Seriously, I wonder if any pipe major comes on here, and takes advice from any of you no names out there. Ricardorodriguez81.....Transistions aren't simply for telling the judge that a new tune is coming, but they are a musical way to easily set the tempo for an upcoming tune, and it gives you a little slack to do so. I'm glad to be ablle to see this band competing and hope they go over tot he worlds this year. They used to be Gr.2 Champs if you all remember.
@heilanjames Oh I see you have to have a name do you to make a comment....As for transtions ,,,used in the right way they can be bloody effective,,,likewise used poorly they can be in effective...so you both make valid points..
you should try coming over to scotland to all the major pipeband compeitions and some minors over here aswell and see how you guys get on coz the sound of yous make the civy band from were i come from sound better than yous!(and the civy bands r quite crap !!)
Nice but watch the strathspeys - butchering them, especially the triplet runs. Can barely hear the middle note most times. Style, not aggressive over-clipping.
Would be better minus the transitions. They serve no purpose but to chew up time and tell the listener what they already know - that there is a change coming. The "transition" is dead, less is more!
Agree with comment re Slow Air - it is a huge wank with no melody to speak of. Won't find anyone whistling that one, lads.
Good performance guys in an odd setting. Enjoyed being there to see it. Hope you guys get to the Aussie's next year. A couple more snares would really make it.
