In the US there is no consistent way of saying university or college. Some refer to their selves as a college, others are universities and contain colleges within for each area of study.
In sweden we use allot of english words thou everyone understands english here, so we often speak something called "swinglish" a mix of swedish and english
In English, this song expresses how I feel word for word. I wish I could understand the Swedish translation, and I wish this song were translated into Spanish and Italian, the only foreign languages I speak. In fact, I'll take a look now....!
That this show has been translated to Swedish and not danish, shows a part of the swedish mentality that sometimes makes me wanna move there. Sad that I really suck at understanding you sweets :( As soon as I'm speaking to someone living more than 100km from Øresund, I don't get a thing...
So, since there are no colleges in Sweden, they just used the English word--I guess that's fine since the thing is set in NY after all, though I'm wondering if the average Swedish audience knows the word?
Anyway, these guys seems to be doing a good job--so they're not a carbon copy of the original, so what? They singing's great!!
Sweden (like so many countries) has become very Americanized. We have American shows on tv and we go to see American movies. Everyone in Sweden have heard about college and knows the word. :)
i love this song so much and even in swedish its beautiful. i love wen they all harmonise.. aaahhhh ahhhh ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh that bit gives me goosebumps!
All the swedish puppet designs were personally approved by Rick Lyon, but the actual puppets were built by Petter Lennstrand, who has been doing the show "Allram Eest" on Swedish tv. There´s loads of his stuff on YouTube.

Denmark should have this as well. But I guess this is the closest to Avenue Q we'll get.

The word "shit" doesn't actually mean the same thing in Sweden as it does everywhere else. In Sweden it means closer to "oops". XD

She's different to the other versions I've seen of her. Does anyone know if Rick Lyon did these puppets again?
Anyway, great cast! Hope you guys enjoy it in Sweden!
