  • LOL! Look at those Bubblegums!!

  • I cannot believe this was out there...I actually WORKED for Koby Shoes at Lakewood and Telegraph Rd near Downey, Ca. in like 1980 or something...I remember they wanted to promote me and get rid of current Mgr because she kept staging phony robberies...I went to a carlot instead and made GREAT money and never looked back...what a blast from the past!!

  • Wow! Those shoes are just ugly enough to come back into style today! :p

  • I love the fact that they are "inflation fighting prices"

  • LOL, you are so right and to think I was four years old at that time and remember this commercial.

  • @TerryT1976 Terry, I worked for the parent company at the time, Kobacker Stores in Columbus, OH and their in-house ad agency that did this spot. I remember the ad well although I thought the BTS thing was a little goofy. My best memory of Koby's was the time we did a roller skate promotional sale that went absolutely crazy in greater LA and the sister chain Pic-Way did the same deal in metro Detroit and it went nuts too. Skating was big in the day. Thanks for posting this commercial.

  • @crazyromanian1 It's my pleasure. My fond memories for Koby's Shoes were the commercials. As a kid, I recall seeing one where they had a sole of a work boot at the end with the Koby's Shoes logo. I knew of two stores-one in Compton, CA and North Long Beach in a shopping center with Zodys. Both later became Payless stores.
