  • To truly honor these men Obama MUST be defeated in November 2012 otherwise their sacrifice would have gone for not.

    Obama HATES the military.

Obama LOATHES everything this country stands for.

    Obama is the ENEMY WITHIN!

  • @mariancolts I actually hope Obozo DOES get another term -- in Leavenworth. 25 to life sounds about right to me!

  • @mariancolts This is a beautiful, spiritual song - a wonderful reminder of what the ultimate sacrifice entails. I am deeply moved by the music and the words, and I thank you for making it available.

But the crass political comments only demean the deep, reverential sentiments contained within the song. The sacrifice of the true patriot is on a much higher plane than you'll ever find in the scruffy gutters of partisan bickering.

  • Prayers up for your brother and all his brothers-in-arms. May the be safe and home soon.

  • My Brother just left for Afghanistan today, before we left we told me to listen to this song and that he promises he'll stay safe, please pray for all soldiers to come home safely!!!! Support Our Troops they are the ones fighting to keep our freedom and do something for them to pay them back the fallen the hurt and the survivors we love you dearly!

  • SEMPER FIDELIS. GLORY AT HERO.

  • @Super1776Patroit nigger

  • I'm singing this in choir... it gave me chills. So beautiful. I am eternally grateful for the men who serve, Canadian and American alike.

  • God bless America and all of its living and fallen veterans. Thanks to all soldiers. Proud to be an American.

  • may those who have died serving this country be remembered for their sacrifice and unswaying devotion to duty.

  • Such a touching hymn, I don't know how they sing it without breaking down, I can hardly get thought it just listening.. It's a fitting tribute to all fallen heroes.

A great job with the video it's spot on. Thanks too to all who serve and served.

  • God bless the soldiers...soldiers, bless the Lord.

  • My father is pointing the bayonet affixed riffle, with the tank in the background. He is still alive, living with my mom in Oregon. He is eighty seven years old, and still marching. The photo was taken in the Philippines. Thanks for posting this. It means a lot to us all.

  • @owemylife Thank you for the kind words. And thank your father for his service.

    Gunkadink (USAF 1962-1968)

  • @owemylife wow - I've looked at that picture for over 30yrs now. What an iconic image! Thank your father for his service!

  • @owemylife Thank you to your father for serving with this country for our freedom.. He is my Hero.. My God bless your Family as well as everyone else who has fought..

  • This is the song our troops here as they reach those pearly gates. God bless America; God bless our soldiers.

  • Bob, Yes, Major Winter's passing has been all over the net. Facebook had HUNDREDS of condolence messages about his death.

At a time when America could use more men like Dick Winters, we're losing so many of them.

From all accounts of those with whom he served, he was a real man and an outstanding leader.

    R.I.P. Major. You've earned it!

  • @gunkadink They can't do it all. We've got to step up eventually. Thankfully, Stephen Ambrose recorded his legacy for us to learn from.

  • @gunkadink As great men like Dick Winters depart this earth, a new generation of great men and women are coming forward to take their place. God bless the men and women of our armed forces. They are an inspiration for us all.

  • @71259mark Amen. As long as there are men serving in uniform, there will ALWAYS be bands of brothers. It's why they do what they do.

  • I heard yesterday that another one of our brothers has been brought home to the Mansions of the Lord. Richard Winters of Easy Co, 506th Parachute Infantry passed recently. A truly amazing and humble hero who led the heroes of the Band of Brothers. May God Bless his family and his men. RIP Sir.

  • I am a MacKenzie myself and I couldn't be any more proud to be related to the man who wrote this masterpiece of a hymn! Truly amazing!!

  • i always shred to tears everytime i listen to this song. great job with the video my friend. keep it up!:)

  • God bless everyone

  • a sextet of males from one family sang this today at our perforing arts show and it was really beautiful :)

  • Had I heard this song before, I would have requested it at my Grandfather's funeral after the 21 gun salute.

  • Sad that a beautiful video provokes such needless consternation. This video is about those who have fallen in service to our country - not one's opinion of their commander-in-chief. Whomever you voted for, Obama IS our President - and he was freely elected by the people of the United States of America.

  • A really good song and I also liked the movie.

