Does anybody know where I can get a decent copy of the mp3 of this version? The 12" is only available in vinyl and the CD is $60. Tried downloading from this video and the quality is terrible.
I wonder if mc lyte knew she was in a bi-sexual themed video! very subtle and awesome... also, i like THIS multi-cultural, cross genre collabo better than Beyonce and lady gaga (even though i can't lie, i do like their song too).
This is probably like one of the first songs to feature a rapper in a song. Of course today, its almost unheard of not to have a rapper featured in a song. But I remember seeing this video when it first came out, and thinking, thats weird. Lol
@GRODY Eh -- she's doing the job, because her contract/agent/record company stipulated it. I don't think it's so much sadness as it is just being "Cool". You had to be there in the 80s....
@kedgwell I was in the 80's and I also have eyes. I can tell when someone looks either depressed or bored. Ever been bored or depressed at your job (which is apperently what she's doing?)? Ever had to do stuff you didn't want to?
For a N.Y.C. B-Boy in Berlin in the middle of the 'Acid House' Movement. This was a song you could get the hardest US Army Brother to the dance floor. Lyte broke it down for the Ladies in a way that gave them props and control without being hoes. This song got crazy Club Play, and introduced Sinead to U.S. Hip Hop Heads.
I liked Sinead and MC Lyte both separately before the collaboration. Lion and the Cobra is one of my favorite albums. Too bad this version of the song isn't on the album. Lyte is a pioneer in Hip Hop and Sinead was really breaking ground at that time. Whom ever A&R'd this collaboration was genius for getting Lyte on the track!

I used to work all the time to this song, until some burnt jerkoff came along and push the weightbar down too far when i was bench pressing and snapped my elbows in half. All the sudden for no reason at all, my arms fell off and bug arms started to grow in from where my human arms used to be. Its strange because next thing i know, im in a roach motel and im stuck in goo. My face pealed off from the goo and then the burnt fucker squeezed the box with me inside of it. My insides oozed out all over
Nightmare 4 just screams, bleeds, and reeks of 80's- similar to movies like Teen Witch, Sixteen Candles, & Ferris Bueller. It's one of my favorite retro movies. It also has the best characters- everybody says "oh, they were just like my group of friends in high school!"
"i beat around the bush and give you all sorts of clues"... if thats not the biggest tip off that she's a major rug muncher... other than the fact that her head is shaved like g.i. jane, there's clitoris shaped flowers throughout the entire video, she's getting hugs from a Hulk Hogan sized woman while she keeps her hands in the chest level pockets of her dykes-on-bikes leather jacket... oh yeah and the swaying two-step that shes tries to play off as actually being serious about = epic
