Serra's Italian recording of this opera, which can be quite dreadfully in some places. She certainly has a good understanding of the character. This isn't a contest but I would give Serra 3.5/4, the tenor 4/4 and over all, 3.7/4 (I just took the average of the two).

I find Serra's voice extremely irritating here. Blake is fine, but I find her soprano so high and univiting. She should stick to Queen of the Night.

Now that I hear this, Ms. Serra's voice is PERFECT for the French repertoire!
