I remember playing this game back in 1993 on a TV with its usual tinny speakers. It's great to hear the bass from the music through a modern soundsystem, so thanks for sharing the playthough! Favourite music must had been the level where you fought Kano. I totally forgot about the "test your might" screens!

The big deal between Genesis vs SNES Mortal Kombat is that Genesis had a code that turned on blood and fatalities. Can't believe you didn't enter the code.

@gusto1978 If you don't enter the blood code at the start of the game, the fatalities are toned down versions of themselves, depending on the violence in the original fatality. Sub Zero has this stupid uppercut, Kano has a kick to the chest I think and so on. Once you enter the code they regain the original arcade fatalities.

I agree with flashdoom. No blood, no real fatalities, no fight against Reptile (wasn't Noob Saibot in the first game too, or only in the second one?) and the fighting style is not good either. If the player has to use the freeze and uppercut combo all the time to win, maybe it would have been better to chose a lower difficulty level, but have more interesting and less repetitive fights.

Shadow, the blood code is a cheat, and isnt allowed in a longplay. As you can tell Im not really a huge fan of this one. Number 2 will be alot more better I can promise that. If you've seen my UMK3 run, you'll know what to expect :)

Interesting playthrough, though I've seen some much better ones, even ones that fought Reptile.... and ones that didn't spam the same thing so much. Freeze, uppercut, freeze, uppercut... It was effective, but kinda boring. :/
