when a car was so dirty and covered with dust, people would write, "please wash " on the car with their finger tips. today thats the 99 per cent which is telling the 1 percent please stop.
While I like the pixelsense tech, I still think gesture controls using hardware like the Kinect has already leapfrogged this, especially for the home.
You're right but, this technology should not necessarily replace gesture control hardware. Think of what they can do if they combine them for more precision for gestures on surfaces (e.g a fridge).
@surface Is there any planned release in the NEAR future for surface as a commercial entity? With Windows 8, for example? With all the touch capabilities in Windows 8, etc. it seems to make sense to have a release of surface by then.
Can you shed some light on any release info to the general public (other than $15,000+ prototypes)?
With the display vendors currently desperate to justify high prices using failed technologies like 3D, you've thrown them a real life-line here. Well done.
Pixelsense is what makes this device really cool and appealing. But this is just a poor attempt at trying to pretend like they have invent something that had already existed many years before. They are bragging about pixelsense which is pattented by sharp and samsung and only USED by them. This really is false advertisement.
I'd love to try the YVision platform on Surface 2...

Great that you're working on this, but know that it's before it's time!! Like when you tried tablets in 2002.
