  • Haven't heard this album in over 5 years, and 3:50 just fucked my face so hard.

  • Favourite Dream Theater song :)

  • great, now I have to go search for redvrzach2009's stupid comment

  • I honestly do not know what all the fuss is about in the comments of this song. But all I know is, I love this song. I grew up listening to this band ever since I was born. I am only 15, but I own every single album, INCLUDING their newest album dramatic turn of events.

  • All of their song is a beast.

  • 6:00 - 6:49 EARGASM

  • @imDi4bLo for years i've been thinking the same thing...epic.

  • i jizz when i listen to the solo. just sayin

  • @jtjtp1 dude im a gilr and i would jizz to the solo in this lol

  • You know the song is epic when John Myung actually does write the lyrics.

  • Labrie couldn't put his daughter to sleep last night. It was a "cradle tragedy."

  • @MlKEPORNTOY This assholes real name is DAVID DOLLINAR. He's been trolling DT fans for years and posts identical comments on Facebook. Please flag his channel for trolling and impersonating Mike Portnoy.

  • @MIKEPORNTOYsucks i say who cares i mean he's annoying but at the same time kind of fun to have around. also did you make a channel just for that?

  • @MlKEPORNTOY I love DT but i love ur comments at the same time. a lot of them are pretty funny haha

  • They were unable to serve Charlie Dominici at the soup kitchen last night. It was a "ladle tragedy."

  • Rudess was unable to celebrate Hanukkah this year. It was a "dreidel tragedy."

  • @MlKEPORNTOY Lolololol

  • @CSXVIII Like DX would say in this moments: S*ck it!!!!!!!!!!! .l.

  • Lyrics by John Myung. And I'm not even kidding

  • @CSXVIII shut the fuck up. this is real music.

  • Is it just me or is the riff on 6:00 amazing!?!?

  • 4:21 - 4:29 Dat riff.

  • This song needs to be played at my funeral, as my death will be of the utmost tragic of fatalities.

  • @ThErEdShArOn Your name's not Victoria, or is it?

  • @MrDreamTheater1 shut up. if you want emo go check out escapee the fate or any of tose gay poser bands

  • @diegomanx321 None of those bands would be emo. At all. They might think they are though.

  • @diegomanx321 poser band haha oh wow

  • HOLY FUCKING SHIT GUYS!!!!!!! TERRY BROWN IS THE FUCKING HYPNOTHERAPIST!!!! HE PRODUCED MOST OF RUSH'S EARLY ALBUMS, FROM FLY BY NIGHT TO MOVING PICTURES!!!!!!! OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!! 8D

  • 6:42 "Now, it is time to see how you died. Remember that death is not the end, but only a tran...-" *A tran-what? Transvestite? Wait, no, that's stupid. A transfer of inheritance money to your grandchildren! Makes perfect sense!* :B

  • @deafghost52 transition :P

  • @nobodyiixgr -_- had to ruin it, didn't ya?...

  • Why emo? This song is awesome

  • @MrDreamTheater1 emo song?

  • @MrDreamTheater1 ....wait, what...?

  • @MrMerafta why you.. what?

  • If the riff from 4:21 - 4:29 was a potato, it would be the best fucking potato that ever existed.

  • Honeslty that ending solo and Jump in the Fire's ending solo by Metallica are just TOO DAMN GOOD!

  • la amo

  • eu tenho esse cd.eu não meu tio mas eu escuto sempre rsrsrs mt manero

  • Fatal Tragedy was my very first taste of DT. Purchased the album not long after, and used to stay up late listening to it in its entirety. Still to this day remains one of my top records of all time.

  • These songs were the shit, most of the new stuff is just terrible metal. GO BACK TO THE OLD STUFF! Or get Kevin Moore back.( I know he wasn't on this album)

  • wake up nicholas!

  • 1000% happy metal..

