With America now awake and alert to what is happening, and making changes, we'll see what America tolerates for political and Entertainment standards.
Another Hollywood Zionist ruins a cool comic book character by acting like a silly clown. As far as I can tell, he has ruined the main character of the original story. They draw people to the theater with cool cars, and music. Then they ruin it by showing people acting like imbeciles.
In every clip I see, Seth Rogen acts like a junior high big mouth clown, not an intelligent crime fighter. It's all part of the New World Order dumbing down United Statesians
@TheTracker11rt I just saw it an hour ago. At first, the sophomoric attitude of Britt Reid concerned me. But, this was the Hornet's first time out and his character wasn't fully developed yet. He seemed to be coming around toward the end of the film. I'm like you. So far, the last few Hollywood remakes and re-imaginings have flopped for me. I'm actually getting sick of them ruining the stuff I liked as a kid. That being said, I liked this film.
Also, car had 350hp and over 500 ft lbs of torque from the factory. Would outhandle any Caddy or Lincoln from the era basides having a much better automatic in the torqueflite.
The car in fact is a 1966 IMPERIAL CROWN HARDTOP. I own two of them and say for an absolute fact that the word CHRYSLER apears nowhere on the car, registration, or title. IMPERIAL was a seperate Marque from Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth, and while it was there Desoto. This is the case from 55-68. Before and after they were Chrysler Imperials. Not a single body panel was interchangeable to another model from Chrysler. The body was of heavier gauge steel, and was the only 1 with a full frame still.
Does anyone out ther know what car that is? I chouldo'v baught one in the nineties but thy chouldnt come up with a title.I'd like to see if anyone out ther in movie land knows what make and model that car is aswell as the year and is that one also a Barris Custom Like The One From the Original TV Show
The machine guns are so high up above the fenders, I can't see how driving that thing would be easy. (Poor visibility). All the really cool cars with front-facing machine guns I've seen had them below the headlights. Oh well...
I do not even know if I would see this new film. The pinache is not there and I just can not see this cat Seth Rogen playing Green Hornet, and the Asian cat I would have to see his character as well as his martial arts skills. If this flick bombs I would like to see someone else take this iconic classic, and do it justice like they did with the bat man installments of Bat Man Forever and The Dark Night which were done in a vain that I could really appreciate.

