  • @RSTBADBOY

Very true. Almost all euopean fords are designed in Laindon in essex in England. Thats the Ford Dunton technical centre. All the RS's and ford cosworths are english designed and most of them also built in england, although these days it's all done in germany. English ford couldnt be more differnt to american ford even if american ford had the brains to release them.

  • the turbo is quite far from the mani., dont suppose you know how much the block and crank can handle hp wise do you ? jsut wondering if its worth resleeving is all

  • hi what inlet is that your useing ?

    thanks

  • lovely exhaust manifold, r there 2 bolts missing one the front side?

what pistons did u use to lower compression or did u machine head?

  • @tpvalley

Maching the head or decking the block face only highers compression [obviously]

You need to machine the piston crowns in order to lower compression, you can be such a thing as a decompression plate but it goes between 2 headgaskets and 2 headgaskets as aposed to 1 is a no brainer, never will i use a decompression plate.

  • @LIP15

obviously machining the face or deck raises CR!

    combustion chambers can be machines.

I have even seen engines with small depth holes drilled to lower the CR such as ford DI turbos.

  • sounds like a bag of shit, you got the HT leads on the right order ?

  • what gearbox is that ?

  • @skaterdudet32, you're right it does, the clutch release bearing was the source of the rattle, not the engine.

  • Is that the 1.8L Mazda BP motor?

  • @killerboogy69

No it's a 2 litre Ford Zetec engine which has been modified to turbo.

  • @killerboogy69

    LOLOLOLOL

  • wth is a "forged engine"? I am pretty engine saavy and I have never heard this term?

  • Forged pistons and forged steel conrods, and if you have a bit more spare cash a steel crank.

  • @SausageArm use the 2.3 crank out of a galaxy thts wot i did

  • Forged engine parts to ensure the safety of the engine when installing a turbo.

Such as forged pistons, rods, crank, cam, etc. Stronger studs. More and more stuff...

  • hi there eh a forged engine ...... its forged pistons, rods, sometimes even crank shaft, there one of thee best makes out there, just like hks and other brands... i run a fully forged xvh in my rst(YY)

  • @drydian forged is a stronger type of metal rather than cast which is too weak to withstand high boost and really high rpm's. most modern engines come with forged rods, (ex. GM builds the lt1 and ls1 with forged rods which are called "pink" rods, they arent pink, they just called them that.) but they make forged rods, cranks, pistons, valves, pushrods, and other random parts. but to answer your question. when you see forged on anything, it means a stronger metal to withstand more stress.

  • a standard unmodified Rover intake manifold would cost around £40. The throttle body is from a 1992 Ford Fiesta RS Turbo. I know a Rover breakers in my local area, i could get a price for a manifold from him, maybe he could send it to you. His details are... Rover Used Parts Specialists Unit 3 /Castle House Dunn Street Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear, NE4 7AL Egland. Tel. 0191 273 4733
  • in america.the focus does not have a fuel return line. in europe they do. strange......

how much would it cost for the intake manifold? how much for the adaptor plates?what year focus rs is the throttle body from? i would be interested in the intake manifold. is there anyway u could find out for me? is there any better flowing intake manifolds for the focus out there?

  • i have a friend who sells emerald over here in florida. how is it on your car? did u run a fuel return setup on the car yet?

  • What do you mean by fuel return setup?

Its not my car its a mates, i just helped with the fabrication work, engine build etc, the Emerald seems to be doing a nice job of looking after everything, he's happy with it anyway.

  • how much for one? how much trouble is it to make it work? what about the throttle body?

  • its not too difficult to modify it to fit the zetec engine, you can actually buy (in england) adaptor plates that go between the manifold and cylinder head to allow it to bolt straight on. This one has had the rover flange cut off and a for flange welded on and machined flat.

The throttle body is from a fiesta rs turbo, the neck of the rover manifold was cut off and a square plate of aluminium was welded in place, and relevant holes were drilled and tapped to allow the throttle body to mount.

  • what intake manifold is that one from? i have the usa spec 2.0 ztec motor. the intake is nothing like that.

  • it's from a Rover M16 engine, the ports match with the zetec head very well and it flows a lot better than the standard zetec inlet manifold, but its not a direct fit it needs customising.

  • nice setup mate, good choice with the manifolds, how much bhp and torque you running?

  • it's my mates car... he needs the mapping finishing properly, its only been done to 9psi unfortunately, where it made 200bhp 220lbft on the Dave Walker's (Emerald) r/r.

It'll be going back next year for the mapping to be finished, he's hoping to make 280-300bhp.

  • for long time ago there where a turbokit for the zetec ...it was to expensive (4000euro)...but now i build a golf mk2 ...vr6 turboengine with more than 300ps..=)

  • geile kiste...You are from great britian ,right?

You can be so happy. Here in germany its so hard to pimp the car.And a zetec turbo dosent exist.

Great!!!!i want to be a inselaffe

  • Just make it yourself mate. It isnt that hard.

  • Do you know a site for escort turbo engines?...Please?