  • Repetitive? pop may be repetitive, but progressive? rly, let's troll in another place xDD

  • Victoria killed 14 people before she left forever.

  • Is that Vin Diesel on the front cover? :)

  • @kvarbanov Looks more like Edward Norton from where I'm looking.

  • @kvarbanov actually, I think it's Michael Cera...or Jamie Bell, whatever. :P

  • fuck you, dreamtheater for being so inhuman.

  • Rly man, people are crazy here! All the songs of DT were the same? Are you f*cking kidding me?

  • @rachaSka This song is from a concept album with the theme reoccurring throughout the whole album, they're all similar

  • @dreamtheater142 what i've meant is not only this cd and its tracks but all of their songs sound the same to me....

  • @rachaSka

Pull the dicks out of your ears they are messing with your tone perception.

  • @dreamtheater142 Um this is a real album and it is all about one song and there is like 10-12 tracks not a concept for gods sake it went platinum. And if you bought images and words there was a song called metropolis part 1 the miracle and the saint. After that album came out in stores they said there would be a album that had the other parts and here you go it has part 2 which is it great album if you don't have it go get it !

  • @redvrszach2009 What are you saying? A concept album is an album that follows a particular story line like the wall from pink floyd and queensryche's operation mindcrime..its not whatever you tried to say in that poorly made comment

  • @redvrszach2009 and by the way, if you bought images and words, youd know its metropolis part 1: the mirical and the SLEEPER

  • @dreamtheater142 metropolis pt.1: the MIRACLE and the sleeper

  • @dreamtheater142 Well, I never bought Images and Words, but I know that the track five it calls "Metropolis part 1: The MIRACLE and the sleeper".. Also I know that they actually made a song that were call "Metropolis part 2", that should have been in their fourth disc named "Stream of Consciousness" in 1996..

  • @redvrszach2009 its the miracle and the sleeper not the saint

  • @redvrszach2009 and also the album that was teh original concept album was called a change of seasons. that was the original metropolis part 2 concept. mike portnoy wrote almost the entire 8 part song. and it was changed to its own album because it didnt relate enough to metropolis part 1. scenes from a memory came along and thus the "concept" was reborn.

  • If you don't have anything good to say, just don't say anything at all! No one forced you to listen to this song, anyway. Go ahead and listen to whatever stupid nu bullshit you like and give us a break.

  • @rachaSka Clearly you have zero appreciation for talented musicians. To a trained musical ear, Dream Theater is on the same level as Gods.

  • @AidWoW did you read what i wrote??....i said they are talented but to me it sounds repetitive....they are amazing musicians but...well i said it already

  • @rachaSka You're starting to sound like a hater.Who really likes Dream Theater and good music would never say they sound repetitive.Every DT album is unique. If you really think they sound the same you don't have ears.

  • @Bl1tzkr139 im no hater dude, you need to learn the difference between a hater and a simple opinion cause im not hating on DT, a hater would not recognize that those guys have talent like i did...i just gave my opinion....thats the difference!!! a hater would only come and throw shit by saying that these guys suck or whatever...you have to learn how to read properlly!!! troll!!

  • @rachaSka I saw that you like Metallica, and look, i like them too, but they are WAY more repetitive than Dream Theater. I really don't understand how a band that has songs like Learning to live, A change of seasons, Home, The Glass Prison, In the name of god, Octavarium and so many others can be considered "repetitive". It would be impossible for a repetitive band to make a 10+ minutes long song, and they have countless songs like that.

  • @Fezek0 well i'll tell you why......BECAUSE ITS MY FUCKING OPINION!!!!! THATS WHY!!! i can think whatever the hell i want...why do you fanboys have to come up bashing at me!!! i didnt even said they suck!! i said FOR ME they are repetitivE!!! nuff said!!!

  • @rachaSka Dude, obviously it's your opinion, no need to tell us that. Thing is, sometimes you should explain and reinforce your opinion with good arguments so that people can understand your precious opinion easily and don't bash you for saying what you want. You may call me a fanboy, I may call you a hater then, ok? Hater.