@dancagurli ,Seth Rogen looks as doofus in the GH as he does in is other movies. He lost 30 lbs but that ain't cutting it. Rogen should stick to his nerdy-geek characters he plays in all his movies, after all,he is playing himself all over again. This film should be called "How Seth Rogen miscast himself as the GH and "Kato".Seth Rogen looks as doofus in the GH as he does in is other movies. He lost 30 lbs but that ain't cutting it.
(cont.)...Rogen should stick to his nerdy-geek characters he plays in all his movies, after all,he is playing himself all over again. This film should be called "How Seth Rogen miscast himself as the GH and "Kato".
I am going to be BOYCOTTING this P.O.S movie. There's not enough money around that would make me want to see this heaping pile of dog dung. I hope that you will join me and leading the crusade against this movie travesty concocted by a dimwitted doofus in Seth Rogen. No, I won't be seeing Rogen's "The Green Hornet" ever, and I hope that you all will join me in this.
We need to send a very STRONG message to Hollywood that clueless idiots like Rogen shouldn't be making movies like this one.
@raulcitraro Well hard core fans can go suck van williams cock and not watch the movie , who fucking cares, I mean all you ''hardcore'' fans do is bitch about rogen being hornet, even if you havent seen the movie yet, youre doing the same shit as the people who were bullshitting michael keaton as batman, grow the fuck up. Its a goddamn movie.
@TheAmazingstarman ,Michael Keaton was not the driving force behind the first Batman movie. Jack Nicholson was the one. This movie was a hit thanks to Nicholson impersonation of The Joker. The movie created a lot of expectation because of Nicholson and it was the first movie of this genre. Batman 2, w/ Keaton, was a failure. It tanked at the box office.
The sad truth is, Rogen is in WAY, WAY OVER HIS HEAD on this P.O.S movie that he has sadly made, and the only thing we can do as hard core fans, is to BOYCOTT this turd of a movie, and HOPE and PRAY that someone else can come along and re-make this movie into what we all want it to be. If some studio head in Hollywood wants to call me, I'd do it in a split second FOR FREE!
I KNOW how this movie should be made, and whom to cast, and what to script, unlike Rogen, who has no effing clue at all.
@ttfn101 Nobody wants to do your fucking movie except seth rogen you piece of shit, i dont know if you noticed but bruce lee is fucking DEAD, sorry but Seth couldn,t resurrect him. Youre discussing the ENORMOUS seriousness of a series about a newspaper editer and his asian sidekick who fight crime wearing masks. Grow the fuck up you retard.
@TheAmazingstarman Time to take you medicine little boy, and go straight to bed. Does your mommy know that you are talking like this?
Wow. You are a complete moron. It's time you grow up and stop fantasizing about your deep love for Seth Rogen.
We have ALL seen the trailer, and our suspicions were confirmed from the start.
This is a P.O.S movie done by a dunce and doofus who knows NOTHING about this character, nor about it's history. Grow up, and do your homework before talking crap. Moron!
@ttfn101 Hey aren't you a little old to be bitching about a superhero movie, for christ sake youre in your 40s, of course its not like the dark knight, the dark knight is the dark knight, seth rogen is just as a fan of the series as you are shit for brains, he modernized it. Youre fucking pathetic, if you don't like it , don't see it, but get the fuck off the internet and stop bitching you old fruit.
@ttfn101 How the hell can you know it doesn't have a plot, IT IS NOT OUT YET. It showed the green hornet drinking so your pissing your pants? What the hell is wrong with you? And the gutterball movies youre talking about are some of the decades most successful comedies, and I highly doubt that the movie will bomb at the box office, i saw the trailer in a packed theater yesterday and people were exited when they saw the trailer. You can do a better movie? what movies did you write yet fucko?
@ttfn101 You need to go away, you can't even reply to me , youre probably crying on your computer eating chips. Youre on a video you don't even like, this movie isn't for you old nerds, its for a new generation to enjoy a new green hornet, williams has his green hornet , well this is the new one, youre old ONE SEASON tv show will not magically disappear, so calm the fuck down and stop bullshitting a movie that hasn't come out yet , fucking loser, yeah I curse, who gives a shit.
The BEST template of what the awful Batman movies with Michael Keaton, Clooney, and Kilmer SHOULD have been was the TREMENDOUS Cartoon: "Batman the animated Series". In my opinion, the BEST cartoon ever made. That is the standard by which all cartoons and movies of this genre should be compared to. By the same token, the BEST and ONLY Template for The Green Hornet movie should be the tremendous 1960's TV show with Bruce Lee and Van Williams. Sadly, Rogen doesn't know nor care about this at all.
Someone like Van Williams from the 60's TV show is a great place to start. That is a great template for whom I would want to see play the role. Could it be NCSI's Weatherly? Possibly. Or Greg Kinnear? Also a good choice. I would NOT stoop to the idiotic level of what Hollywood always does, which is to cast a re-tread like a Keanu Reeves, Will Smith, or Tom Cruise in this role. My rule of thumb is "the right person for the right job", and applied here more than ever. Hollywood always does that.
@ttfn101 , "the right person for the right job", This principle applies to every aspect of our lives. I am a firm believer of this axiom. Seth Rogen is not the right actor to play The Green Hornet, unfortunately,Hollywood gave him the "Green Light" and I consider this a disrespect to all the hard-core fans.
I would cast Jet Li as Kato without question. He's the first and only choice. Next, I would have an open casting call for someone whom I think would BE Britt Reid in every way- not some fat Hollywood doofus like Rogen, but someone who actually FITS THE PART! He has to have a duality about him in his personality, and he has to have the intensity contrasting his seemingly "Rich and Aloof" demeanor that comes across when he is Britt Reid. Through it all, he has BE Britt Reid in look and form.
@ttfn101 Jet is unfortunatly a bit old for this part. Look at Bruce when he played Kato and you'll see a much younger person. He does have the skills (both as an actor and martial artist) but he's simply not the right age. I have no idea who this new person is playing Kato, I've never seen him. But I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt till I see his performance. I don't know if Seth will drag him down, but let's give the new guy a fighting chance. He could be good.
Yes, I WOULD make a great Green Hornet movie. I absolutely guarantee that. If someone out there can provide the financing, I would re-make Rogen's POS movie into something that would rival "The Dark Knight". It would be an instant success, and people would want to see it over and over again. I would KNOW whom to cast as Britt Reid / Green Hornet, and also as Kato. I would get script writers who KNOW what they are doing like Paul Dini and Bruce W. Timm, and I would get the RIGHT ACTORS as well.
(cont.) According to this movie Britt Reid is a irresponsible rich boy that when he sees his father had been killed, decides to become a crime fighter. Have we seen this before?....Iron Man ,perhaps?.
@raulcitraro Yeah, Rogen is borrowing from other movies of this genre to put in his POS movie, because he doesn't know better. In short, he has NO IDEA whatsoever of just this movie is all about. Rogen knows NOTHING of the history of the Green Hornet, nor does he know WHY The Green Hornet's car is called "The Black Beauty", nor does he even know or care as to what relation Britt Reid is to the Long Ranger.
This movie is a DUMPSTER FIRE, and is headed straight to nowhere like a bullet.
Agree w/ u 100%. I don't like the comedic tone given to The Green Hornet but modern day ppl might like it. On my own personal opinion this is Seth Rogen playing himself as the nerd-geek character we are used to seeing w/ a Green Mask. Trailers always have a lot of action to attrack audiences but the whole movie could be a total failure. Remember,"Jonah Hex"?. Anyways,This movie has copied some tones from Spiderman, remember the uncle?. "With great power, comes great responsibility".
@raulcitraro Here's what Rogen SHOULD have put into this POS movie that sounds like what he borrowed from Spiderman Peter Parker's Uncle: "With Seth Rogen's movies, comes great stupidity".
Well, the only thing that we can truly hope for, is that in about 5 years or so, someone can come along, and do a COMPLETE RE-BOOT of this franchise, and do it right the FIRST time out. I would do it in a heartbeat if only I could get the financing from the right studio that WANTS to make a great movie.
(cont.) I grew up w/ The Green Hornet. He was straight forward, dark and edgy. But what else can you expect from doofus Rogen?. He insults everybody's intelligence,he caters to an audience who thinks smoking drugs and being a loser is cool.
"Those who watched the 60s TVs knows that unlike the campy Batman TV series of the 60's TV, the Green Hornet is relatively straightforward. This trailer shows us otherwise. I had expected that the cinematic version would highlight how the Green Hornet was a convincing criminal even though he is not. I expected the movie version should show the green hornet strengths how he devised plans to outwit his nemesis and solve crime not what a goofball he is. "
Doofus Rogen does it again, playing himself as the nerd-geek character we are used to seeing. No way in hell he represents Britt Reid/Green Hornet. This is The Green Hornet comedy show. What a waste!.
