@juggalotus1986 You don't need the same game. You need any official game and any copied game. the titles don't need to match. You just need the original disc because there is a curvy security code that can't be replicated with a CD-R burner, it can only be pressed, which most people don't have the resources to do.

@IIIThAnAsISIII all you need is an original ps1 game so it will read that it is a real ps1 disc and not a burned copy, it has some lock on it to make sure, but i can't remember what it's called. but then, after it notices it is a ps1 game, you swap it for a DIFFERENT ps1 game to run, if you notice, he puts in an original megaman X8, but then the burned one is just megaman 8, it is just a way to bypass the ps1 firewall

not sher bout the slims but with the fats all you need to do is go to the manigmint meny the one that shows the mem cards and what disk you have in put in your original let it loat wher it shows a black bottom disk then you with the fat you would use a cogkey but with the slim you shud just be able to swap then hit x to boot and it works

no..you dont need the original copy of the game you burnt...all you need is ANY psx game because that is needed to make the playstation think that it has a psx game is in it..and then you swap that the disk with your burned game (backup disk)

hell, i am just going to spell it out for you and end this. the console is moddified by blocking sensors that tell the console (ps2) if the dvd drive door is open, so that it will keep booting the game when the disc is swapped if it was not modded, he would have to have the drive door closed to boot to the logo screen and when he opened it to swap the other disc it would reset the console instead of booting the game. THERE IS NO CHIP, just as the title claims.

I forgot the step on the PlayStation and/or PS1, you have to hold down the little circle area at the back of the lid cover - it's the sensor - similar to the last one he shows in this video. That will let you keep the cover open on the PS1 to then boot and swap disks easily.

I would think the 'swap trick' would wear out the spindle holding the disk in place over time.

Once you do the 3 little mods to the "PSTwo" you can get swap magic, boot it up, it will stop spinning, replace the disk with your backup, and start the game.

No chance of causing excess spindle damage.

OK, I didn't think about this being for PS1 backups - in that case you want Code Breaker for PSOne - you boot it up, go to cd player, hit stop, replace disk, hit start button and start game.
