In fact there are multiple things wrong with your theory, there's no way the trailer is after revelation. Why would the Director be there if he got arrested in Reconstruction, why would Wash be there if he's with the blues not Meta and is no longer friends with Meta, why would York be there if he died in Out of Mind. There you go that's how Maine should be dead but we'll see in Season 10.

Also, he was obviously a lot weaker back in Season 9 than he is in Season 8, and that isnt counting the AI which he lost in S6, in fact his suit's power levels are stressed in S8 as well. @dimoment Meta was pinned down by Tex's gunfire. Wash got him out. Meta also left himself wide open when he was slashing at Tex during the Ice Fight sequence. Wash's follow up stopped her from taking advantage. If it weren't for Wash, Tex would have taken the Meta down.
