  • My step-brother Greg was born when this tune was #1 on The billboard Pop Charts, which is ironic, for he doesn't engage in 'Jive Talkin'" I like this version better, by the way.

  • When the Bee Gees wrote this song, they didn't know what jive talking meant! What a great song! Thanks for posting.

  • it´s so stupid compare Jonas Bro. and Bee Gees. please don´t do that it´s ofensive.

  • Happy Birthday Barry Gibbs. Love your music.Today is September 01,2001.

  • Happy Birthday Barry Gibbs. Love your music.

  • Wow this is live? holy ....!

  • Makes you want to undo the top 4 buttons on your shirt!

  • @Eltamir and buy some rogaine for your chest if you are lacking in the chest hair dept.

  • 9 people that disliked this video are jive talkin', they're really no good

  • while im no fan of disco at all, i can say that this music is so much better than whats going on today, put this stuff back on the radio and tv, anything but todays stuff

  • @507bikerman ... exactly !!! absolutely love this tune .. corkies & chemin de fer's

  • I love this live version way more than the One Night only version, sadly Maurice(R.I.P) seemed to use his guitars less and less during concerts as the decades passed,& by 97 & the start of the ONO concerts rarely used them(propably down to his back which like Barrys was bad),which was a big shame givin the amazing energy he had, complementing Barry perfectly and framing Robin in the middle really well!!

  • you got your money's worth when you went to one of THEIR concerts!!!

  • 9 people were NOT JiveTalkin'

  • Ils sont tous trois tellement beaux, avec leurs torses velus ,j'adore cette version!C'est là qu'on prend conscience de leur immense talent !!! ET vous avez vu tout ce monde???Incroyable!!!!!

  • cant believe i use to listern to this shit 35 yrs ago,,,,,

  • I majored in jive talking.

  • Tweet this tonite when Prez speaks.

  • FEEL THE ENERGY IN THAT ROOM..... WOW !!!!!

  • When the asteroid hits every nation will only be allowed to keep 1000 citizens...all 144 nations...the rest will be eliminated to conserve food until the sky clears and earth can grow crops again, survivors will hole' up in the"bottomless pit'like" U.N. underground bunker...one man in the bunker will emerge as their leader...

  • I like all Bee Gees' songs!!

    loumoodfan

  • I like all Bee Gees' songs!!

  • wow, this is groovy and i'm only 23

  • Holy crap is that bridge in 7/4 ?!

  • @r0berito Technically it can be considered 7/4 however it is played enough times to fit back into the 4/4 flow. Check it out for yourself!

  • For all of the cats in office.

  • Moog Bass is awesome in this song!!

  • @LeBigMoneyShow I agree!! ;-)

  • I like the title of this song. It's what I think of politicians, news media and talk radio. They are just '"Jive Talkin'"

  • This is my favourite live version of Jive Talkin.' Barry's natural voice sounds sensational on this. For the life of me I don't know why this concert (from the Spirits Having Flown tour of 1979) hasn't been released on DVD. The Bee Gees at their peak.

  • @JalanRumpai If you want a copy of that concert, send me a message.

  • dedicated to mainstream media.

  • For Harry Reid

  • I can't believe their voices sound so fantastic live! Even my young kids love these guys.

  • All media, all poliical parties. This is what they are doing,"Jive Talking".

  • I dedicate this song to Youtube and Glee- Who loves ya baby??

  • Why do people always forget to mention Queen while ranting agaisnt bad music?

  • Why would anyone in their right mind bring up the Jonas Brothers when watching the Bee Gees?

What a joke- this is like comparing ground round to Fillet Mignon!!!!

None of these so calls can measure up to these guys.

They are classic and pure talent.

  • This was during the Saturday night fever craze so you can imagine how intense the audience was. Plus they didn`t dress like white women and rape little boys

  • Lets dance people...c'mon now.

  • @WhattsHisName you tell em!

  • disssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssco vibes ! oh yeah, take me back ! no hiv, and coke wasnt supposed to be addictive .......

