  • thank you for the tips. my goal is beautiful skin. i'm always there!!

  • I thought using St. Ives face scrub twice a week (or just once a week) would remove dead skin cells, so why the need to use glycolic acid every day? and when do you use it? as it sounds very harsh to use it every day? I use A scrub once a week, and cleanser and toner and moisturize at the end with sun screen. Is that good?

  • I saw a competent dermatologist like 6 yrs ago I think his last name was Berck. Anyway, very professional and a man of integrity -- kindof like me pre-torment chamber and out-of-youtube

Anyway, so I spoke to him about my sensitive facial skin and he told me, basically, it's genetics -- the recessive genes. It's like your parents and their ancestry chain all had brunette hair but you have blonde hair kindof thing

Being a $100M RED is recessive too!

  • how about a physical exfoliant everyday instead, is that possible or too much?

  • Is there a gentler alternative to Retin-A? I used Retin-A before and it nearly burned all the skin off my face! It was very painful.

  • Doc, is it safe to use sub-lingual glutathione if u want a more lighter or fairer complexion.....?

  • Someone mentioned washing the face with glycolic acid, benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid, but I'd heard that the ingredients just go right down the sink drain and that they might irritate the eyes.

  • So basically,

Morning: wash with a gentle cleanser in the morning, sunscreen, moisturizer

Night: make up remover, exfoliating cleanser with salicylic acid, topical antioxidant serum, moisturizer

    Is that a good routine?

    I'm 21.

  • Is malic acid a good substitute for glycolic acid?

  • Hey, is it essential to use toner everyday in order to prevent clogging of large pores? :)

  • thank you doctor :-)

  • what if sunscreen brakes u out??

  • Comment removed

  • what about lactic acid? is it less effective than glycolic acid?

  • @piggiesmalls4 lactic acid = milk... softening but nothing else really

  • why is it that you prefer vitamin c? my glycolic acid lotion has vitamin e in it

  • my moms skin cracks and is dry on her wrists and she use mouistureisers but it still cracks how do u fix it

  • i have dark circles and im 17 will a dermatologist prescribe me anything??

  • how do i remove pigmentations ?

  • what product has glycolic acids? i have no clue..

and which have VIT C in skin . please i need to kno . thanks

  • If I use retin-A @ night, can I wash with benzoyl peroxide wash in the morning?

  • If I use retin-A @ night, can I wash with benzoyl peroxide wash in the morning?

  • what are good ingredients for moisturizers?

  • is alpha hydroxy acid a chemical exfoliant?

  • is that a picture behind you? or a realy bookshelf. just curious haha.

  • DOC IS IT SAFE TO USE RETIN-A CREAM UNDER EYES...IAM 25 TY VERY MUCH

  • @lovemakeup07 Yes, it is generally safe to use Retin A cream under the eyes in people without sensitive skin, and if a patient of mine was doing so, I'd recommend using it in the evening, very lightly, and using a daily sunscreen with an SPF between 15 and 30 with UVA protection.

  • What are some topical antioxidants you would recommend and where can you buy them?

  • How could i get rid of ingrown hairs on my thighs? I have use Skin Tight and i exfoliate my body everynight.

  • @tidyboo31: (PART I) Ingrown hairs on the back of the thighs or any place are very difficult to cure without having them physically pulled out. Warm compresses (a washcloth run under warm water and squeezed out halfway) applied to the area for 5 minutes 2-3 times a day can help the body reject the ingrown hair and gentle chemical exfoliants like glycolic or salicylic acid can help to open the pore so that the ingrown hair can be extruded more easily. (CONTINUED...)

  • (PART II) You mentioned that you exfoliate every night but which product do you use and what is its strength? While the Skin Tight may soothe the skin I don't know that it will significantly cure your ingrowns.