I guarantee that this turd of a movie is going bomb at the box office, in similar fashion to the awful and equally as hideous "Jonah Hex", which only got, what, 8 million at the box office this past weekend? There's no way this movie even comes close to that low box office total that "Jonah Hex" made, and that was very low by expectations across the board.
As for real fans of this character, I can say that Bruce Lee is rolling in his grave right now at this travesty and mockery of this movie.
@ttfn101 ,it does not cease to amaze me that just because the movie has special effects, some ppl say is a good movie. This is the same as "Pineapple Express" w/ doofus Rogen playing the Green Hornet. Seth Rogen does not represent The Green Hornet,he is playing himself all over again.
@ttfn101 ,Yeah!!, Jonah Hex what a terrible movie. This Green Hornet movie should be called "Kato". Doofus Rogen trying to be cool by giving Kato more screen time.
We WERE right all along- Rogen has made this once great and iconic crime-fighting character into a alcohol-swilling party boy doofus. The trailer has definite moments of Rogen-esque gutterball "humor" (and I use that term lightly), along with a healthy dose of miscasting of Rogen and whomever the other guy is in playing the lead roles of The Green Hornet and Kato.
The costumes look HIDEOUS on them, and ridiculous. They both look like two guys at College Coed Frat Party trying to get drunk.
OMG! I just the new "Green Hornet" trailer, and witnessed for myself the ABSOLUTE and undeniable TRAVESTY that this movie is going to be!
My predictions and worst fears about who BAD Seth Rogen looks in this movie are now a reality.
This is absolutely the WORST piece of trash POS movie that one can possibly imagine, and I predicted that it would be just from knowing that Seth Rogen has had his hands in it from the start. I cannot say that I am surprised at seeing this, though. No surprises.
When an director quits a film two weeks before it was supposed to start shooting, you always hear about "creative differences," when it's really because the filmmaker, after having one too many screaming fights with the star, said "It's him or me."
as BP's rationale for why its Deepwater Horizon oil spill has been sending as much as 100,000 barrels of crude oil gushing into the Gulf of Mexico every day. When a wintertime movie has a lousy opening, you often read quotes from the studio's distribution chief blaming it on an East Coast snowstorm.
(cont)...at least until they've had a chance to squeeze some moola out of opening-weekend audiences who've been gulled into showing up on Friday night by the studio's trailers and TV spots. Still, it's one thing to keep critics away - and another thing to come up with a preposterous excuse for doing so. I guess people in Hollywood just love to tell whoppers, which is the nice way of saying that when things go wrong they come up with explanations that are about as believable
But if the early word of mouth on the movie was already bad, it just got worse with the news that Sony has now acknowledged that the studio won't be screening the film ahead of time for critics. It's a tried and true strategy that studios use to prevent bad buzz from spiraling out of control,
He is to much of a dork for this part no mystic or cool about him. I think bad boy Charlie Sheen should play the part of the son of the Hornet and Lucy Liu play the daughter of Kato now that would put a great twist to the charectors and perhaps some love and sexy shots as well.
I think Weatherly CAN pull it off, but it is a MUST that Jet Li play Kato. There can be none other.
Clooney could have pulled it off as Reed, if he had never played Batman back in 1994. Now, THAT was a complete P.O.S movie. Chris O'Donnell as Robin? Alicia Silverstone as Batgirl? WOW. What a hideous nightmare of a movie that was!
What a sick joke. This is why I keep saying that Hollywood has NO IDEA WHATSOEVER of how to make a movie of this genre, and still cannot figure it out no matter what.
Does any sober individual out there even REMOTELY believe that Rogen can pull this kind of character off as truly believable? I say that, because obviously, someone in Hollywood at whatever studio that is producing and bankrolling this P.O.S movie had to have been drunk or comatose to allow Rogen to play Britt Reed. Whomever that man was who gave the okay to allow this disastrous movie to be made should be fired immediately and have his I.Q checked.
There is a STRONG parallel between Batman and The Green Hornet. They both are INTENSE and DRIVEN to shift the balance of power away from those who create evil and crime, and to help those victims of crime.
Most people have NO idea whatsoever of the link between The Green Hornet and The Lone Ranger. The Green Hornet is the Nephew of the Lone Ranger, and is such, a man with an intense need for Justice against those that commit crime, and to help the victim of it.
The Green Hornet is NOT a slap-stick comedy. How many times do I have to repeat myself?. The character is dark and edgy, there is no comedy here. Rogen does not represent the part. He thinks He can play anything He wants. Michael Weatherly ( NCSI) would have been a much better Hornet. As far as Gondry is concerned,He is a good director, however, with Rogen,He is not gonna be able to do his magic.
@raulcitraro: I don't think that I could have said it any better! The farce that is the Rogen-driven P.O.S movie is going to be on full display once even those who know nothing of Green Hornet see it for themselves. Rogen is so completely and totally miscast as Britt Reed that it DEFIES description and logic.
For anyone to get a good idea of just what kind of TRUE characterization we want to see in Britt Reed/The Green Hornet, just watch the old 1960's TV show, and see Van Willams play him.
@ttfn101 Exactly right!!, the fact that He lost 30 lbs. is not an issue and that's what I am trying to explain here. He has neither the personality nor the chemistry to play Britt Reid/ Green Hornet. I was 14 when the old 1960's TV show was running, it is my own personal opinion that Van Williams and Bruce Lee were very difficult to replace thenand now, these guys had the right chemistry
(cont.)and acting chops to make the show a hit. Unfortunately back then the "Big Wigs" on ABC did not want to extend the show to one hour. Williams and Lee were fed up w/ these decision-makers therefore the show was canceled. Going back to Seth Rogen, don't get me wrong, I don't have anything against him. He can continue playing his nerdy-geek characters but please leave The Green Hornet alone!. Thanks
@raulcitraro: Yes, and it needs to be said once more- The Green Hornet is NOT a screw ball and sophomoric high-jinx comedy that Rogen is going to try to make it into, like what he has done in his other movies. This is a SERIOUS movie along the lines of The Dark Knight, that features a man DRIVEN by a strong moral sense of right and meting out Justice against Crime, but trying to do it his way with his friend Kato at his side. He does this in the shadows of the night without fanfare and glamour.
@ttfn101 ,Seth Rogen said that this movie was going to be like a comedy w/ a lot of action. What He said really PISSED ME OFF!! plus the fact that He miscast himself as The Green Hornet, what a bad joke.
@raulcitraro: I actually am now liking your idea of Weatherly as Britt Reed! I have seen him a couple of times on NCIS, and I honestly think that he could pull this off, provided that I see how serious and intense that he is, and if he could pull off the duality of character that Reed has.
He has to have those dark and intense qualities as The Green Hornet, along with a debonair flair easy-going charisma about him when he is Britt Reed in Public as his alter-ego at work, or parties, etc.
This is largely due to Hollywood incompetence, and the lack of overall talent and vision coming from the Studio heads at Paramount, Fox, Sony, and WB that oversee these projects. This is why practically 60% of the big movies coming out now have Will Smith or Tom Cruise starring in them, and those movies BOMB at the box office every time. No talent, no creativity, and a complete lack of brains and financial oversight in Hollywood that causes these movie turds to continue to be made...
@ttfn101 I agree with everything you just wrote except the fact that they will bomb. Name one Tom Or Will movie thats bombed at the box office in the last ten years. People will always go see the big budget movies no matter how bad they suck, Thus its a vicous cycle that won't change anytime soon. :/
@Usinji I do like both actors, but my point was that Hollywood studio execs start by casting most movies of this genre with those two guys, and they end up being totally miscast- like the total dud "Wild, Wild, West", the movie based on the great 1960's TV show. That movie was horribly cast and was an embarrassment, and I walked out of it in the theater because it was so bad.
I really liked Cruise in "Mission: Impossible", and thought it was a great movie.
@Usinji The real issue I have, is that is Hollywood is so one-dimensional it's casting of movies- they start off with Tom Cruise or Will Smith first, and that generally is the pecking order of how movies are cast for the most part.
For example, it is not generally known, but the first person that they wanted to cast as Batman back in 1988 was Tom Hanks! Why? Because he was famous, but not because he was right for the role. Hanks was offered, but turned it down, thank goodness!
@ttfn101 ,Yeah I remember that. They ended up w/ Michael Keaton a total miscast in my opinion. Batman did good at the box office due to the great expectation created by Jack Nicholson playing the Joker. It was just great!. Now, the sequal,Batman returns, bombed at the box office.
@Usinji Movies should be cast with the right people, not who's the most famous. This is why movies bomb- the wrong people playing the wrong parts, and it sinks the whole movie, with the incompetent "help" of bad directors, plots, production, etc.