  • Damn, that's way better than the studio version, so much faster.

  • Great memories of Disco nights in Germany with the lads while serving in the Forces, bladdered every weekend and scrapping with the Turks & Spicks in the streets! Disco was f-----g fun tho while it lasted! This group were way ahead of the rest.

  • Thank God for Barry otherwise this group would have zero stage presence. Robin looks totally out of rhythm, Maurice is cautious. Love em' though.

  • My Disco Days! What a fun time!

  • i dont even like disco but this sounds so good

  • It's more R&B than 'disco'.

  • @LukeShoveller This is rock'n'roll Bee Gees style, which maybe even can be considered to be progressive in a way--the synth stuff is so good and so focal. For this performance the crowd goes wild when the keyboard stuff comes up. If it is disco then maybe disco was not that evil.

  • You're right. People get confused as to what type of music the Bee Gees were actually creating from 75-79, the majority being far from disco, 'disco' wouldn't have these rock band basics for a start, let alone the sound!

  • The Bee Gees are my all time favorite group..I still listen to them today.

  • Great stuff.

  • loved it,, classic ,,

  • Robin was Maurice's fraternal twin...but he looked like he could have been little-brother- Andy's identical twin

  • love it!!!! fits with the WH Healthcare Plan- charge of the 70s brigade!!! get your disco ball ready, price controls coming!

  • this would never fly these days. never.

  • In fact, it does still fly these days. The Gibb brothers were the most played songwriters in the world as recently as 2006, beating even Lennon / McCartney. Their catalogue is in the top 5 most lucrative in songwriting history.

  • yeah it would everywhere except in america where we have such high quality taste such as lady gaga and adam lambert etc etc etc

  • Eww 3:13 but amazing song!!!!

  • This should be Obama's Theme Song..!

  • YEEAA ! love it !! great song

  • Wow they look coked up. I know I would be

  • Jonas Brothers and Bee Gees? are you kidding me?? wtf? is everyone on crazy pills :( Can we not compare real musicians to fabricated television tween bands? J. B. could probably be compared to perhaps the Monkees but Bee Gees? Puhlease

  • @mruqqayya Compare the Jo Bros to the Monkees? Not even them! The Monkees could hit Gold record in two days and that was without heavy TV/internet saturation or Itunes.

Maybe try the Brady Bunch, well no, on second thought, The BB has more talent too.

  • @JEDI7ACEN, I totally stand corrected! Ha you are so right! Brady Brunch rocked too, so I think we can just maybe compare them to themselves. They suck.... enough said.

  • @mruqqayya

Even three of the Monkees could play instruments (Micky learned the drums) so that puts them above the Jonas Brothers.

Not a fan of the Bee Gees disco era, but their early stuff certainly proved they were for real. And in retrospect, even Saturday Night Fever beats anything the Jonas Brothers or N'Sync ever recorded.

  • *dances

  • To all politicans in the world. we will see on dec. 20, 2012.

  • uhh what?

  • That is when they can stop with their,"jive talking."

  • Man, who doesn't love this jazz? I do!!!!

  • nice to hear the well-deserved applause at the end

  • This song is killer

  • they all looked sexii n hot back then on stage

  • Best version of Jive Talkin' the Bee Gees ever did. I wish this concert would come out on DVD. How good is Barry's natural (non-falsetto) voice on this song!

  • Jalan, that is not the best recorded version of Jive Talkin' and there was a concert version of that song released on one of their live albums which really captured the song. I'd know that cut if I heard it.

  • Unlike some of you.... I was alive and well playing this 2 album LP. There was life before CD's and digital. These guys were as tight live as they were in the studio. MOST of the artists now lipsink and charge 200+ a ticket. There are only a few "Pink's" who still do it old school. I love it that disco has made its comeback and will takes its true place in music history.

  • Nicely put.

  • only problem is where is all that cigarette smoke associate with the Disco era :)

  • come to kl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • massive product abuse

  • 1979 was their year until the world decided to go insane and declare disco sucks in exchange for watered down disco and shit songs promoted by MTV.

