  • Why is Roger Glover dressed like the manager at an S&M Club?

  • J.S. Bach himself would have been proud with such interpretation of his immortal Toccata e Fugue..

  • Mix this video with Freewheel burning and you have a gamer heavy metal mash up.

  • @BlankoTV Funny, I too thought of Freewheel burning. :-)

  • Best clip ever! Best Guitarist ever!

  • SUPER

  • The Sequel to Highway Star

  • when ritchie plays in a band, the band is great.

  • @zanatural Same with joe.

  • wwwwwwwoooooooowwwwwwwww aaaawwweeesssssommmmmmmmm bbbbannnndddd

  • love turbo that game kicked ass

  • Who drives the old car.... Snoop dog? lol keep rolling fellas...

  • I used to see this video all the time on VH1 classics Metal Mania.Rainbow was very underrated in my opinion.

  • This song was running through my head repeatedly in 1982, then I forgot all about it (nearly 3 decades) until a few days ago when a local classic rock station played the entire "Straight Between the Eyes" album. Funny how that happens. Now I intend to purchase that LP, even if it is more AOR than heavy metal. Love that Blackmore solo on this song, too!

  • @DeadlyRamon I must say they really turned into a AOR band when Graham Bonnet replaced Ronny James Dio and after that they have been a mix between heavy metal and AOR with Joe Lynn Turner.. all from Difficult to Cure to Bent out of shape.

  • Ritchie looks like a pimp in that limo.

  • Una banda asi...quiero

  • GREAT solo from the man in black..!!!

  • I USED TO WRITE BLACKMORE FOREVERMORE ON EVERY FOLER AND CHALKBOARD ALL THROUGH HS!

  • Look at Ritche. Imo Slash inspered his style form him (cylinder)

  • basically this is Ritchie re-writing Highway Star with a bit of beethoven thrown in....

  • Ritchie simply the best, turner also has got my respect

  • Already loved and knew Rainbow(only had the Dio era stuff), but i didn't know this until i heard this on vh1classic and that solo blew me away! I gotta get this album.

  • its the Domino's guy.

  • what's the name of the arcade game in the video?

  • @downgoesforeman

    "Turbo" by Sega, released 1981.

  • Richie, "Highway Star" much? Seriously, this is Highway Star II.

  • @ThorOdinson14 Thought the exact same thing the first time I heard this song.

  • 14 people were dead on the Death Alley...

  • key board solo is the best

  • wow check out roger in this video :)))

  • I AGREE WITH YOU ALL...LONG LIVE TO R&R

  • BlackMoor was a fuckin musical genious.

  • this video is ToO MeTaL!!

  • This video reminds me of Judas Priest's 'Turbo Lover' and 'Free Wheel Burning' promo clips.Similar.

  • Hey, isn't the keyboardist here the guy who is touring with Billy Joel right now?

  • Love the keyboard solo

  • Bobby Rodinelli kixass

  • Bobby Rodinelli kixass

  • pole position.lol

  • @tecnoborg75 actually, this is Sega's Turbo.

  • Beautiful Ritchie's Solo

  • @blackmorefan14 Perfect dude, when you over play(wanking) like Malmsteen are you playing music or just showing people how fast your technique is.One note in a bar can say much than one hundred and twenty eight notes if you phrase the note a certain way .......but there's always that right time to go to 'Super Shed Mode'.

  • Why did 14 people dislike this??

  • @SG55OVCam I guess cause all of them are subhuman scum.

    This song is a masterpiece!!!

  • @Volve Too true!

I used to play this arcade game and was quite good at it!

  • Best part of this vid is Ritchie rubbing his hands in glee in the back of the car! Awesome!

  • 14 people cant taste the rainbow...

  • drives me crazy! so cool!

  • 2:34-5 is some insane speed

  • this song is just so fucking bad ass, great speed, and that solo is just insane, ritchie's fingers are all over the place,

  • Killer song.

  • David Rosenthal on keyboards! I went to the same high school (JP Stevens) and remember when he auditioned for Rainbow. After this he went on to play keys for Billy Joel for quite a few years.

  • 13 people need to be sacrificed to Dio.

  • 0:49 Ritchies the new evil monkey.

  • 1:30 ritchie is doing finger exercises.

  • this song is part of my work set in social studies class…as for the song itself…OH YEAH!!!!!

  • Great song from the Joe Lynn Turner era. Joe is one of the voices of rock.

  • I've seen this video a billion times & it just hit me. Dosen't Richie look like Al Bundy at 1:41.

  • Just listen to the solo from 2:06 - 3:00 . Blackmore The Greatest person of the century....