Rogen has a famous following in Hollywood amongst the under 30 crowd, but it's those of us over 40 who actually watched the Green Hornet on TV 40 years ago that want to see a GREAT movie that is well-done by the right people, and not by some fat doofus.
@ttfn101 , I would say under the 20 crowd. I could not have said it better. I am over 40 and don't like Rogen movies. I saw a couple of them, "Observe and Report" and "Pineapple express". and in my own personal opinion, they were mediocre. His drug-related jokes and nerdy-geek characters are not funny to me. This guy should go back to his original roots.
1983 was a great movie year, too- Jedi, Krull, a Superman movie that had of all people- Richard Pryor in it (Yikes!), War Games, and a few others that were memorable. Since I worked at a Movie Theater then as a College summer job with free popcorn, that was a great summer for me!
As I see it, there are far fewer good movies that are high quality coming out now then there was way back when. Except for Avatar, Hurt Locker, and maybe two others, there just aren't that many good ones out anymore.
As I have said before, you DON'T cast Pee Wee Herman to play Superman, you DON'T cast Joan Rivers to play Wonder Woman, and you DON'T cast a fat & dopey gutterball like Seth Rogen to play The Green Hornet. This one of the biggest reasons why movies FAIL in Hollywood- no one wants to see them because they are bad movies. As anyone who has seen the Trade publications already knows, Hollywood is LOSING big money at the box Office steadily over the last 20 years or so, and this is the reason why.
@ttfn101 Seth Rogen actually looks like he is shaping up man. I'm excited to see what he will look like in the film. I hope he brings a funny yet believable tone to the film.
@Usinji ,He has been miscast. If the movie was "Happy Days" and He was being cast as "Potsy", a lot of people would be supporting that. To me losing weight is not an issue. There is no "CHEMISTRY" with Rogen playing the Green Hornet and the hard core fans.
@Usinji ,Heath Ledger has a body of work or resume very interesting, He had a lot of range. You can not compare Rogen w/ Ledger. I have already seen two of Rogen's movies and like I said, He caters to a different kind of audience ,basically the 20- year crowd -still immature- who still think drug-related jokes are funny. Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike Rogen , it is just that He is the wrong actor to play The Green Hornet. He should stick to slap-stick comedy and The Green Hornet (cont.)
(cont.) has no room for comedy. I had the opportunity to see some of the fight scenes and He does not look credible at all playing this type of character.
@raulcitraro sorry man but Heath Ledger played in Ten things I hate about you and A Kights Tale. Awful movies catered to the casual audience just for his looks. Not till later in his career did he do anything worth mentioning. I'm giving Rogen a shot and you should too. You never know he might do a good job. Give him a chance bro. :)
@Usinji ,The fan base or the true hard-core fans of The Green Hornet, believe that Seth Rogen is a total miscast. The Green Hornet is not a slap-stick comedy that Rogen is used to playing. It is a dark and edgy persona. The Green Hornet has nothing to do w/ Seth Rogen-infected comedy. This is like saying that Robert De Niro is playing Kato. Seriously, Seth Rogen does goofy-geek characters very good. Please stick to what u do best. Don't damage the franchise.
@Usinji ,Funny to you but not funny to the large majority of the Green Hornet's hard core fans. I have seen some of the fight scenes in L.A. and his stun double does not even look like Rogen. On close-up shots, on the fight scenes, Rogen face expression does not carry the intensity of a fight. He basically looks like Seth Rogen wearing a Green Mask. These are details that "Marvel" study very carefully when choosing the actors who are going to play their characters.
(cont.) ...I have a friend who work in this industry. He explained to me the many facets-screen test, scrutinizing process- the casting or choosing of an actor, have to go through to specifically play a character. You should read the choosing of Chris Evans to play "Captain America",very interesting indeed. Now,with Rogen, He miscast himself as The Green Hornet. Do you understand where I am coming from?. If I were Rogen, I would shave my head, grow a goatee and play a psycho. That would be the...
(cont.)...the breakthrough He is looking for. Just because the new fad in Hollywood is to play a crime fighter to get noticed, it does not mean that Rogen can put a Green Mask on his face and say: "Let's roll Kato".
@Usinji ,there is nothing exciting about seeing Seth Rogen w/ 30 lbs.less. Basically , He looks like "Porky Pig" w/ 30 lbs less. Google it, u will see some images.
In order to make a really successful film, everyone involved must be on the same page in terms of just what they want to accomplish- which is, to make an outstanding movie that people will want to see over and over again. With this POS movie made by Rogen, NO ONE will want to see this travesty other than brief morbid curiosity, because NONE of these actors have any business being in the movie to begin with. Having a movie filled with horribly bad casting is the kiss of death for any movie.
@ttfn101 ,Not to mention the continuous and annoying rescheduling of this movie release because of the bad rap it is getting. It should go straight to DVD. Do you want to see a good movie?, I highly recommend Kick-Ass. Best movie I've seen in a while....I haven't laughed so hard in a movie in ages and Hit Girl.....totally bad ass. Hope it inspires some girls to go kick ass on these moron parents posting on youtube that think this movie is inappropriate. This movie totally kicks ass.
Look at all the movies of this genre that FAILED over the last 40 years. The latest failures are GI JOE (bad acting, casting, etc), The latest Superman movie, the Batman movies with Michael Keaton, Clooney, and Val Kilmer. Except for the latest Batman movies with Christian Bale ( I would NOT have casted him for that part, either), almost all of them were HIDEOUSLY made POS movies that should have not been made. This latest Green Hornet POS movie is just another one on that awful list.
Their faulty thinking is that in order to make a good movie, you just need to get a popular "flavor-of-the-month" actor who is popular at that moment. This is EXACTLY why these movies FAIL at the box office, and why they NEVER will succeed. When you have HORRENDOUS acting, direction, casting, and producing, the end result is a bad movie that no one wants to see. Put me in charge of this movie, and I can make it work, and it would be a tremendous success. I would get the RIGHT ACTOR to be in it.
It angers me to no end that Hollywood has not the slightest clue as to how to properly make a movie. They know NOTHING of casting, acting, direction, nor of writing for this kind of genre of film. All the Studio heads in Hollywood that green-light these projects are nothing more than financial bean-counters whose only concern is to get the most popular person available, instead the RIGHT person to do the job at all levels of movie making. It's really not that difficult to make a good movie.
Yes, I do think that he could very well do the job as Britt Reed. I would have to be there at the auditions to see for myself, though. Reed's character is modeled somewhat like Bruce Wayne's in the respect that he has obvious duality in his character, and has a strong sense of vengeance in him to fight back against crime and those who do it. I think that Weatherly can fit the bill IF he has that look and attitude that is needed to make Reed's character come through.
@ttfn101 I applaud your outrage. However, I would argue that it's the STORIES that are lacking. Used to be a time when a director would read an interesting story, and be inspired to direct a film about it. Now, the suits try to figure out whats gonna make the most money (Garfield, Addams Family, A-Team, etc), THEN they get some hack to paste together a flimsy story. They hire famous names to get the audience excited... hell, they even throw in "3D"... but in the end, the story still sucks.
@flicklefish You're absolutely right about that- the stories which would help drive the movie via the plot-line are essentially absent from any discussion of whether the movie is worth watching as well. Coupled with bad to horrific casting, you have all the makings of a HORRIBLE movie that very few, if any, will want to see.
It MUST start at the top- which are the Studios that green light these projects in the first place. They MUST know what they are doing, and for the most part, they don't.
@ttfn101 Makes me yearn for 1982. The best year for movies. You ever google movies from 1982? That was the motherlode. With the suits running things and churning out product, instead of art.... the future looks grim.
Who SHOULD be considered as the Green Hornet "Britt Reed" once a REAL attempt is made to make a REAL Green Hornet movie? Well, I still think that Clooney and Jet Li should do this. They are both still young enough to make a movie together, and it would work perfectly. If Clooney still doesn't want to make it, then I think that Greg Kinnear should be considered. Why Kinnear? He has the look and persona that I want as Britt Reed. He has all the qualities necessary and I think he would do well.
raulcitraro, I agree with you on this. Rogen is way out of his league here as the "Green Hornet", and should have realized that from the get-go. He is a raunchy comedian at best, and has NO BUSINESS being in this movie whatsoever. As to whom would have been a far better choice? George Clooney and Jet Li together in this movie would have been PHENOMENAL casting like it was supposed to have happened in 1994. Sadly, Clooney turned down the role, and that was that.
