Teagarden8650 its vidal that you understand that every athlete, even on an olympic level, has bad days where they dont perform as well as they would like to alicia simply had one of those days it dosent mean shes a bad gymnast.
Really the Olympics isn't just the event at hand. EVERY trial and qualifier leading to them is part of it. So to say 1 gymnast blew it is unfair. Unless you followed the team leading all the way up to the games you'd have no idea what others had bad days and how Alicia, the team leader, kept things together. Without her the games may never have happened for the US at all. The others never got down on her because they all know they could be the next to fall. They're all world class.

Natsia Lukins jumps were easier and she did a safe routine by staying away from the out of bounds line, incase she took extra steps on landings. Shawn Johnson did her thing, Difficulty points should be more rewarding then style points. Judging style is an opinion, Judging difficulty is a fact.

And in the meantime, she brought down the rest of the girls, which caused more deductions. She brought them down because they have witnessed Alicas poor performances in the past. she wasn't ready in 2008 either. She couldn't shake off her first mistake. The team tried to talk to her about it. But she wasn't mature enough in her career to handle it, just like in 2004.
She dominated at Nationals, Trials, and the selection camp. I dont see how you think she isnt ready, especially looking at her 2007-08 career. she was, like she said, "a little girl" in 04. She has matured and gotten better and proved herself between that time, i dont see where all this is coming from..

what is your problem? iit wasnt her fault at all. calm down. China won by 2.375. That's a really big cap that you cant really catch up to. so tell me 2.375 worth of errors Alicia had and then you can go saying she sucks... gah.

Yes it could have been caught up if the loser, Alica ness up girl, hadn't failed her team once again, as she always has done in the past. She missed her opportuntity for the olympics 2004 due to her mess ups. Just like the mess ups she performed for us last night. Another failing performance from Alicia. What a loser.

I'm not starting or stopping anything...I'm giving facts, which are... She shouldn't have gone to the olympics. She failed to perform big time, as she has always done in the past. And in the meantime, she brought down the rest of the girls, which caused more deductions. She brought them down because they have witnessed Alicas poor performances in the past. And they were already concerned this was going to happen with her. And so it did.

You have got to be kidding me. Just because Alicia is no Shawn Johnson doesnt mean she shouldnt have been on the team. What about what she did at Worlds? on floor? Are you really thinking about what you're saying, because non of it fits in with Alicia's accomplishments. And if Alicia wasnt put on the team it would be like leaving Chellsie or Nastia off. So i suggest you get your facts straight so you can back up your thoughts...

apparently YOU need to get your facts straight before talking such nonsence. She didnt make it to the olympics in 2004 due to several performances that she once again performed last night. One thing for sure, she is consistant. Always failing when it matters most.

she wasn't ready in 2008 either. She couldn't shake off her first mistake. The team tried to talk to her about it. But she wasn't mature enough in her career to handle it, just like in 2004.

She dominated at Nationals, Trials, and the selection camp. I dont see how you think she isnt ready, especially looking at her 2007-08 career. she was, like she said, "a little girl" in 04. She has matured and gotten better and proved herself between that time, i dont see where all this is coming from..

to the olympics or not. although alicia did mess up at the olympics, im not doubting that, im pretty sure that one mess up is not a 2.375 work of deductions, a mess up like that at most is about a .8 deduction, alicia did not lose Americas chance at gold, it was an already unattainable goal. china beat the WHOLE U.S, fair and square.

I think Alicia is a good person (I cannot prove this because i do not know her personally) and she's definitely a good addition to the US team and the Olympic team.
All the girls in team look up to her since she's the oldest and she even admitted in her interviews that she's kinda like the mother figure in the team.
