This means they also give at least $30k in tithes (some friends close to them say they give well beyond 10%), and with tax, you'll realise they're not THAT rich.
He actually said his personal income (not Bobbie) was around $300K...but the tax records show that his company LMI made over 1.5 million in 2006...what he is not saying is the amount he is pouring into his property portfolio...he may only take $300K for pocket money..but every other bill is paid for him as a tax deduction and the rest is siphoned off for his retirement

Okay the facts are coming from a newspaper. I duno about Australia, but American newspapers bash the church at every moment they get. The church I go to had a little story in the newspaper. The editor said we only had 200 in congregation but in reality and i counted we had 1500. if they lie about a simple subject about attendance, what would stop them from lying about anything.

I do understand that the name changed when they merged. From what I have read on Wikipedia, Brian left his dad's church to start Hills Christian Center. From that I understand that he started it himself.

I am no fan of Hillsong, but I don't think it's right to (deliberately or accidentally) imply that Brian Houston is guilty of these offenses. If you are going to point your finger, please do it at the right person.

A little misleading placing "$65m income" over the top of a photo of Brian and Bobbie.
For what it's worth, Brian Houston recently stated in an interview that his and Bobbie's combined income is roughly $300k, and that includes all their work for other churches and organisations, book sales etc, not just what Hillsong pays them. This means they also give at least $30k in tithes (some friends close to them say they give well beyond 10%), and with tax, you'll realise they're not THAT rich.

Not taxes for pastors since the money they recieve is a donation. They earn 300,000 dollars while their followers donate most of their cash so that an imaginary friend in the sky will love them. yes, all the people putting videos like this should be ashamed. God wants people like hillsong to be rich becasue if they are rich and live in big houses people can see how much God loves them! Then they will want to be rich too and worship Jesus! Hillsong don't need to pay taxes like normal people because when they dont pay taxes its in the name of God! Paying taxes is for people who don;t worship god and god will take Hillsong to heaven and the people who pay for hospitals will go to Hell!

Well for one, nobody is perfect, even within the church. It's not fair to say the church is evil just because there are such people in it. Besides, these people were dealt with by the church and no longer in the ministry. Just because Brian's father was a paedophile, it does not mean the church he founded was not for the cause of Christ. Let us focus on Jesus and not Man.

I just find it odd they spend relentless hours on the road touring and spreading the gospel in different countries, while you spend the same time bashing them doing what God has appointing them to do. i see ur side but if they r all bout money then my prayers as with urs is that hillsong church would be irradicated.however every concert ive been too, they only charge $10 for admission. compared to other artists that are about money

Okay the facts are coming from a newspaper. I duno about Australia, but American newspapers bash the church at every moment they get. The church I go to had a little story in the newspaper. The editor said we only had 200 in congregation but in reality and i counted we had 1500. if they lie about a simple subject about attendance, what would stop them from lying about anything.

1.The fact that you believe Hillsongs new and improved version of history(Brian H's version) shows that lies come from all quarters..
Frank fled the rumours of his paedophilia and escaped to Sydney where he started the church(City Christian life centre) in 1978 and Brian opened his own franchise (Hills Christian Life Centre ) in 1986 but it was still the same church. It wasnt until his dad was found out that Brian took over both and changed the name from to Hillsong.

2.Until this point they were both just small humble churches...In the late 90's Brian met with the prosperity pimps in your country and he saw what marketing Jesus could do for him and this turned Hillsong into the corrupt machine it is today.

I have no idea what you are talking about. I have never had Brian Houston speak at my church. I have met him once back in the later 90's.
My church has nothing to do with Hillsong church. We don't believe in the prosperity "gospel".
I don't agree with it from Hillsong or those that preach that here in the States either.
So, telling me that I have some vested interest in Hillsong is very assuming on your part.

I have watched hillsong here in Sydney and seen the victims it has left behind..and i get very passionate about denouncing their shallow gospel
a survey in 2007 showed that membership of Hillsong had a 50% turn over every 5 years..
Hillsong are quick to talk of its growth but dont mention the victims they leave along the way

If you are passionate to denounce something that is bastardizing or perverting the gospel message, then you need to find an outlet for a better presentation of the gospel message. Jesus disagreed with many religious leaders, but he had credibility due to the fact he was establishing the greatest church in history. Despite what Hillsong is allegedly doing, you are scaring people away from Christ altogether, and you are going to answer for that one day.

I do understand that the name changed when they merged. From what I have read on Wikipedia, Brian left his dad's church to start Hills Christian Center. From that I understand that he started it himself.
The name changed when he forced his dad to step down and they merged. That is the first time they were one church with two campus.

Hills Christian life centre was the secound campus of the city christian life centre. but frank was considered the senior elder of both. The name change came as a result of an increase in popularity of the music (mostly written by Geoff Bullock who left hillsong because of his doubts in brian prosperity gospel)and the annual conference called Hillsong.
They rebranded both churches to Hillsong because the name became so well known..but they were and are 2 campuses of the same church..

I am no fan of Hillsong, but I don't think it's right to (deliberately or accidentally) imply that Brian Houston is guilty of these offenses. If you are going to point your finger, please do it at the right person.
