  • i have one of these. after 18 months the visor ratchet system has failed and it only stays fully open or shut. nothing in between. it mists up terribly and is completely dangerous. i now have a proper helmet; a Shoei XR1000. i'll never buy a Caberg again

  • well I got one after your review, great lid for the price £87. quality is not bad, not that of my AGV s4. its a noisy lid even with ear plugs in at high speed, I use mine for City riding as it handy. You feel like you have a much better veiw with the shape of the visor.....Overall I'm happy with it its a good lid fora good price and it has 5star rating in the sharp tests.

  • great review...well done.

  • Thanks for the Video. Great review, as I am looking to buy one. The info you have provided has convinced me.

    Thanks for featuring the helmet

    Glen

  • I bought this helmet thinking it was safe a car pulled out infront of me in which knocked me off my motorcycle I landed face first on the road forcing the button to open my visor I broke my jaw, nose and was in intensive care for several months after resulting in £25,000 face reconstruction surgery. I informed caberg and they refused compensation I took them to court and lost more money I do not recomend this helmet to anyone who cares about the safety of themselves.

  • Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, it's impossible to determine if a different brand or type of helmet or a full-face helmet would have provided more protection or less...

  • I don't believe you, photos or it never happened.

  • worn this helmet for a year now, no problems at all! No condensation at ALL, this is a big thing seeing I live in Scotland!

  • I have this helmet. Internal sun visor always touching my nose - it's not comfortable :/

  • worn this helmet for 10 months, very comfortable and it doesnt leak in the rain! condensation problem? never experienced it. internal sun visors fantastic in dusk ride when the suns just in your eyes. When its hot open your visor a little cool are rushing in sors the hot head but it does get noisey! tried other brands havent found one that beats it yet!

  • Kat Shah Alam Abg Wan orang yang pertama pakai Helmet Caberg Rhino ni. Very cool and stylish.Macam bawa jet pejuang pulak.

  • Could not have asked for a more informative review on the site, and this is a great vid. Thanks a lot for the time and effort :). I just bought one new for £85 - can't wait for it to get delivered.

  • Thanks, glad we could help! Sounds like you got a steal...

  • I checked out this helmet today in store (I'm getting my first bike soon) and I was impressed. I know it's probably just me cos I've never had a helmet before, but this thing was awesome. It was comfortable, stylish and so easy to use with gloves on. I was especially impressed with the flip mechanism, which I had never seen before. The flip mechanism is also very handy as I wear glasses and helmets I had tried previously were problematic but this. This was great. Definately going to buy Caberg!

  • Glad to hear it, I sold mine in the annual webBikeWorld spring garage sale and I'm now sorry I did, it's one of the best flip-ups out there!

  • Great review on the Caberg Trip on your website btw. I checked it out last night and I want to get it even more now. I'm going in to town today to get all my gear, still no bike however lol. How bad is this water seepage through the visor in bad weather? Will it happen in a light shower or does in have to be a proper downpour?

  • Good question - most helmets leak, some worse than others. Perhaps some owners can comment on leakage in the Caberg Trip during a rain storm?

  • Just bought the helmet today. Very pleased with the quality. We've got a few storms due the next few days so I'll test it out then.

  • look like my paintball helmit

  • Nice framerate.

  • This helmet just got 5 stars in the recent flip lid SHARP helmet safety tests...

  • One of only two system helmets that got 5 stars! And the flip front stayed completely shut in 90% of impacts. Which is the bit that has always worried me most about flip front helmets. To better it you have to spend £280 on a BMW helmet which stays closed 100% of the time.

  • the alcohol rub and washing with mild soap and water got rid of 90% of the condensation issue. Thanks for the follow-up tiy :)

  • Just received mine today and wore it into work tonight.. Found the fit neat to tight but comfy. I found the visor fogged up a bit and also seemed hazy in the glare of oncoming lights.. Any reccommendations for cleaning this??.. Ps thanks for review, very helpful

  • We just posted an article about this, apparently some visors are fogged or have haze from the mold release agents used in production. It's important to clean the visor first, especially the inside, and some rubbing alcohol should be ok to use occasionally on a polycarbonate visor without damaging it. Clean the inside thoroughly and it should remove the release agents and a super-clean visor should also help prevent fogging.

  • Name of article or link?

  • Interesting review, pity about the sound. I'm just about to buy one of these (I'm in the UK) and greatly appreciate this video. Great job!

  • The video is right on and I agree with Skazzious about the strap being barely long enough. Mine fits comfortable but with no room to spare. Otherwise it's light, quiet, comfortable and the sunvisor works great. One of the few with in-between positioning. The anti fog works but if you ride in wet or damp areas, you still may get condensation.

  • The video was pretty might right on. If you're riding in very damp conditions you'll still get some condensation but the anti-fog works pretty well otherwise.

Skazzious is right about the straps. I actually like the snap-in design but wish they gave a bit more room. It's very rare that it binds me so I'm comfy 99% of the time.

  • Love the review I have had one of these for going on 3 weeks now but only started wearing it this morning as my classico strap snapped going down a road at speed.

I love the helmet although it is pretty tight to begin with, Also have you noticed that the strap is quite lacking as far as adjustments go. I have adjusted it as far as i can and i swear it will choke me in certain positions

  • Yes, and this is why we like the plain old proven and simple D-ring adjustment straps instead!

  • Thank you for this excellent review.

  • I ordered one from the UK based on your review and comments on the ADV rider site.

  • Glad we could help - please let us know how you like it after you've tried it? Thanks...

  • I love your site. How do you pay for it and do you need funding?? if we riders can help with anything just let us know.... Keep up the Great work.........

  • Thanks very much - your feedback is greatly appreciated!

  • great reviews. man, I'm a webbikeworld follower now. great lids. different.