Hello Everyone. Sorry if this info has already been talked about, but the latest info that I have heard, is that this monstrosity POS movie is going straight to DVD!
This is better news than the possibility of it going nationwide "to a theater near you", as the phrase goes. This latest straight to DVD news is just more proof that this POS movie should never had been made, and Rogen should NEVER been allowed to embarrass it like he has. Let's hope that this movie will quickly be forgotten.
@ttfn101 ,What I have heard is that is kept being pushed back to a later date in January. I guess, they have read what the hard-core fans have been writing and Hollywood is beginning to think ,this movie is not gonna be able to pull it off. I saw some of the scenes being shot and Rogen is not convincing. He has a stun double who does not even look like Rogen,it does not cut it.
@ttfn101 ,I have nothing against Rogen,He is a good stand-up comedian, but representing the Green Vigilante is a leap of faith. If they were making a movie about the sitcom "Happy Days", I would be supporting his possible cast as "Potsy",now that is a good decision.
Seth as the Hornet that is sad, Dam I think Charlie Sheen or Keana Reeves would have been a better choice as they are in a closer time frame to being a fan of the original and would have been more believable to the charecter.
@yumyumsashimi ,extremely sad. This is a terrible mistake, does not honor the late Bruce Lee. I think Rogen has to go back to his roots, being a stand-up comedian.
@koolwen51 ,agree 100%. I am not even curious to see Seth Rogen playing The Green Hornet. This is offensive to the hard-core fans. There are a lot of comments everywhere about him playing the character. People have seen fighting scenes, acting scenes,u name it and everybody agrees on something,He ain't The Green Hornet, does not look credible. The weight loss is not the issue here. He would have been better as Mike Axford.
@mayhem9024, it's ok. I'm more interested in checking out the film and having a good time while I'm at it. I've noticed the same things you have about Seth Rogen and you make an excellent point about Michael Keaton(my favorite Batman). I'll wait till December when the movie comes out.
There is nothing interesting in checking Seth Rogen trying to play The Green Hornet. It's not the issue that he lost 30 lbs to play this character. He either has been ill-advised or it is his own vanity project since his last two movies were boring and under performed. Either way he does not represent The Green Hornet,he does not have the looks nor does he have the skills to play such a complex character.
(cont.) I am not saying he is bad, he should stick to the market niche he has helped developed, the slap-stick comedy. He is good at playing nerdy-geek-pot -smoking characters.
@albatani27 ,Batman was not about Michael Keaton, was about Jack Nicholson. The movie was good because Nicholson's acting ability. Batman 2,because Nicholson was not in it,went down the drain.
I'm going to wait and see the film before making any decisions about Seth Rogen as the Hornet. It's not fair to judge the film or Rogen's performance sight unseen. Plus if the comedy is done the right way it will enhance the dramatic elements.
Michael Weatherly I think would fit the Green Hornet , and Kato should be played by someone who looks more manly and not like an emo bitch from the back ally dumpster. Most likely an unknown. But that's just what I think. And I am compareing the ones I chose to Seth Rogen and the man whom is playing Kato in the new movie,
@albatani27 agreed. I think people are overestimating the amount of 'comedy' that's going to be in this movie, I think the comedy is only there to lighten up the action - similar to the Indiana Jones movies.
I still want to see the movie. Anything new of The Green Hornet is going to e a Godsend. Look how long it took for them to make a movie. I'm also excited over the new GREEN HORNET book by Terry Salomonson, which reveals the entire history of the radio, comic and TV series.
The big wigs at Hollywood are as stubborn as a mule. History is full of examples. Look at Batman ,they have to reboot the whole franchise. They got the right guy this time (Bale) ,excellent script and great director( Christopher Nolan) and the fans were elated. Spider-Man,the same w/ Tobey Maguire, great drama actor,he even looks like Peter Parker and of course Sam Raimi as director. Iron Man (Downey Jr,), and the list goes on and on.
@raulcitraro actually he lost weight worked out built up muscle and says he plans to deepen his voice when in the green hornet role and he also plans for green hornet to actually fight unlike in the show.
@mayhem9024 ,Losing weight, deepen his voice, building up muscle is not going to change the fact that he does not look the part. I have already seen some of the fighting scenes being shot nearby where I work and He does not look credible. His stun double does not even look like him. Again,he is good for slap-stick comedy but not for The Green Hornet.
@mayhem9024 ,Gary Coleman is a good actor but you would not cast him as KATO. I even think Jim Carrey would have been a better choice to play The Green Hornet but not Seth Rogen.
@raulcitraro [pee wee isn't being cast look just drop it stop being a troll on his video seth cares mor ethan you guy's if you don't want to see it ok but don't bitch about teenwitch get a guy raul get a girl party live a little don't spend you rlife here now if you excuse me i got a date.
@mayhem9024 ,I just hope Seth Rogen think about it and re-work the whole movie where He plays Mike Axford. I think the guy playing Mike Axford (
Edward James Olmos) would be better as an old Green Hornet. Seth Rogen ain't no Green Hornet. It does not matter if He loses 60 lbs,He still does not cut it as The Green Hornet for crying out loud!
@mayhem9024 ,Seth Rogen has developed a nice market niche,I give him credit for that. Having said this,He should stick to playing the nerdy-geek character. Slap-stick comedy is where He shines. Playing The Green Hornet will be a step back. I am not trying to put him down but he should stick to his "guns". Look at the "Rock",he perfectly understood what He is good at. His strength is comedy and He has stuck to it even though He has the body to play even "Hercules"
@raulcitraro actually rock has done serious movies one he plays a sheriff who is nearly beaten to death he got great acclaim rogen's doing what ock did proving he isn't just a nerd.Besides look at denzel everyone said he's just a face you started with carbon copy so stay a funny guy now he's considered one of the baddest guy's in showbiz.label's don't work man it's about what you can do no one can judge until they see.
@mayhem9024 ,like I said,Seth Rogen has developed a nice market niche, nerdy comedy. He is good at it, why fix something that ain't broken?. Yeah, I saw the Rock playing the sheriff being beaten to death, the Rock looked the part, however, the movie did not perform at the box office. Listen, Seth Rogen is being ill-advised,since his last two movies were bad "someone" told him, "you have to play a vigilante, someone with dark needs so u will be back on the map,"
(cont.) He decided to cast himself as The Green Hornet".. He might have lost 30 lbs,got an acting coach, worked out,etc.etc. but unfortunately, that is not the issue. Do u know who Pee-wee is?. He has done a lot of acting, has a lot of range but being cast as Wolverine would not work out. Let me give u another example, Mel Gibson, great acting skills, good looking, looks almost any part but if being cast as 007,James Bond, would not work out.
(cont.) Do u understand?,there are certain roles that go to a specific actor,it has to do w/ talent and among other things w/ "CHEMISTRY". The hard-core fans just don't think Rogen has the "CHEMISTRY" to play such a role as The Green Hornet. "CHEMISTRY is extremely important,is like when u like a chick, want to go out w/ her,etc..etc. but if she "feels" there is no "chemistry" there is nothing u can do to be liked by this girl.
(cont.) Then u think,I am going to lift weights, gonna change my weardrobe,etc.,etc. however, the chick doesn't dig u. It is not your fault, however,in the horizon, there was this chick whom u used to date but u "think" u need another chick to fulfill certain "needs",do u dig me?,do u understand me?. The hard-core fans do "feel" the "chemistry" between them and Seth Rogen playing The Green Hornet. I hope this explanation will clarify any doubt.
@koolwen51 jason can't do american accent and is to well i don't know obvious tony jah? not tahat cool they have a real martiel artist as kato who's also a musican and rogen and gourdney have said eventually hornet becomes a fighter they said they wanted to get away from the fact kato was cooler than hornet it was the kato show were he some how fell and hornet saved him and got the girl.Hornet stood around alot! they even said kato's bigger then his sidekick they want to change that.
ttfn101, Since this guy is not listening,we should come with some suggestions. Every Green Hornet fan who understands the character should not go and see this movie. We should start protesting everywhere and let Rogen know that his bloated ego is not going to damage a great franchise. As far as I am concerned,I am not watching this movie at all!!,not even out of curiosity. JUST DON"T GO!!
I assume would that this is not a modification of one of the two remaining original cars used by Bruce Lee and Van Williams in the original TV series.
I am one of the very few die-hard fans who remains excited about the Grenn Hornet. However,Seth Rogen representing him, is not exactly what I am excited about. Rogen would have been last choice or better yet,not even considered to play the role of the Green Hornet. He would have been better as Mike ,the journalist.