  • @Edhallick Real issue was that people love the bee gee but record company didn’t like the fact that their sound was based solely on their love for R&B disco never die

  • I almost can't believe Barry's voice in a live setting. That's remarkable.

  • maurice is always the most energetic! did anyone notice his beer belly?

  • One of my favorites! The Bee Gees, wonderful people, wonderful musicians!

    Thank you for the video!

    Groovinwalrus

  • I like most Bees songs, but why didn't Barry sing this way ALL the time??

  • awsum song =D

  • Great video ! Thanks ! Love the Bee Gees !

  • Barry is a God.

  • Barry plays the guitar and Maurice plays the bass.

  • oh the things i would do to have hair like Barry

  • Barry and Maurice ..... Yummy Times Two :) Woooooooooooooooooooooo!

  • Are Jonas Brother fans really going here just because those Disney boys said so?

Dang man, we need people like Bee Gees, Herman Hermits, Jimi Hendrix, The Who, The Beatles, Run D.M.C, and Don McLean! Not people like Jonas Brothers. We don't need another cookie cut-out band, we need real music! Not that JB suck, but they're not something to be excited about. Come on! Like solos from Blue Oyster Cult, or Black Sabbath!

    This is "Tragedy". pun intended.

  • @aCrzyJya Herman Hermits, WOW, lol ther so annoying

  • @aCrzyJya black sabbath are satanists,i prefer people who like jonas brothers than black sabbath, anyway bee gees are asweome and it is "tragedy" when people disrespect one of the biggest bands of all time

  • At the time I didn't like em but when I was a kid I remember a great interview where they said the percussive rhythm for this track came from the sound of the train on the tracks whilst on a train bound for Miami , last week I took that same train and you what , its true I ain't jive talkin

  • Verstan Sie Jive?

  • This is for all of the Politicans in DC

  • I guess the Bee Gees are like a lot of the groups of the late 60's and 70's. They may die and pass away but their music will always live on in the hearts of the people that loved them. For all their fame and money they endured a lot of tragedy and hurt. God bless them!

  • make me wanna get up and boogie you feel me brotha

  • i feel ya, but like to shake my goove thing instead!

  • Look its the Geico cavemen lol. I like this song.

  • PRICELESS !!

  • I rather listen to this than the Jonas Brothers. I really don't like the Jonas Brother's music, it's just not my style, but the Jonas Brother's do have talent. They just don't compare. But it's really stupid that a lot of girls claim to like this song just becasuse JB mentioned it.

  • who wouldn't listen to this song? it really is stupid that the JB dictate the lives of some people. obsessing over celebs is so boring to me.

  • WOW listen to that crowd! This was a truly awesome show, top form! A great live recording should always include the crowd, it adds to the electricity!

  • Why is it so difficult to find a download of this song that isn't live and sounds clean?

Do they erase them due to copyright infringement or something?

  • I say Aliens from the far future visited the brothers Gibb in 1972 and gave them a vision of disco 1975..it's the only explanation.

  • my thoughts exactly

  • YES..... Bee Gee's FOREVER!!!

Me loves you....with all my heart and soul!

  • i know a guy that this song was wriiten for!!! and his last name is TALKINGTON LMAO....JIVE TALKINGTON!!! damn he can talk some shit!

  • whoo hooo jive talking that music is awesome is like sweeeeeet

  • 70s...

that's the time of REAL music

  • You haven't heard 090909? Apparently the Jonas Brothers mentioned Bee Gee's as their idols and all these little girls who know absolutely nothing about 60's, 70's, 80's music came rushing in thinking how awesome it is. In some effort to appease the Jonas Brothers in noticing them. Sad really.

  • LOL!! those little girls are the same little girls who don't even know who Skynyrd, Hendrix, The Who, AC/DC, Zeppelin, The Doors, Eric Clapton, Grand Funk Railroad, The CCR, The Guess Who, The BTO and countless other greats... (ok u said the same thing... lol but i asked them myself and they were clueless) god their so in the dark about what good music really is... it sickens me! The Jonas Brothers aren't shit compared to them!