  • those people are not heroes because they died for america, they are heroes because they were poor, misleaded people that were USED by the big bosses to benefit from wars. these poor men and women were instructed to go to some foreign country overseas to defend the american freedom by killing people they never met before or know nothing (or little) about. this is one fucked up world we live in right now. read people, read and wake the fuck up. revolt against tyranny and corruption. WAKE UP!!!!!!

  • @theInfamous3 Of course, soldiers in other nations may precisely fuck or kill others by orders, but by their means, no, same here as well, but it's also told to people and kids in other nations, were either persuaded or forced by rebel terrorists or bullying governments to ambush US soldiers. Although, yes, soldiers whether poor, rich, tallest, to smallest, are always honorable for serving for a cause not from "government values", but for your right to speak, noob, you pathetic greatness.

  • have another beer, lowlife.....

  • @theInfamous3

    Shut the fuck up, moron.

They are better men than you.

  • @101327 Lol, for real, is that your profound reply? Suck a dick hillbilly.

  • @theInfamous3

    Hill billy? lol.

Not even remotly close you worthless fuck.

Paraniod trash like you needs to be put to the sword.

  • @theInfamous3

If you studied your history at all, you would know that Hitler's armies were set on taking the world, and were actively exterminating millions of people. America stayed out of the war for too long, and were eventually dragged into it by the attack on Pearl Harbor. These MEN bought you the freedom to listen to Rage against the machine with their lives.

  • Haunting is the right word for this profoundly beautiful hymn.

And my thanks for those who served this country and indeed the world with your service in America's armed forces. Yours is a noble and honorable profession.

  • Only 4? As to "how" that's easy....sense of entitlement and absoulety NO capacity of appreciation.

Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it.

  • how could those 4 people not like this video?

  • @DrChuckAndTheWomen Obama also hates it.

  • @gunkadink wow what a dumb comment

  • to say the USA saved "us" is so rude to say. my grandfathers battled so all you guys (inc me) could have a life. USA DID NOT SAVE USA. THE ALLIES DID.

  • How many Frenchmen does it take to guard Paris?

    ZERO

  • I wish I knew of this song when my father had passed away , he was a WW2 Vet and a veteran of Pearl Harbor ,and spent 5 tears in the pacific island hopping , I would of loved to of honored him with this song , I have requested it be played when i pass and would like in my tombstone at the Bath National cemetery. hopefully many years from now .lol

  • @truck87654321 "Mansions" is fast becoming a standard for military funerals. Beautiful song.

Thank you for your father's service from another air force vet.

  • Nazi country

  • fuck the USA

  • My God Bless all of us.

  • This video captures the sacrifices of a life of service to America. Our son is a Bronze Star and Purple Heart Recipient. I would like to see Americans raise their children with respect for our leaders (whether we like them or not). Children are getting the wrong messages about respect and patriotism from the constant complaining and name-calling that seems to be so popular today. This trend is not good for America. Serve America. Stop complaining. Past Americans understood this well.

  • Freedom is not Free! The USA saved us 1945! Thank you! greetings from Austria! Good bless the USA! Honor the Fallen

  • @Imsee2707

    Danke und You are welcome.

Will you please send that message to the White House so the cretin now residing there might -- though I doubt it -- MIGHT come to understand that America is and most Americans are (his supporters excepted) EXCEPTIONAL and GOOD people.

Perhaps he'll even stop apologizing for America to the world.

    NAAAAHHHHH...

  • @gunkadink

I dont know if the man in the white house is a cretin and i dont know why he or anyone should apologize. The only thing i know is that the USA take the sword to safe freedom! And thats why i say "thank you!"

  • @gunkadink

I dont know if the man in the white house is a cretin, and i dont know why anyone apologize but i know that the USA take the sword to safe freedom! and thats why i say: Thank You!

  • @Imsee2707

ahhhaahhaaaaaa, you fucking austrians were more than happy to join the german army.

    what a hippcrit you are.

america led postwars that were"ausnahmlos" against the geneva convention.

if you like this nazi country.

    muhahaahaa

  • @Imsee2707

    disgusting asslicker

    austria,no wonder

  • Forget Them Not -- I am trying to build recognition of all the U.S. warriors (almost 125,000) who are buried in foreign soil and who never made it home--please see the site on FB called "Forget Them Not"

  • People don't give the Vietnam war enough respect. We did a lot of good and if it wasn't for the media we would've won.