Another Hollywood Zionist ruins a cool comic book character by acting like a silly clown. As far as I can tell, he has ruined the main character of the original story. They draw people to the theater with cool cars, and music. Then they ruin it by showing people acting like imbeciles.

If this flick bombs I would like to see someone else take this iconic classic, and do it justice like they did with the bat man installments of Bat Man Forever and The Dark Night which were done in a vain that I could really appreciate.

Sadly, Rogen doesn't know nor care about this at all.
ttfn101 1 year ago
Someone like Van Williams from the 60's TV show is a great place to start. That is a great template for whom I would want to see play the role. Could it be NCSI's Weatherly? Possibly. Or Greg Kinnear? Also a good choice. I would NOT stoop to the idiotic level of what Hollywood always does, which is to cast a re-tread like a Keanu Reeves, Will Smith, or Tom Cruise in this role. My rule of thumb is "the right person for the right job", and applied here more than ever. Hollywood always does that.
ttfn101 1 year ago

Through it all, he has BE Britt Reid in look and form.
ttfn101 1 year ago
@ttfn101 Jet is unfortunatly a bit old for this part. Look at Bruce when he played Kato and you'll see a much younger person. He does have the skills (both as an actor and martial artist) but he's simply not the right age. I have no idea who this new person is playing Kato, I've never seen him. But I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt till I see his performance. I don't know if Seth will drag him down, but let's give the new guy a fighting chance. He could be good.
ZFSBoss2090 1 year ago
Yes, I WOULD make a great Green Hornet movie. I absolutely guarantee that. If someone out there can provide the financing, I would re-make Rogen's POS movie into something that would rival "The Dark Knight". It would be an instant success, and people would want to see it over and over again. I would KNOW whom to cast as Britt Reid / Green Hornet, and also as Kato. I would get script writers who KNOW what they are doing like Paul Dini and Bruce W. Timm, and I would get the RIGHT ACTORS as well.
ttfn101 1 year ago
(cont.) According to this movie Britt Reid is a irresponsible rich boy that when he sees his father had been killed, decides to become a crime fighter. Have we seen this before?....Iron Man ,perhaps?.
raulcitraro 1 year ago
@raulcitraro Yeah, Rogen is borrowing from other movies of this genre to put in his POS movie, because he doesn't know better. In short, he has NO IDEA whatsoever of just this movie is all about. Rogen knows NOTHING of the history of the Green Hornet, nor does he know WHY The Green Hornet's car is called "The Black Beauty", nor does he even know or care as to what relation Britt Reid is to the Long Ranger.
This movie is a DUMPSTER FIRE, and is headed straight to nowhere like a bullet.
ttfn101 1 year ago
Agree w/ u 100%. I don't like the comedic tone given to The Green Hornet but modern day ppl might like it. On my own personal opinion this is Seth Rogen playing himself as the nerd-geek character we are used to seeing w/ a Green Mask. Trailers always have a lot of action to attrack audiences but the whole movie could be a total failure. Remember,"Jonah Hex"?. Anyways,This movie has copied some tones from Spiderman, remember the uncle?. "With great power, comes great responsibility".
raulcitraro 1 year ago
@raulcitraro Here's what Rogen SHOULD have put into this POS movie that sounds like what he borrowed from Spiderman Peter Parker's Uncle: "With Seth Rogen's movies, comes great stupidity".
Well, the only thing that we can truly hope for, is that in about 5 years or so, someone can come along, and do a COMPLETE RE-BOOT of this franchise, and do it right the FIRST time out. I would do it in a heartbeat if only I could get the financing from the right studio that WANTS to make a great movie.
ttfn101 1 year ago
(cont.) I grew up w/ The Green Hornet. He was straight forward, dark and edgy. But what else can you expect from doofus Rogen?. He insults everybody's intelligence,he caters to an audience who thinks smoking drugs and being a loser is cool.
raulcitraro 1 year ago
"Those who watched the 60s TVs knows that unlike the campy Batman TV series of the 60's TV, the Green Hornet is relatively straightforward. This trailer shows us otherwise. I had expected that the cinematic version would highlight how the Green Hornet was a convincing criminal even though he is not. I expected the movie version should show the green hornet strengths how he devised plans to outwit his nemesis and solve crime not what a goofball he is. "
raulcitraro 1 year ago
Doofus Rogen does it again, playing himself as the nerd-geek character we are used to seeing. No way in hell he represents Britt Reid/Green Hornet. This is The Green Hornet comedy show. What a waste!.
raulcitraro 1 year ago
I guarantee that this turd of a movie is going bomb at the box office, in similar fashion to the awful and equally as hideous "Jonah Hex", which only got, what, 8 million at the box office this past weekend? There's no way this movie even comes close to that low box office total that "Jonah Hex" made, and that was very low by expectations across the board.
As for real fans of this character, I can say that Bruce Lee is rolling in his grave right now at this travesty and mockery of this movie.
ttfn101 1 year ago
@ttfn101 ,it does not cease to amaze me that just because the movie has special effects, some ppl say is a good movie. This is the same as "Pineapple Express" w/ doofus Rogen playing the Green Hornet. Seth Rogen does not represent The Green Hornet,he is playing himself all over again.
raulcitraro 1 year ago
@ttfn101 ,Yeah!!, Jonah Hex what a terrible movie. This Green Hornet movie should be called "Kato". Doofus Rogen trying to be cool by giving Kato more screen time.
raulcitraro 1 year ago
We WERE right all along- Rogen has made this once great and iconic crime-fighting character into a alcohol-swilling party boy doofus. The trailer has definite moments of Rogen-esque gutterball "humor" (and I use that term lightly), along with a healthy dose of miscasting of Rogen and whomever the other guy is in playing the lead roles of The Green Hornet and Kato.
The costumes look HIDEOUS on them, and ridiculous. They both look like two guys at College Coed Frat Party trying to get drunk.
ttfn101 1 year ago

When an director quits a film two weeks before it was supposed to start shooting, you always hear about "creative differences," when it's really because the filmmaker, after having one too many screaming fights with the star, said "It's him or me."
raulcitraro 1 year ago
as BP's rationale for why its Deepwater Horizon oil spill has been sending as much as 100,000 barrels of crude oil gushing into the Gulf of Mexico every day. When a wintertime movie has a lousy opening, you often read quotes from the studio's distribution chief blaming it on an East Coast snowstorm.
raulcitraro 1 year ago
(cont)...at least until they've had a chance to squeeze some moola out of opening-weekend audiences who've been gulled into showing up on Friday night by the studio's trailers and TV spots. Still, it's one thing to keep critics away - and another thing to come up with a preposterous excuse for doing so. I guess people in Hollywood just love to tell whoppers, which is the nice way of saying that when things go wrong they come up with explanations that are about as believable
raulcitraro 1 year ago
But if the early word of mouth on the movie was already bad, it just got worse with the news that Sony has now acknowledged that the studio won't be screening the film ahead of time for critics. It's a tried and true strategy that studios use to prevent bad buzz from spiraling out of control,

He is to much of a dork for this part no mystic or cool about him. I think bad boy Charlie Sheen should play the part of the son of the Hornet and Lucy Liu play the daughter of Kato now that would put a great twist to the charectors and perhaps some love and sexy shots as well.

