  • 'You Owe Me One' will also appear on The Visitors Deluxe Edition.

  • why are there 3 dislikes?!

  • you owe me two., abba. M

  • Funky awesome song haha!!!!! This is so catchy!

  • @thatbigdork Totally agree. It was on the B-Side of "Under Attack", but it should have been the main single. Sadly, they never performed it live- it would have been AWESOME if they had.

  • @verkaforever I bet the music video would've been totally cool too! Firda with her red hair and Agnetha wither her short, curly blonde hair ;)

  • They could do anything! This is wicked.

  • I love the kind of ironic undertone in the contrast betveen the funny/funky interpretetation and the mening of the lyrics. Its a very positiv and "look forward" number.

  • haora entiendo abba se significa a de ana frida y otra a de agnetha y b de benny y otra b de bjorn no soy gerardo soy la hija

  • Just ordered their songs in spanish.Had almost all of them, but not on cd.Love how Frida does it...Spanish is close to swedish in pronounciating.Someone shouted spanish being far from that.Try it! Jag kan tala svenska men älska på spanska.

  • I loooove this song : D <3

  • great song thankyou for the post

    *****

  • EXCELENTE

  • wish that last album would have been released-you owe me one,i am the city, the day before you came, just like that, cassandra-they were progressing into the 80s, and then it came to a close..........

  • I agree. ABBA's music would have continued to shape the sound of the 80s as it had the 70s. Still, we're very lucky we have "Chess" and the female solo albums.

  • Hi Parma71 ... I agree with you that Abba should've finished and released that last album. That's why I've dedicated my channel to COMPLETING Abba's 9th album. Give it a look and send in your choice. If B & B won't finish it, maybe we youtubers can. Best Regards, Ivy Smith (Ohio, USA)

  • @111U510N i agree

  • really never liked this song. it's I think actually a demo. such a pity to leave us with this as the last song....

  • One of the reasons as to why ABBA was so special & successful because they never wrote & sung a bad song

  • what do u call this then?

  • A masterpiece

  • @bladesmark2

Bjorn and Benny were perfectionists and if they weren't happy with a song they ditched it. So maybe they did write some bad songs but they were never released. Also depends what you mean by a 'bad' song. For example 'So Long' never made it onto the charts in Britain so is it a 'bad' song?

  • As i see it if ABBA did write a bad song then they'd re-write it for instance (Happy Hawaii - Why did it have to be me).I personally prefer their album tracks to their chart hits (maybe because thats what we hear all the time on the radio) i dunno.

  • One thing about ABBA is that they always wrote songs that you couldn't really categorize---each of their compositions was always highly original and melodic. To say this song is funk or disco or whatever is erroneous, because it's neither. It's unique, as all ABBA songs are. That's what makes ABBA so special and likable to millions.

  • More like egyptian actually... -.-

  • this is a great song, wonder why i haven't heard it before? :S

  • Frida belts this song out into all it's glory. Another fine piece of engineering by ABBA.

  • this song, fantastic i believe would have been part of the failed 9th album because of the breakup. My heart is still broken. Christian

  • Honestly I do not like this song. I like

Cassandra and The Day Before You

Came. But that is only my personal

    taste. :-)

  • This actually sounds like some of their music in the 70's (altho I know it came from the 80's) Back when they really sounded like they enjoyed the music so very much.

  • that is what made ABBA so irresistible for years - their apparent both care for each other and enjoyment that they took from performing - however once either or particularly both of those characteristics ceased the group could not maintain its validity

  • Really like the photo montage. Excellent choices beautifully presented. As for the song, the bounciest "shine on" song I've ever heard. Luv it!