  • beautiful song ! I love it !!

  • What a beautiful and powerful song. How much we owe those who are willing to give their full measure to insure our safety and our way of life. To repay them we must endeavor to be watchful of the people- you , me and those who govern our country. We have been given a precious gift: - a precious gift that came with a high cost. To all the Men and Women who put their lives on the line for me I Thank you. I ask that God watch over you and keep you in the Palm of His Hands.

  • Thank you, maam. And I fully reciprocate your comments.

    Stay safe.

  • Greetings from Canada.

  • no more brotherwars...

    together against the terrorism !

    honour to the fallen soldiers

    greetings from germany

  • @Craitstyle Danke von Amerika.

  • I try to refrain from strong or foul language but next time you krauts need some REAL men to come over there with guns, tanks and aircraft to save your wimpy asses from some new tyrant -- this time, thanks to all those imported Turks, probably brandishing a koran, wearing a TURBAN and speaking Arabic -- call extension 911 at the f**king UN!

  • beautiful song, honor to the fallen

  • @gunkadink

    Get a like, idiot.

  • EXCERPT

"Almighty God; We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy holy protection; that Thou wilt incline the hearts of the citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to government; and entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow citizens of the United States at large. Grant our supplication, we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen."

    G. Washington

THANK ALL MILITARY PAST AND PRESENT FOR FREEDOM!

  • Wow. Magnificent, divine. I just heard this for the first time only yesterday after viewing President Reagan's funeral service You Tube clips.

  • my choir just sang this for veterans day.... we wernt as good but still cool

  • When I hear this beautiful hymn of sorrow and hope, I recall going through the World War I National Monument in Kansas City, Missouri. At the monument, there is huge mural carved in stone showing a resolve to fight oppression, the sorrows and sacrifice it brings, and the healing and hope for the future those who have endured the horrors of war strive for. Thank you for posting!

  • I believe this version is by the West Point Cadet Chorus.

  • Yes it is the WP Glee Club.

  • I'm singing this with my school choir on the 31st in cardiff. I think it's a beautiful piece of musi and is a great tribute to any soldier who fights for freedom and brotherhood.

Which choir is singing this though?

  • This song gets me every time I hear it, as a old war horse it reminds me of all my brothers that are gone . and it make me think of the young men and woman in harms way now . Good Luck and god bless

  • Hey truck, you are a veteran?

God bless and keep you; we appreciate your service.

  • @chalicechiq sorry Iv been busy , yes i am a Vet , I retired after 21 years in the US ARMY , 1966 to 1987 . and when I look at the men and woman serving today it give me hope for the future of our country , from a old war horse to all the young war horses out there , Thank You .

  • @truck87654321 :hugs you: My fiance also served in the Army, he was a combat engineer, and he served during the Cold War - 3 years in Germany, just 30 kilometers out from the Czech border. He loved the Army, he loved Germany. He does not ever regret one minute of his service and he'd do it all over again if he could. My grandfather was a US Navy captain during WWII, and my grandmother a US Army 1st sgt. I love our veterans!!

  • @chalicechiq Well I thank you for the hug I served at a time when Military men and woman didnt get a hug or a thank you , shake the hand of your soon to be husband and tell him I said thank , I served a little time in Germany too I was in the 503rd combat aviation , we use to patrol the fulda gap . I had a great time in Germany myself , Munich and octoberfest just one of many memories , and despite what written here I liked the German people very much . my father was a ww2 vet also takecare

  • @truck87654321 HOOAH

  • Go West Point glee club!!! Hooah!!

  • im taking the information into great consideration. i mean this is the home of the free because of the brave. and i want to send my regards out to every family with a soldier in service and for those who have passed on.

  • bucs,

I respect your and understand your concerns. They display a wisdom beyond your years. No one welcomes the prospect of being harmed or killed but it's a dangerous world and always will be and, from time to time, those who wish to live in peace and freedom must resist those who would take it. Freedom isn't free. Mr. Jefferson spoke to that when he said ""The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood

of patriots and tyrants. It is it's natural manure."