This is why I keep saying that Hollywood has NO IDEA WHATSOEVER of how to make a movie of this genre, and still cannot figure it out no matter what.
ttfn101 1 year ago
Does any sober individual out there even REMOTELY believe that Rogen can pull this kind of character off as truly believable? I say that, because obviously, someone in Hollywood at whatever studio that is producing and bankrolling this P.O.S movie had to have been drunk or comatose to allow Rogen to play Britt Reed. Whomever that man was who gave the okay to allow this disastrous movie to be made should be fired immediately and have his I.Q checked.
I guarantee this is going straight to DVD.
ttfn101 1 year ago
There is a STRONG parallel between Batman and The Green Hornet. They both are INTENSE and DRIVEN to shift the balance of power away from those who create evil and crime, and to help those victims of crime.
Most people have NO idea whatsoever of the link between The Green Hornet and The Lone Ranger. The Green Hornet is the Nephew of the Lone Ranger, and is such, a man with an intense need for Justice against those that commit crime, and to help the victim of it.
ttfn101 1 year ago
This has been flagged as spam show
The Green Hornet is NOT a slap-stick comedy. How many times do I have to repeat myself?. The character is dark and edgy, there is no comedy here. Rogen does not represent the part. He thinks He can play anything He wants. Michael Weatherly ( NCSI) would have been a much better Hornet. As far as Gondry is concerned,He is a good director, however, with Rogen,He is not gonna be able to do his magic.
raulcitraro 1 year ago
@raulcitraro: I don't think that I could have said it any better! The farce that is the Rogen-driven P.O.S movie is going to be on full display once even those who know nothing of Green Hornet see it for themselves. Rogen is so completely and totally miscast as Britt Reed that it DEFIES description and logic.
For anyone to get a good idea of just what kind of TRUE characterization we want to see in Britt Reed/The Green Hornet, just watch the old 1960's TV show, and see Van Willams play him.
ttfn101 1 year ago
@ttfn101 Exactly right!!, the fact that He lost 30 lbs. is not an issue and that's what I am trying to explain here. He has neither the personality nor the chemistry to play Britt Reid/ Green Hornet. I was 14 when the old 1960's TV show was running, it is my own personal opinion that Van Williams and Bruce Lee were very difficult to replace thenand now, these guys had the right chemistry
raulcitraro 1 year ago
(cont.)and acting chops to make the show a hit. Unfortunately back then the "Big Wigs" on ABC did not want to extend the show to one hour. Williams and Lee were fed up w/ these decision-makers therefore the show was canceled. Going back to Seth Rogen, don't get me wrong, I don't have anything against him. He can continue playing his nerdy-geek characters but please leave The Green Hornet alone!. Thanks
raulcitraro 1 year ago
@raulcitraro: Yes, and it needs to be said once more- The Green Hornet is NOT a screw ball and sophomoric high-jinx comedy that Rogen is going to try to make it into, like what he has done in his other movies. This is a SERIOUS movie along the lines of The Dark Knight, that features a man DRIVEN by a strong moral sense of right and meting out Justice against Crime, but trying to do it his way with his friend Kato at his side. He does this in the shadows of the night without fanfare and glamour.
ttfn101 1 year ago
@ttfn101 ,Seth Rogen said that this movie was going to be like a comedy w/ a lot of action. What He said really PISSED ME OFF!! plus the fact that He miscast himself as The Green Hornet, what a bad joke.
raulcitraro 1 year ago
@raulcitraro: I actually am now liking your idea of Weatherly as Britt Reed! I have seen him a couple of times on NCIS, and I honestly think that he could pull this off, provided that I see how serious and intense that he is, and if he could pull off the duality of character that Reed has.
He has to have those dark and intense qualities as The Green Hornet, along with a debonair flair easy-going charisma about him when he is Britt Reed in Public as his alter-ego at work, or parties, etc.
ttfn101 1 year ago
This is largely due to Hollywood incompetence, and the lack of overall talent and vision coming from the Studio heads at Paramount, Fox, Sony, and WB that oversee these projects. This is why practically 60% of the big movies coming out now have Will Smith or Tom Cruise starring in them, and those movies BOMB at the box office every time. No talent, no creativity, and a complete lack of brains and financial oversight in Hollywood that causes these movie turds to continue to be made...
ttfn101 1 year ago
@ttfn101 I agree with everything you just wrote except the fact that they will bomb. Name one Tom Or Will movie thats bombed at the box office in the last ten years. People will always go see the big budget movies no matter how bad they suck, Thus its a vicous cycle that won't change anytime soon. :/
Usinji 1 year ago
@Usinji I do like both actors, but my point was that Hollywood studio execs start by casting most movies of this genre with those two guys, and they end up being totally miscast- like the total dud "Wild, Wild, West", the movie based on the great 1960's TV show. That movie was horribly cast and was an embarrassment, and I walked out of it in the theater because it was so bad.
I really liked Cruise in "Mission: Impossible", and thought it was a great movie.
ttfn101 1 year ago
@Usinji The real issue I have, is that is Hollywood is so one-dimensional it's casting of movies- they start off with Tom Cruise or Will Smith first, and that generally is the pecking order of how movies are cast for the most part.
For example, it is not generally known, but the first person that they wanted to cast as Batman back in 1988 was Tom Hanks! Why? Because he was famous, but not because he was right for the role. Hanks was offered, but turned it down, thank goodness!
ttfn101 1 year ago
@ttfn101 ,Yeah I remember that. They ended up w/ Michael Keaton a total miscast in my opinion. Batman did good at the box office due to the great expectation created by Jack Nicholson playing the Joker. It was just great!. Now, the sequal,Batman returns, bombed at the box office.
raulcitraro 1 year ago
@Usinji Movies should be cast with the right people, not who's the most famous. This is why movies bomb- the wrong people playing the wrong parts, and it sinks the whole movie, with the incompetent "help" of bad directors, plots, production, etc.
Rogen has a famous following in Hollywood amongst the under 30 crowd, but it's those of us over 40 who actually watched the Green Hornet on TV 40 years ago that want to see a GREAT movie that is well-done by the right people, and not by some fat doofus.
ttfn101 1 year ago
@ttfn101 , I would say under the 20 crowd. I could not have said it better. I am over 40 and don't like Rogen movies. I saw a couple of them, "Observe and Report" and "Pineapple express". and in my own personal opinion, they were mediocre. His drug-related jokes and nerdy-geek characters are not funny to me. This guy should go back to his original roots.
raulcitraro 1 year ago
@ttfn101 ,What about Avatar and Iron Man and The Dark Knight?. I think these movies turned out a profit.
raulcitraro 1 year ago
1983 was a great movie year, too- Jedi, Krull, a Superman movie that had of all people- Richard Pryor in it (Yikes!), War Games, and a few others that were memorable. Since I worked at a Movie Theater then as a College summer job with free popcorn, that was a great summer for me!
As I see it, there are far fewer good movies that are high quality coming out now then there was way back when. Except for Avatar, Hurt Locker, and maybe two others, there just aren't that many good ones out anymore.
ttfn101 1 year ago
@ttfn101, Forgot to mention Kick-Ass
raulcitraro 1 year ago
As I have said before, you DON'T cast Pee Wee Herman to play Superman, you DON'T cast Joan Rivers to play Wonder Woman, and you DON'T cast a fat & dopey gutterball like Seth Rogen to play The Green Hornet. This one of the biggest reasons why movies FAIL in Hollywood- no one wants to see them because they are bad movies. As anyone who has seen the Trade publications already knows, Hollywood is LOSING big money at the box Office steadily over the last 20 years or so, and this is the reason why.
ttfn101 1 year ago
@ttfn101 Seth Rogen actually looks like he is shaping up man. I'm excited to see what he will look like in the film. I hope he brings a funny yet believable tone to the film.
Usinji 1 year ago
@Usinji ,He has been miscast. If the movie was "Happy Days" and He was being cast as "Potsy", a lot of people would be supporting that. To me losing weight is not an issue. There is no "CHEMISTRY" with Rogen playing the Green Hornet and the hard core fans.
raulcitraro 1 year ago
@raulcitraro lets not judge till we see it man. I thought Heath Ledger was miscast as the joker. I was wrong. He did a brilliant job.
Usinji 1 year ago
@Usinji ,Heath Ledger has a body of work or resume very interesting, He had a lot of range. You can not compare Rogen w/ Ledger. I have already seen two of Rogen's movies and like I said, He caters to a different kind of audience ,basically the 20- year crowd -still immature- who still think drug-related jokes are funny. Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike Rogen , it is just that He is the wrong actor to play The Green Hornet. He should stick to slap-stick comedy and The Green Hornet (cont.)
raulcitraro 1 year ago
(cont.) has no room for comedy. I had the opportunity to see some of the fight scenes and He does not look credible at all playing this type of character.
raulcitraro 1 year ago
@raulcitraro sorry man but Heath Ledger played in Ten things I hate about you and A Kights Tale. Awful movies catered to the casual audience just for his looks. Not till later in his career did he do anything worth mentioning. I'm giving Rogen a shot and you should too. You never know he might do a good job. Give him a chance bro. :)
Usinji 1 year ago
@Usinji ,The fan base or the true hard-core fans of The Green Hornet, believe that Seth Rogen is a total miscast. The Green Hornet is not a slap-stick comedy that Rogen is used to playing. It is a dark and edgy persona. The Green Hornet has nothing to do w/ Seth Rogen-infected comedy. This is like saying that Robert De Niro is playing Kato. Seriously, Seth Rogen does goofy-geek characters very good. Please stick to what u do best. Don't damage the franchise.
raulcitraro 1 year ago
@Usinji ,Funny to you but not funny to the large majority of the Green Hornet's hard core fans. I have seen some of the fight scenes in L.A. and his stun double does not even look like Rogen. On close-up shots, on the fight scenes, Rogen face expression does not carry the intensity of a fight. He basically looks like Seth Rogen wearing a Green Mask. These are details that "Marvel" study very carefully when choosing the actors who are going to play their characters.
raulcitraro 1 year ago
(cont.) ...I have a friend who work in this industry. He explained to me the many facets-screen test, scrutinizing process- the casting or choosing of an actor, have to go through to specifically play a character. You should read the choosing of Chris Evans to play "Captain America",very interesting indeed. Now,with Rogen, He miscast himself as The Green Hornet. Do you understand where I am coming from?. If I were Rogen, I would shave my head, grow a goatee and play a psycho. That would be the...
raulcitraro 1 year ago
(cont.)...the breakthrough He is looking for. Just because the new fad in Hollywood is to play a crime fighter to get noticed, it does not mean that Rogen can put a Green Mask on his face and say: "Let's roll Kato".
raulcitraro 1 year ago
@Usinji ,there is nothing exciting about seeing Seth Rogen w/ 30 lbs.less. Basically , He looks like "Porky Pig" w/ 30 lbs less. Google it, u will see some images.