  • a ha um hm look wat u done i missin all the fun baby u owe me one<33333

  • I love this song! The melody is happy, but the lyrics is a little bit bitter. I wonder what does it mean? Does anybody have an idea?:)

  • She wanted to go out and party but her man was strangling her with 'love', she's cut the relationship, and is now saying "you owe me one" for making her miss her big love chances

  • @harpsicello There's a bit of how each member was feeling about the group as a whole when this song was recorded. Granted, Bjorn wrote it but he had a way, especially at the end, of capturing the feelings of the group and its individual members. As a group this is one of the last songs recorded and they are getting ready to go off into other directions with solo albums (girls), and musicals for the guys.

  • @harpsicello I think the relationship is going through a tough patch and she wants to go away for a break.

  • Great song, great job with the pic's.. thanks!

  • I was sooooo curious about this song and couldn't find it anywhere! thank u for posting, wow is really different from all the other songs, but it has that catchy melody as usual! love the chorus!

    ps: pics are great too

  • Karen it was the B-side to Under Attack, then turned up in the 4 disc box set a few years ago

  • Any song composed by ABBA is great. If this song was put on the radio today out of the blue then everyone would probably say ABBA. I think quite a few people would actually like this song even if they weren't ABBA fans.

  • Any idea which album this is from?

  • It wasn't put on an officially released album, it was a B side to Under Attack in 1981-82? I can't remember, but it's not on any of ABBA's official albums, though it is a bonus track on The Visitors today

  • @Joeluvsagnetha It was supposed to be on Opus 10(as it is said in their 1st box set), their 9th album, along with The Day Before You Came, Cassandra, Under Attack, Just Like That, and I Am The City but then the group disbanded so the album was never released(how sad). Whenever I think their sad ending, I wish they were still here, playing.

  • @PokeDigiSingingFan Yes, this is very true. I will add though, that their ninth album was not going to be called "Opus 10", this is just a name that was given to it by reporters.

  • @Joeluvsagnetha it was never reliesd in the big albums, it was one of their last songs

  • @Sitkan16Abba That's exactly what I said, it wasn't released on any of the studio albums. It was intended to be on their ninth studio album, which never ended up being created. It was, however the B-Side to Under Attack and was released in the "Thank You For the Music" Box Set, and is now a bonus track on "The Visitors" in CD form.

  • i love this song makes me happy!!!

  • (for xr8ek) The song "The Day Before You Came", for some people, would indeed need a number of passes before its could be appreciated. Please listen to it a few times more. Listen to the lyrics --it's a modern poetry.

  • @justanaquita Very true. I didn't care for TDBYC when it was first released in '82 and now I agree with many others that this song is a classic. Nobody has done anything quite like it before or since.

  • (for jojorodrigues) Yes!. This song reminds me back when I was a grader running in the school yard. But it is nice. This simply proves ABBA's

broad grasp of their art. Not bad --far from being worse...

  • ok its your opinion and i have to respect it.

    piece

  • Oh, I've never heard this before. The chorus is great.

  • It's different, that's for sure! : )

  • One of my favorite Abba songs. I've got it as a 'B' side on a 45 r.p.m. viyl single.

  • I like how Frida is using her voice in some parts of that song like she used it in the visitors (the song), then i like backing vocals, it's clever, and of course nice oriental feeling at the beginning of the song. GREAT! Sometimes i think that hard core top hit One Night in Bangok is developed by BB partly using some ideas from You Owe Me One.

  • Is this on CD somewhere?

  • I'm not sure, but I downloaded it from lime wire. I had to look for it, but i finally found it.

  • Yes, it's on the Complete Studio recordings set (Disc 8) and the Thank You For the Music set also

  • do you want to have a copy of this song? you can download it for free.. Ü. Im not kidding.

  • It's available on the 4-CD set 'ABBA-Thank

    You For The Music' ( Polydor 31452 3472-2 )

  • Yes, it is included in the 4 disc boxset called "Abba Thank you for the music"

  • I love this song, It's very catchy!

  • sounds like like it could do for a little kiddies show lol, still funky tho !

  • Good song!

  • such a hip bouncy song:)

  • i love it :)