    Be safe.

  • im only 14 and have thoughts of serving our country proudly. but its wheni see photos like this it makes me change my mind. i respect all the service men and woman who served and passed away for our countrys frredom and for that i thank you all. also people need to realize how good we have it in america althought things seem bad we still have it great

  • i know how u feel...im going to serve the country in about 5 yrs (going in as an officer) and yes i too am also scared when it comes to images like these, but u just have to tell yourself that america needs its soldiers and its our job to defend her. think patriotic

  • great video man

  • To footeze226 ..

You mean to tell me that anyone who answered the call of duty is a WAR-MONGER?

I don't need to see your movie. I had enough of you cowardly hippies spitting on me when I got back from "Nam. Thank God there are more of us than there is of you.

  • And next time this NON-citizen and his countrymen need some folks with guns, tanks and planes to come over and liberate his sad, sad little nation from some new tyrant, he should call the U.N., as, with any luck, we'll have resigned and kicked them out of the U.S.

Just finished a video on that titled "Notice to All Citizens 0001" Check it out.

  • And reading your smarmy condescending comments, I can understand why most Americans don't care what the likes of you think.

  • Just to inject some facts into the discussion, as a naval officer and seafarer I have been to something like 70 countries around the world, and I currently live in East Asia, which has been home for 13 years. Maybe you all should remember that it was European foreign policy that gave us 2 world wars and the genius ideas of Fascism, Nazism and Communism. Do you call standing idle while Yugoslavia went to pieces a foreign policy? You guys cant even handle stuff in your own back yard.

  • i dont want to bitch around, but after reading those comments i can really understand why most people dont like the americans ;-)

  • Thanks Gunkadink. God has turned his face so close to me this day that I have had glimpses of Heaven. It is so very exciting to be so close to the Father in these rare times. I join you in the Earning, friend. I pray for your victories, large and small. May God bless.

  • Do you weep? Who can stand....? Who can stand in the face of greatness.

God wrote this, as surely as Scripture speaks. The minds of men are humbled here.

    Be blessed

  • Yes, I weep nearly every time I hear this wonderful music. It represents the sacrifices made for what we may soon lose here. God willing, we will fight back and keep what those who died for what we have. As Captain Miller whispered to Pvt. Ryan, we, too, must "earn this."

God bless you for your poignent words.

Be safe...and join us in earning this!

    gunkadink

  • We're singing this for choir! I love it!!

  • Who can watch this and not be moved.

    Thank you HerkyHawk for sharing.

  • God's Blessings sent to all that serve to protect our freedom for us. A heart felt Thank you .

    (5*) Sherry

Thank you Paul for sharing this.

  • god bless all who have served. peace, paul

  • Hell's maw YAWNS for those who turned a profit on these men going to die in vain.

If only we could send them into those jaws today. Imagine the satisfaction!

  • Too bad these good people gave their lives just for the profits of the Fucking Rothschilds..evil fucking bastards!!!

  • Also, I personally think this song shouldn't just be applied to the US Military. I think every servicemen around the world deserves a thank you for serving their country.

  • good bless every soldier ho did hes job good. the german soldiers just did that what the comander say!! in every army is bad and god!

  • God bless america, and the soldiers who were lost in battle, defending our beautiful country.

  • With the 4th of July comming up, this is a really emotional hymn. I sang it in a Contata and didnt think I was going to get through it without crying my eyes out. Thanks for posting this hymn, its awsome to hear it everyday.

  • Somebody can tell me what is the name of second music?

  • great song

my great grandfather faught in world war 2

so every time i see this video i just imagine how he felt

and all the great people he met

he lived the war but later died

  • god bless all the people willing to fight and die for their countries. even the people fighting as our enemies deserve respect for being brave enough to fight for their country just as our soldiers fight for ours.

  • enough said

i hate when people hate on the enemies

sorta sad and i feel bad for both countrys

  • I love this song. it's so beautiful.

  • i dream of a time when we no longer have to sing this song. Until then let us remember these boys.

