I agree and have very similar opinions in almost all areas, but in this area I am the complete opposite. When me and my friends go to the football field (from Europe, so it's what americans call soccer) we normally play for fun. However, sometimes we play against people we've never met before, when that happens I normally say I don't bother. The reason being that I run more and harder than my body can handle because I hate letting the other team win over me and my team.

That really was a moving story, made me a little misty. I have a very similar background; parents were much older than the average age for parents and they always encouraged me to be myself.

It sucks; the world isn't usually kind to people who don't remember scores or cry on cue.

My parents are the same way!!! I can't remember the scores I got for any sport except for a first place trophy I recieved in a Martial Arts tournament. Aside from that, I can't remember what my scores were in volleyball, soccer, or in The 1991 Santa Cruz Open Frisbee Competition.. I just look at these things as something fun to do and not beyond that. Once I do that it no longer stays very enjoyable to me at least.....
