It comes with a template for drilling the plate to fit your specific router. You can also simply use the base from your router as a drill guide, align it in the center, drill the holes, and countersink. I personally like this approach, rather than having a plate that is drilled with a lot of holes to accommodate various routers. This is very simple to do, and does not compromise the strength of the plate from an excess of holes.