  • I viewed Ronald Reagan's funeral again last night on YouTube in order to remember him in lieu of these current dire times. It's nearly impossible not to cry as "The Mansions of the Lord" played. God Bless our troops, our vets, MIAs & POWs, Ronald Reagan, and AMERICA! This is a song that can make a grown man cry... it's truly beautiful.

  • Beautiful job. Well done.

  • I love this song, and I love my Vietnam Vet! Thank you to all those who have served our country. This song always brings tears to my eyes, it is so beautiful!

  • I cry every time.

  • Fine video of a great song. Thanks for posting

  • God's blessings be upon all of soldiers, living and dead. We are so fortunate to call America our home and we owe our fallen soldiers our unending thanks.

  • May the souls of our Fallen Brothers rest in peace and may the Light Perpetual shine upon them. Thanks be to God.

  • God be with you as you go home for your rewards, my fallen friends. I am home because of you.

  • To all of those fallen, but especially for Joseph Hargrove, Gary Hall, and Danny Marshall, left behind and murdered by the Khmer Rouge May 15, 1975.

  • Respect for the Pequot tribe and all native american tribes. FIghting for this land against the invaders (British, Irish, Europeans) since 17th century.

  • u guys are the best! I only have 2 years to serve so I can't go through officer training school, so im going to volunteer in israeli army.

  • @JanSobieskii I don't know if my thumbs down shows up to you or not I am sorry for it I was messing with the mouse and clicked it by mistake .I was in Israel during the Yom Kippur War, as a US ARMY adviser , showcasing the new tow missile , and we used it in the Golan Heights , anyways sorry again for the mistake .

  • God bless all of my brothers and sister for all that they have given to my family and to my country when it was their time to serve. I served my country in the Vietnam War. 40 years later, and I still walk with a heavy heart for all those who never made it home to their families. My heart may be broken, but my spirit is not. Freedom comes at a very costly price. I salute you my fellow soldier. JMR

  • May the memories of the fallen be remembered and cherished. We are truely fortunate to have such brave men who are willing to give it all for a cause and country that they believed in. One can only hope for the honor and respect that these men have no doubt won. Whatever your political ideals, one cannot have pride and gratitude for these men. God Speed those who have died in service to their country!

  • gt,

    Thank you.

I believe you mistyped that last sentence and MEANT to say "one cannot BUT have pride..."

Hey, we all do it sometimes.

  • Ya, thanks for correcting me.

  • You have described yourself the best Frozen. Do you have any idea what freedom costs? From your post, I can tell immediately you are very intelligent; full of substance; and, thought provoking ideas. Please do yourself and the rest of the free world a favor: become a target for a Marine sniper. By the time you hear the sound of the rifle, you will already be dead.

  • freak, hope you die soon

  • as1... since you don't know, ponder this. i've never heard a military person say he was serving his countrys politicians, but rather was serving his country. if you think the military's the problem ask yourself how long you'll even be able to ponder and think without them. take away the military and within days i believe there's someone in the world who will take away almost every right you take for granted. militarys don't create war. but they do serve to keep you free.

  • i seriously do not know whether to pity soldiers or admire them... i pity them for doing their commanders' dirty work..eg hitler... but i also admire them for their courage and their heart to die fighting for their countries...

  • Screw you dude, im guessing your a democrat , fart. I am enlisting in 6 months and do NOT tolerate ANY disrespect for my countries Service men and women. They do whats right, to protect their freedoms and there Countries. Again i say, SCREW YOU!

  • Screw you dude, im guessing your a democrat , fart. I am enlisting in 6 months and do NOT tolerate ANY disrespect for my countries Service men and women. They do whats right, to protect their freedoms and there Countries. Again i say, SCREW YOU!

    USMC

    Served from 1978 to 1986

  • gunkadink as a veteran i thank yopu for this awesome and moving video. HerkyHawk1985

  • Rest in peace.

  • No one hates war more than the soldier who has to fight it. We owe them a debt impossible to repay. Beautiful song; awesome video.

  • I can hate the war, but I could never hate the soldier. A long slow salute to ALL men & women & their families who wait to see if their loved ones are going to return alive. My son gave 12 years of his life to the U.S. Army. He did not return to me alive. I am not bitter. I am a proud American who honors all our soldiers.
