I saw Thin White Rope for the first time 88 or 89 without having heard them - I was dragged along. I was blown away, especially by this song and the feedback bit at the end (3:48 onward). Sadly they could not recapture their live magnificence on record.

Wikipedia says this was their last concert ever. That alone makes it an epic recording. Girlfriend gave me a tape at the time full of TWR and I played it over and over and over.. this music seems to have a hypnotic quality
