I love Norwegian nature. I wish the Norwegian people were a more rugged and freedom loving people, though. The central government has such a high concentration of power, at the cost of the individual "states" (fylker and kommuner). There's also so many "nanny" regulations, and such a bloated welfare state, that breaks down the Norwegians' sense of independence and self-reliance.

At least Norway isn't part of the European Union; that's a very redeeming quality.

@wswolf12 Please visit Norway, but don't speak German while you're here. There is hardly a soul in this country that doesn't understand English. Our language is only *distantly* related to German.

As for your plans to possibly live here, I wouldn't bet on it. Without speaking fluent Norwegian, like a native, you're not likely to get a job. That's a legal prerequisite for moving here at all. No work, no visa. Never mind social inclusion.

@MrStakePowered I'd call it another version of the the western norwegian, along the Sogne Fjord, where a lot of the population left for Iceland. The rest of the norwegian dialects are very different. When I hear icelandic, it's like I almost can understand it, cause it's very simulair to my dialect. Though a version with a lot more letters in each words. It's facinating :)

My advice is to stay away from the big cities (specially Oslo) because it's flooded with wierdos who are too mentally ill to be put in jail and too mentally healthy too be commited into psychiatricwards, so they just run free.

It's probably a great country for roadtripping but the standard on the roads are even worse than Kenya, Ha ha.