@ttfn101 ,You don't cast Robert De Niro as "Kato:.
raulcitraro 1 year ago
In order to make a really successful film, everyone involved must be on the same page in terms of just what they want to accomplish- which is, to make an outstanding movie that people will want to see over and over again. With this POS movie made by Rogen, NO ONE will want to see this travesty other than brief morbid curiosity, because NONE of these actors have any business being in the movie to begin with. Having a movie filled with horribly bad casting is the kiss of death for any movie.
ttfn101 1 year ago
@ttfn101 ,Not to mention the continuous and annoying rescheduling of this movie release because of the bad rap it is getting. It should go straight to DVD. This latest Green Hornet POS movie is just another one on that awful list.
ttfn101 1 year ago
Their faulty thinking is that in order to make a good movie, you just need to get a popular "flavor-of-the-month" actor who is popular at that moment. This is EXACTLY why these movies FAIL at the box office, and why they NEVER will succeed. When you have HORRENDOUS acting, direction, casting, and producing, the end result is a bad movie that no one wants to see. Put me in charge of this movie, and I can make it work, and it would be a tremendous success. I would get the RIGHT ACTOR to be in it.
ttfn101 1 year ago
It angers me to no end that Hollywood has not the slightest clue as to how to properly make a movie. They know NOTHING of casting, acting, direction, nor of writing for this kind of genre of film. All the Studio heads in Hollywood that green-light these projects are nothing more than financial bean-counters whose only concern is to get the most popular person available, instead the RIGHT person to do the job at all levels of movie making. It's really not that difficult to make a good movie.
ttfn101 1 year ago
Raulcitraro,
Yes, I do think that he could very well do the job as Britt Reed. I would have to be there at the auditions to see for myself, though. Reed's character is modeled somewhat like Bruce Wayne's in the respect that he has obvious duality in his character, and has a strong sense of vengeance in him to fight back against crime and those who do it. I think that Weatherly can fit the bill IF he has that look and attitude that is needed to make Reed's character come through.
ttfn101 1 year ago
@ttfn101 I applaud your outrage. However, I would argue that it's the STORIES that are lacking. Used to be a time when a director would read an interesting story, and be inspired to direct a film about it. Now, the suits try to figure out whats gonna make the most money (Garfield, Addams Family, A-Team, etc), THEN they get some hack to paste together a flimsy story. They hire famous names to get the audience excited... hell, they even throw in "3D"... but in the end, the story still sucks.
flicklefish 1 year ago
@flicklefish You're absolutely right about that- the stories which would help drive the movie via the plot-line are essentially absent from any discussion of whether the movie is worth watching as well. Coupled with bad to horrific casting, you have all the makings of a HORRIBLE movie that very few, if any, will want to see.
It MUST start at the top- which are the Studios that green light these projects in the first place. They MUST know what they are doing, and for the most part, they don't.
ttfn101 1 year ago
@ttfn101 Makes me yearn for 1982. The best year for movies. You ever google movies from 1982? That was the motherlode. With the suits running things and churning out product, instead of art.... the future looks grim.
flicklefish 1 year ago
Who SHOULD be considered as the Green Hornet "Britt Reed" once a REAL attempt is made to make a REAL Green Hornet movie? Well, I still think that Clooney and Jet Li should do this. They are both still young enough to make a movie together, and it would work perfectly. If Clooney still doesn't want to make it, then I think that Greg Kinnear should be considered. Why Kinnear? He has the look and persona that I want as Britt Reed. He has all the qualities necessary and I think he would do well.
ttfn101 1 year ago
@ttfn101 ,what about Michael Weatherly from NCSI?. I think ,He would be an excellent choice. Jet Li is great ,however,I think He is "overused".
raulcitraro 1 year ago
raulcitraro, I agree with you on this. Sadly, Clooney turned down the role, and that was that.
ttfn101 1 year ago
Hello Everyone. Sorry if this info has already been talked about, but the latest info that I have heard, is that this monstrosity POS movie is going straight to DVD!
This is better news than the possibility of it going nationwide "to a theater near you", as the phrase goes. This latest straight to DVD news is just more proof that this POS movie should never had been made, and Rogen should NEVER been allowed to embarrass it like he has. Let's hope that this movie will quickly be forgotten.
ttfn101 1 year ago
@ttfn101 ,What I have heard is that is kept being pushed back to a later date in January. I guess, they have read what the hard-core fans have been writing and Hollywood is beginning to think ,this movie is not gonna be able to pull it off. I saw some of the scenes being shot and Rogen is not convincing. He has a stun double who does not even look like Rogen,it does not cut it.
raulcitraro 1 year ago
@ttfn101 ,I have nothing against Rogen,He is a good stand-up comedian, but representing the Green Vigilante is a leap of faith. If they were making a movie about the sitcom "Happy Days", I would be supporting his possible cast as "Potsy",now that is a good decision.

He would have been better as Mike Axford.
raulcitraro 1 year ago
@mayhem9024, it's ok. I'm more interested in checking out the film and having a good time while I'm at it. I've noticed the same things you have about Seth Rogen and you make an excellent point about Michael Keaton(my favorite Batman). I'll wait till December when the movie comes out.
albatani27 1 year ago
There is nothing interesting in checking Seth Rogen trying to play The Green Hornet. It's not the issue that he lost 30 lbs to play this character. He either has been ill-advised or it is his own vanity project since his last two movies were boring and under performed. Either way he does not represent The Green Hornet,he does not have the looks nor does he have the skills to play such a complex character.
raulcitraro 1 year ago
(cont.) I am not saying he is bad, he should stick to the market niche he has helped developed, the slap-stick comedy. He is good at playing nerdy-geek-pot -smoking characters.

This is like casting Gary Coleman as The Green lantern.
raulcitraro 1 year ago
@albatani27 ,Batman was not about Michael Keaton, was about Jack Nicholson. The movie was good because Nicholson's acting ability. Batman 2,because Nicholson was not in it,went down the drain.

I'm going to wait and see the film before making any decisions about Seth Rogen as the Hornet. It's not fair to judge the film or Rogen's performance sight unseen. Plus if the comedy is done the right way it will enhance the dramatic elements.
albatani27 1 year ago
Michael Weatherly I think would fit the Green Hornet , and Kato should be played by someone who looks more manly and not like an emo bitch from the back ally dumpster. Most likely an unknown. But that's just what I think. And I am compareing the ones I chose to Seth Rogen and the man whom is playing Kato in the new movie,
raulcitraro 1 year ago
@albatani27 agreed. I think people are overestimating the amount of 'comedy' that's going to be in this movie, I think the comedy is only there to lighten up the action - similar to the Indiana Jones movies.

Seth Rogen should look deep down and reconsider.

@mayhem9024 ,Losing weight, deepen his voice, building up muscle is not going to change the fact that he does not look the part. @mayhem9024 ,Seth Rogen has developed a nice market niche,I give him credit for that. Having said this,He should stick to playing the nerdy-geek character. Slap-stick comedy is where He shines.

Let me give u another example, Mel Gibson, great acting skills, good looking, looks almost any part but if being cast as 007,James Bond, would not work out.
raulcitraro 1 year ago
(cont.) Do u understand?,there are certain roles that go to a specific actor,it has to do w/ talent and among other things w/ "CHEMISTRY". Nice modifications to a 1966 Chrysler Imperial.

The whole point is that Seth plays a super hero. It's hilarious, and he's absolutely amazing.... It'll be great