  • It's so great hearing these songs again. It's been a long while since hearing them. I was so into their music at this time with JLT singing. Always had their albums playing. They had so many great tunes. Never got to see them 'live' though. Rondinelli lit my cigarette once.....lol, Glover kissed me by surprise once (in Purple), and Blackmore stopped to talk for about 5 min once (in Purple). Great memories.

  • Ive got 2 words for blackmoore. YNGWIE MALMSTEEN.

  • I can picture some seriously hot looking chick moving to this tune

  • the jab on the chorus hugely reminds me of highway star but the whole song is killer!!!!!!!!

  • Holy shit!!!!!!! Dave Rosenthal is killing that keyboard!! I love it!

  • 3:01 Ritchie Blackmore....On the drums?

  • @fodnis3 Thats Bobbi Rondelli on drums

  • RITCHIE IS EVIL! TAKE HIS LICENSE AWAY!

  • Great piece of pure avesomness! : D

  • Classic musicvideo style! Is it me or does the Harley look slow? A remake with a Ducati is in order!

  • ritchie's nice playin and bobby rondinelli absolutely great!!!

  • my fave ritchie solo

  • drummer rulez!

  • sonrio 2 veces en el video!!

  • and at 3:22 too :D :D

  • This was one of the first bands RJD ias in. but this is rainbow with Joe Lynn Turner on vocals.

  • What is marque of that car ?

  • I remember this from my childhood! COOL! Thanks for posting. FUN...CLASSIC. IMHO.

  • A song that kills like "Freewheel burning" by Judas Priest ;-)

  • rainbow.....ass kicking tune!!!!

  • I love the song. If you actually listen to the intro of the solo, it is a bach progression. the guy knows what he's playing

  • Best video ever! Great bass playing too

  • im not well educated about 80's bands was ritchie copying slash's top hat thing or are they before no shit comments im a 60's person

  • @fonpenbull I believe Blackmore did it WAY before anyone ever heard of Slash. I know he wore a top hat on the Deep Purple Burn album, and that was 1974...

  • @DennisGW10 Actually, I think they guy in the top hat was David Coverdale.

    I could be wrong, though.

  • @NightmareSnake OK...since YouTube won't let you post website addresses, search for "Deep Purple No No No"; the first entry SHOULD be entitled "Deep Purple No No No (1971)". In that video, Blackmore wears the top hat...

  • @DennisGW10 ight thanks needed to know that

  • Led Zeppelin, Rainbow, Deep Purple, Motorhead, Whitesnake are the papas of hard rock!!!! long life to all'v'm!!!!!!

  • @uverapp67 And Black Sabbath!

  • @pollaris18 Yeah, man! You're right!! And Black Sabbath!

  • @uverapp67 you forgot URIAH HEEP :)

  • Crazy ass 80's video.I miss these videos's so much.I see this on metal mania all the time. Why did Rainbow break up in the first place?

  • @sammys70 because Deep Purple were getting back together. Blackmore decided to end Rainbow when he got the call about the reunion.

  • Ritchie -- always missing notes and falling behind. Yeah, right. The classically trained madman is on it. He wouldn't have it any other way, as many have learned.

  • such a mediocre tune but it holds one of the greatest solos i have ever heard! so ahead of it's time and perfect

  • Great song, and Blackmore's playing is as always brilliant -:) - Eddie

  • AS for JLT haters you are just children who know only Britney, Christina and some poor quality emo acts. JLT is a phenomenal singer. One the best singers in rock.

  • great video& band

  • Shitty video! Turner is gay! Song is good but old Rainbow with Dio is much better than this!

  • @Godza1602 He looks a bit camp but is he really gay? I don´t like his singing very much.I like the songs from thid period, and his voice fits them, but his not one of my favourite singers. I liked Dougie White in Rainbow, or Dio, but not so much the songs.

  • @Godza1602 don't see it fucking retarded

  • @chikisan his dads gay

  • @krls1966 i la bateria entera!!!

  • OMG.!!!!! This has to be the worst Rainbow Vid EVER.!!!! LOL... Although i have to admit the song is good.. But. WTF./??? Ritchie with that silly hat ( who is he .?? Slash's Dad ) ??? And i don't know what's worse. That lame old AMF sportster or. the 1930's car chasing it... Were they serious..?? ( or just that drunk when they made this )... Well but not to worry... Joe Turner still love's himself in the vid.. Wow...

  • RexCars1, OMG!?! really!? sadly nobody gives a fuck!!! WTF WOW!?!?!?!

  • Kinda got that Fire in the basement sound...GREAT!

  • Kinda got that Fire in the basement sound ...GREAT!

  • I love this music and the voice of Joe Lynn Turner!

