  • Thanks I couldnt get the battery door off until I saw your video.

  • canon users dont need a cable ;) we got buttons and everything on our battery grip ;P

  • when he uses the vertical shutter on the grip, he fails to take pictures, I think he needs to put it in remote mode

  • would this battery grip also work with the d5100?

  • thanks for this demo :)

  • Hey i just wanted to ask, where buy the LCD cover??? I cant find... :(((

  • @Stoney1717 ebay has it.

  • Comment removed

  • surely just buying another battery means that you get more shots if your not going to use the portrait shutter release. so you have purchased a space to store two batteries basically wasting your money.

  • were do u get the cable or does it come with the battery grip

  • hi the shutter of my battery grip won't work do it needs to be 2 batteries in order for it to function...

  • just bought mine

  • just ordered mine now :) they should put you on commission ;)

  • hey great vid. i just bought same grip on ebay comes w/2 batteries only thing the one plastic holder for battery on left side is bit chipped so battery doesnt stay in there. but once i close the cover and lock it its fine. what should i do? return it for new one? afterall, i did pay for new grip. and they are nice ur right.

thanx for ur vid u answered my ques. on how to get "continous shooting" i luv my nikon d5000 best camera i ever owned.

    :)

    debbie

  • @dayone5

to get the continous shooting change the S on the release mode to like stacked boxes.

  • it's working on D3100?

  • @videoconmigo no it doesnt

  • what lens do u used?

  • @arihfiq 8:21 18-105

  • I got it! BUT i went to plug in the cable for the second time (the first day i had it) and the tip of the cable broke off in the battery grip. Now the shutter is unusable. I was pissed to say the least. Now i decided to just do what you do and use the actual shutter release all the time. Still think it was worth the money. It would have been better if it had a wheel to mess with aperture and shutter on the battery grip. Would make things a lot easier if you shoot in manual if youre movin around.

  • Thanks for the video! I ordered mine from linkdelight off ebay today along with another battery! Should be here in a couple weeks (it said between the 11th and 25th of january) seeing that its coming from Hong Kong.

  • how long did It took you to get the grip?

  • @CMYKeiZ I ordered mine today (December 26) off Linkdelight's account and it said it will be here between the 11th and 25th of January. Hope this helps!

  • @heyitsRyanS

mines taking forever lol, ordered it on the dec. 12. and still havent gotten it

  • With the screen protector on can you still turn the screen completely around so the nikon logo is facing out or is the protector too big?

  • What kind of screen protector is that?

  • worth video .. thanks bro.

  • Very well explained review.. I have one question.. do I need to setup something to make the vertical shutter button aside from attaching the cable? I just had the battery grip today and the vertical shutter doesn't even work. Btw, I'm only using 1 battery. does this affect?

  • thx man great review....

  • it takes your camera look bigger and better lol

  • to me the only reason to have a battery grip is for filming. 'Cause I only take few seconds to change to another extra battery.. But I think D5000 only let u to record about 5minutes on HD. (I dont know)...

  • @Luckzzz You can record as long as you've got SD card space, 720p

  • what is the brand of your battery grip?! thank you.

  • thanks very good information : D but dont you think it kinda sucks? what battery grip does not have a dial attached to it. i mean i'm not blaming you and your battery grip = = nikon just sucks they arent making all the cameras compatible with one another ... sad. and i own a d5000 and regretted, cause aint got no money left for d90...

  • great demo, but i dont get it one thing..

i have to plus that cable to shoot with the grip shutter??

i mean it dont work without that?

  • im pretty sure everything was repeated atleast 3 times.......

  • hey i noticed that the batteries that come with the grip have a higher Voltage than the standard batteries that come stock standard with the camera. Does the Camera act any differently as a result of this??

