Quite frankly nobody in the community would lie to me about it. The witchcraft community is quite small generally speaking and many of the witches who are my friends and family are well into their 70's. There is no "witch queen" or ever has been if you exclude Alex and Maxine. Neither do any covens I know get involved in prostitution and drugs - respecting the earth and our bodies? Witchcraft and Satanism are two very different things. Real witches do not believe in Satan and do not harm. Satanists are their own thing- not witches, more Christian than true Pagan Witches. Wicce (witch) means wise woman, ability to bend, and it is misogyny to say that witches are evil/scary/do bad things and an insult to true witchcraft to perpetuate the false stereotypes/association with the Christian devil. Hmm, I don't think we should be hating on her. That helps no one, and she seems like a nice woman.

Quite frankly nobody in the community would lie to me about it. The witchcraft community is quite small generally speaking and many of the witches who are my friends and family are well into their 70's. There is no "witch queen" or ever has been if you exclude Alex and Maxine. Neither do any covens I know get involved in prostitution and drugs - respecting the earth and our bodies? Maybe she was involved in some satanic group - we don't get involved with those people and they are not witches.

well now I do believe that she could be in a satanic group, I did not realize your friends were that age, when I read Doreen's book she talked about growing up in the thirties, but if they are in there 70's than they would have been around the same time. I agree that wiccca teaches respect for ones body and the earth, I agree that people like Doree seem a little dodgy in that they are all queen witches or high prists. However I would encourage you to look up carol kornaki, she's more credible.

A few of my friends came back via email to say they heard of her in the 70's, she was a satanist not a wiccan and the title queen of the witches was totally self imposed - not exactly a majority vote. Satanists are Christians gone bad - nothing to do with us lot as wiccans don't believe in Satan. Personally I would never lower my own moral and personal standards to embrace drugs and prostitution even if I was a satanist. Has the woman no self respect?

Yeah, what she said seemed more in line with a off shoot satanist group than wicca, I don't think satanists even believe in satan, actually, from those I have talked to. I read her biography and she had a horrible childhood, so I think she found whatever group would take her in, and for someone who was very poor being a "Queen" would be something. I do believe though that God has helped her and I'm glad she is out of that group and respecting herself more.

We take the Goddess's law of love seriously. My understanding of the phrase "witch queen" is when a coven splits off with no malice or other ill will, and is still under the jurisdiction of the original HP.

Lucifer is a name of a Greek Goddess. Her name literaly means "Bring of Light/Enlightenment/Knowledge". Relax don't let satan who is talking through them to make you digress and let yourself down by saying things that are not making you a good witness (I have to learn this a times too and sometimes it get the better of me). If you are going to speak on behalf of God or Jesus then you have a duty to act and speak accordingly (be a good witness to the faith). This is not a dig its a friendly heads up thats all. I've read the Book and it was really shocking but it's always a wake up call for everyone to know that Satan is real, but Jesus is greater than Satan and keeps giving freedom to all of us once captives in sin.

I was introduced to the occult at age 4 (40 years ago). I went through a development from interest to practising witchcraft and then satanism. In 1984 I tried to commit suicide by shooting myself in the head; a fruit of witchcraft is suicide and depression.
I was born again as a Christian in 1998 and Doreen's daughter came to my baptism. Let me assure anyone and everyone that Satan is real. I served him/them and in the end they tried to destroy me. Beware the devil!