  • fantastic, fabulous!!! Bee Gees forever.

  • i've met barry. he's like 8 foot tall!!! bore a passing resemblance to dr manhattan.

    bee gees 4eva!

    xx

    .

  • 8 foot tall? come on!! do not be so exagerated. Hes should be like 6'5

    please

  • This is definatly the theme song of my life!

    Such a classic!

This band is my inspiration so is, The Beatles,Jonas Brothers,Prince,John Mayer,Rascal Flatts! I know I am missing some but thats all I can name right now!

  • ....the jonas brothers? another Disney manufactured band....is your inspiration? for what?...not music i hope.

  • This is such an awesome song! I don't think you can listen to this and not feel happy.

  • Man I love that bass line

  • What a classic

  • Too bad the Jonas Brothers suck compared to the Bee Gees (and everyone else). xD

    Note: My opinion ^

  • this was god of 70's music in europe

  • Where did this clip come from?

  • What i've heard this is from Japan..

By the way I found out bee gees a while ago, I'm 16 and never heard them before´..they have realy good songs.

  • Great songs, brilliant live band. check out the clips by live by request on youtube. fantastic

  • It's good to know that someone your age likes music that was popular when I was in grade school. That's cool.Disco will probably come back in some form or other.

  • It has, europop was its successor.;)

  • Yeah, when i was 6 this was my favorite band (and its now tied as my fav along with The Who and Def Leppard), and now im only 14 lol. =)

  • The Spirits special, these recordings have circulated from that.

  • IN OTHER WORDS, NO MORE BULLSHIT TALK!

  • suck on that, jonas brothers

  • Comment removed

  • fantastic, fabulous!!! Bee Gees forever. thanks for the video :)

  • Yeah I heard a lot of that tonight... this song was playing in my head during the whole scheel.

  • Old guy jokes  || V

  • supposedly the base line to this song is the same sound you get driving over the julia tuttle causeway in miami

  • I know the rhythm guitar scratch is the same sound you'd get if you drove over a bridge leading to Criteria studios, but the bridge is not longer there.;)

  • I freakin Love this song!

Im not even from that era, But they are awesome

    One of my favorite songs

  • Just Love J J J J Jive Talking lol

    GR8 Group, post + share

    Thanks Laura

  • Good times, man, nuthin but good times.......

  • wow me too

  • robin had a very nice body mmmmmmm

  • aww abrry nice bod jk but seriously hes hot

  • Jive talkin',one of the best songs of the Bee Gees, and Bee Gees, the best band of all time.

  • I used to hate these guys back in the day. Today, I love em. Great stuff.

  • Same here. Why is that?

  • all truly original art looks (or in this case SOUNDS) ugly at first... some musicians are just ahead of the curve... its funny how hind sight is 20/20 and some music truly stands the test of time and better... I have noticed that the beach boys music is more pertinent now than ever... the further we get from the american dream and ideals they represented... the more tantalizing that dreamlike fantasy is to esacpe into... the BeeGees were another tremendous vocally talented group. great video!

  • cool - so whats rap about?

  • Jive Talkin' one of my top 5 favorite bee gees songs: 1. You Win Again; 2. Jive Talkin'; 3. Secret Love; 4. My World; 5. Fanny (Be Tender with My Love) thanks for sharing this video.

  • ilove this song but know one else i know likes it that are my age

  • how old are u?

im 21 n i think its pretty mint yo!

    x.o

  • Man I bet these guys saw more ass than a toilet seat.

  • wow original

  • Thanks.

  • this is wonderful stuff! this is the music of my teenage years....and i love these guys still!

  • same here....the best!

  • this is the soundtrack of the jonas brothers life they said (L)

  • thats the reason i watched this video too!!

  • haha yeah i watched for the same reason

  • OMJ! same!

  • same :)