  • Cool Song......great guitar work from Richie like Highway star. Seems so much like an off shoot from highway star. Little pop rock version of Highway Star.

Yes, its Richie in the black top hat....punk lol...

Glover on bass cool as always...

Yeah why pick a Harley junker for racing.....get a Kawasaki Ninja or a BMW....

In fact I love to play that little Bach progression from Richie holding the high E as the hold.

  • Comment removed

  • Great song what a joke having a supid harley as the machine tho lol almost run faster

  • Crazy Joe Lynn Turner all wide eyed.. One of my favorites of all time

  • is that Blackmore in a top hat? lol

  • oh my god... *jumps into his motorbyke*

  • Joe Lynn Turner has sung Hey Hey Hockeytown 1997, along with Rainbow and Yngwie. Great song this one is

  • hahahahahha, what a gay video; what an awesome tune!!!

  • What has Joe Lynn Turner done besides Rainbow And Yngwie Malmsteen ?

  • he also did one album with Deep Purple

  • The awesomeness of this song make Blackmore's Night even more painful to be aware of.

  • Joe Lynn is a great singer, but some of the stuff he has done musically is beyond cheesy. See: the video to Endlessly.

  • Hello JLT ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Damn i didn't realise this video was back on! Last i knew WMG removed it. Excelent song.

  • yep, glad it is.

  • putain blackmore !! ma jeunesse, my youth!! ah ah !! rainbow je t aime !!!

    arnaud de france toulouse !!

  • the fist part of the guitar solo sounds like the acoustic intro to Dragonforce's 'Through The Fire And The Flames'. since i heard the D-force song back in 06 i always knew it saounded like a rainbow riff but coulnt remember the song. glad i have just found it :D. gotta love Rainbow :D

  • Great song.....

  • I had a Sportster (AMF) from that era and the brakes hardly worked so that is some brave riding on this video.

  • @felipingarate I can assure you Joe is not gay, but if he was, Id be more than happy to turn him straight

  • @felipingarate I can assure you Joe is not gay, but if he was, i'd be more than happy to turn him straight

  • @Spartan023AQworlds GAY OR NOT GAY SINGER IS GOOD NO PROBLEM FOR MY

  • Anyone know the year this video was made?

I used to play that arcade game in 1988 and i was shit hot on it back in the UK!

My ex mrs had Rainbows video the final cut or final vinyl? and we used to blast it out her grans place in 88/89! Great group!

  • @SG55OVCam The album came out in 1982....so I'm assuming the video came out around the same time......and, yeah, that game was hi-tech for it's time!!!

  • @blackmore7777fan in 82 it was hi tech but by 88 it wasnt

  • it's true, it was one of 3 Sega games which kept score with LED displays, and for a game made in 1981, it was a big deal (not to mention it's sit down cabinet boasting stereo sound)

  • 2:36 you call that a sweep arpeggio? Ha, I can only tap sweep arpeggios so I can't really talk but then again I don't use a pick so take that Ritchie Blackmore. Nice solo anyway.

  • yes video games and blackmore

  • bad ass solo!!!!!!!!

  • @burntheship one of my favorites......

  • whatever

  • Very cool singer.

  • I agree with you JLT is my legend I hope I can follow his footsteps.

  • @SelinaRocker

Why..do you want to be an over opinionated arrogant asshole too?

  • not I am not!!!

  • @SelinaRocker

    " Not I am not "?

Parlez vous anglais ...me old cocker ?

  • What?

  • Straight Between the Eyes. Flawless album. Best all around album since Long Live Rock and Roll. It was also the band's first album with Mercury/PolyGram in the US (sharing the same label with bands like Motorhead, Rush and Def Leppard at the time) after being on Polydor (who underpromoted the band in the US). Ironically, Polydor would re-issue the album Stateside after Rainbow's deal with Mercury ended.

  • Alright guys Death Alley Driver or Freewheel Burning. Both great speed tunes, and also have videos that contain bits of old video games.

  • Holy shit Ritchie Blackmore actually smiled at 1:44 I can't believe its a fucking miracle.

  • yea......he tore that solo up!!

  • @snakekramer He only smiles when he's about to kill someone. He does this with a face-melting solo.

  • @snakekramer

Hey bro, yeah Ritchie is more expressive (!) with a guitar; kinda introvert type but nicer than what people & media think. I had the chance to talk with him few times in France and Germany, very nice. He even has a laughter! I hope he will make us another Rainbow, since his minstrel thing comes to be such a bore to many.

  • @snakekramer afraid you're not right, friend, he smiled for the first time in 1984, when refused to shake hand to Ian Gillan in Perfect Stranger's video.. that must have been a major breakthrough for Ritchie.. I mean - to smile not to refuse to shake hand!....