    Cheers

  • @robbietreffers I saw this product on amazon with 2 batts, EN-EL9 rather than EN-EL9a

NOW some say they mix some dont, as you say one is 7.2, the other 7.4 I just orderd one without batteries and i'm going to get a nikon offical

  • Great review

  • will this work with the nikon d3000? please reply asap....does the nikon d3000 have the wire connection? im bout to get the 3000 and im lookin for a battery grip but i dont want one that has to use the remote connection for vertical shutter realease

  • The d5000 grip with the 2 batteries has no lip on the grip. Which makes it not mold perfectly with the camera, can u give me a link to the grip u got?

  • so is does not work with

  • hey where did u get that screen protector?

  • 9 minutes for saying that it can hold either 2 bateries or 1, that it has a nice texture, and that it has a shoot/AF button if you connect it via the cable?

Things like "Oh, where's the cable?", "Oh, I didn't see it turn green, maybe you saw it turn green?" etc. are just annoying, you go on and on about the same 3 characteristics for 9 whole minutes.

But, thanks for your effort, thogh, I gues...

  • @Palidrvce011 How rude of you to leave that comment. Didn't your parents teach you good manners? This guy made a very helpful video and I'm sure you got some useful advice from it so why complain?

  • @Palidrvce011 stfu

  • i'm realy thinking about getting this thing for my nikon d3000 but i still got one quetion: can the bar that goes into the batterieslot move inside?? is there some kind of wobbling ?

ah and one more question...how solid is the srew in the grip? i read a report in a forum that the phottixgrip broke of the camera...is that realistic ?

  • Hey Im a beginner photographer sorry but, whats the clear piece of plastic that goes on the screen? because i would love one

  • I bought this grip for my D60, I got mine for $42au. Although mine uses an IR shutter release, and not an annoying ugly cord.

  • what lens do u have on the camera?? and what do you use it for???

  • Brandon

Thanks for the great demo. I purchased the battery pack based on your demo and I am really happy with it. One question where did you buy the rear LCD screen protective cover for your Nikon D5000? I have been looking for one like that.

Any info you can give me would be appreciated. Keep up the You Tube videos.

    Jim

  • @corelmanjim Search on ebay nikon d500 screen cover, there usually 10$

  • where did you buy that nikon D5000 screen protector? xD

  • mine just arrived =)

i didnt order the pro one though,

whats the difference between the pro one and the B4V ?

  • @weebromat well then you didn't buy this grip did you haha

  • srsly, just get D80/D90 with MB-D80... or get the d200/d300 xD

d5000 is such a fail construction.

  • @Allegpl ur a fail at life

  • @ithree6mafia

too bad i'm WORKING as a photographer, and using double D700 with N24-70/2.8 and N85/1.4 :)

D5000 is total fail when speaking about ergonomics, and none grip can help this camera. Buttons, camera grip, no upper lcd, and minimal info around focusing screen. its just terrible. and i know what i'm saying, my GF has it... awfull camera.

  • @Allegpl yah you just named everything on the outside, it has everything bascially up to the nikon d300s, just packed in a cheaper body

  • @ithree6mafia are you serious? u hear what you are saying? :) only thing that D5000 and D300 has the same is their sensor (wich is not exact the same, different lowpass filters and different algorythms of image processing (exactly same thing like Sony A900 and Nikon D3x)

ok, so making a fast comparisation. (in next post)

  • @ithree6mafia D300(s) -51 point (15 cross) AF system(MC3500DX) -Af motor -Light metering wih no cpu lens -1/8000 shutter, 1/250 x-sync D5000: -11 point AF system (Multi-CAM 1000 - same as D200) -no af motor -no light metering w/o cpu. -1/4000, 1/200 xsync with no PC-out also i don't mention before, no second scroll, u have to get into menu to change MOST of settings... and far more. if u ever get a higher body, u won't come back to D5000.
  • @ithree6mafia

not speaking about lower FPS, no interval shooting, really retarded bracketing and few other things becouse these are just, lets say that "less important" for normal work..

  • @Allegpl well of course the d300s is better 600 compared to 1500 dollars , the d300s is what i plan on getting next

  • @ithree6mafia

its cool, but dont try to say that d500 is D300 in cheaper body, becouse it's not true. u may know that, i know that but someone might not, and may get suggested very wrong.

  • what website did you get the screen protector on?

  • 39 dollars US with 2 batteries on their site.

  • Nice vide I just purchased mine after watching your vid. I can't wait to get it now I'm slowly buying my stuff right now so when I do get the camera.... LOL I will have everything that I should need.I should be getting the camera kit this Saturday.

  • where'd you get your hard cover case for the LCD?

  • cool

  • I just bought this camera days ago. I am going to Europe this summer, would you recommend me to buy a battery grip or I would be fine with the camera battery????

  • @pink114pink regular battery can do 500 stills, battery grip 2x battery life, so 1000 stills

  • @ObeyBrandon but you also can just take 2 batterys with, it's much more compact

  • @ObeyBrandon i find i can actually get more than 1000 when using the battery grip with 2x batterys

  • Ok Thx obeyBrandon

  • uh Can you make Photo whitout the GPS kabel

  • @assessen yes but the vertical shutter wont work

  • @ObeyBrandon does the battery grip for d90 works for d5000 :)) .. tnx

  • how do u fit this in ur bag with the grip? is it nice and can u fit more

  • were do you buy that screenprotector?

  • @d3474mas73r search ebay, hard nikon d5000 protector

  • @ObeyBrandon thanks a lot!

BTW you're reviews are the best!

  • no, what i meant is that it doesnt have any sort of controls except for the vertical shutter button. so if you wanted to take a picture with the vertical shutter, change settings, and then take another pic, you would either have to flip the camera to change the settings or use the regular buttons sideways, seems kinda annoying

  • hey man, got a couple quesitons...how do the generic batteries that come with the grip last compared to the nikon one that comes with the camera? also, you might not be able to answer this since you dont use the vertical shutter button but maybe someone else will, how annoying is it to not have any other controls like a command dial or function button on the grip itself? does it get annoying using it in portrait mode and then having to switch to landscape to change settings?

  • @dmansley1986 i would say the batteries work great, i would say the same. im pretty sure you dont have to go iinto settings to change it to vertical mode, its just plug and it works

  • Hey bro just wanted to check wit u how long does it took to be shipped to u?

  • 2-3 weeks from hong kong or china

  • Thanks alot. :)

  • is this battery grip the same as the Zeikos ZE-NBG5000 Power Battery Grip

  • does it work with the d3000?

  • i heard so

  • /what bag did u have before this one? also i just ordered a lowepro rezo 120 aw how, do u think the grip will fit in this bag?

  • hey nice video! i just bought a d5000 :)

just wondering where you got your screen protector/how much? and what the pros/cons of it are? thanks.

  • hey man what is the model of the lens on the camera.

    Thanks

  • @imagesolutions its a 18-105mm vr

  • That LED is not the power; it lights up to indicate that the memory card is being accessed

  • Hi! Great review. I also have D5000 & just got the same grip, but I have a serious problem and I am not sure if it's common to all users of this otherwise great grip. I am not able to freeze autofocus while pushing the shutter button on the grip half-way. It immediately releases shutter. With original button I can press it half-way to focus, point it someplace else and then push the button to end, making a shot. I wonder if this is common for ALL those kind of grips or just mine?

  • lmao its used, and its the same price for a new one, rather pay a extra few and a little longer time

  • it works that was autofocus

  • I love this grip, I got it about a month ago and it is the best you will find like you said. I have the 18-200mm VR and it is heavy, Holding my camera with this grip on is so much easier.

  • Great review, got mine today!

  • Hell Yah i want this, could u also review ur nikon d5000, great reviews by the way im gettin my d5000 & i want this grip

  • Nikon D300s + battery grip = awesome

  • you have that!!

  • hell no

    i only have Nikon D40 + 35mm AF-S F/1.8 + SB-600 strobe

  • nice. love your videos