  • @Fezek0 omg shall i explain the difference between a hater and and opinion???...read 3 comments above this one....im no hater!!!

  • @rachaSka As far as I know, haters tend to talk what they want without justifying their opinion just to "troll" or "seem cool", and that's exactly what you did. If you don't want people replying to you calling you hater or whatever, start basing your opinions or just don't comment at all.

  • @Fezek0 ohhhh fuck off....im done wth this shit !!!

    1im not trolling

2 i dont want to seem cool...im already cool and i dont need this bullshit

3 fanboys like you tend to bash and whoever has a different opinion than yours

4 i like DT but some songs (read carefully please) FOR ME sound repetitive

so i hope this explains it.....

  • @rachaSka Seriously, I don't understand why you are so angry. Anyway, if you're saying that you're already "cool" and that I'm bashing your opinion (even if I didn't criticize it at all) then we're cool. I understand that you can't explain your opinion (maybe because it's feigned) and therefore I shouldn't take you seriously. Cheers.

  • @rachaSka and if i were hating on DT i would just come up and talk bullshit i didnt do that

  • @rachaSka Listen other albums..this is an album that repristents a whole song.every song is contiouing the first one :P

  • You gotta be kidding me!

  • @A7X4evrr no,im not why??...problem??

  • They are not repetitive Maybe the form of the songs but not the songs.

  • @A7X4evrr dude, get over it....its been a month since i posted that....

  • @rachaSka That's the point in a concept album, they're made like a movie soundtrack... If you're talking in general you should listen to more songs coz it's really the opposite ;)

  • @rachaSka Listen harder. Their songs do not sound all the same. Or it just might not be your cup of tea. For example I'm sure a lot of prog rock fans might consider dance music like Trance to sound the same. Well... it doesn't. Just might be something you don't enjoy listening to.

  • Holy shit I have my screen at 1% zoom this is weird

  • ..sition

  • best part when drums were getting for real 3:55 :)

  • Took me years and years and years to recognise the jam section (3:50) as one of the very best bits of the album, but I got there in the end! It's truly miraculous stuff.

  • @warriornsurvivor So fast means meaningless? I'd say thats pretty inaccurate

  • @dreamtheater142 I think that point is a epic bridge too another epic part of this song :)

Big thumbs up for people like you uploading songs like this so I should know if I should buy albums off a band. Defenitly gonna buy this some day :)

  • @dreamtheater142 No point in arguing with people who don't understand prog. That's like showing Salvador Dali paintings to a kindergartener drawing stick figures.

  • @dreamtheater142 he didn't say that. He said "they do the same...meaningless fast playing" in other words, their fast playing is meaningless not that all fast playing is meaningless.

  • @olabaz the meaning is different for each person!!! It maybe be meaningless for you guyz but for me the progressive parts of the whole album have much more meaning than the lyrics!!!

  • @johnnyangel88 I don't agree that their music is meaningless either; I was just stating that the comment was misinterpreted

  • @dreamtheater142 , well, fast does not mean meaning less of course..what i meant is like i was expecting a touchy solo like "lines in the sand" with this song ...a more melodious ending like first 4 min....IMO..of course i am a fan of dream theater...

  • @warriornsurvivor after that.. the best part begins!!

  • @warriornsurvivor I'll tell you whats happening. Its basically your little mind not being able to comprehend progressive music with the complex riffs, odd time signatures and exotic effects, pal. I think Bieber would be perfect for you.

  • @MrDuckFuk amen brother

  • @warriornsurvivor What the fuck kind of dance music do you listen to? If there was dance music like this I would be the biggest fan of dance music.

  • @joanim impossible to dance to DT. i tried, i failed all 2 seconds cause i lost the time signature and was too busy concentrating on the music.

  • sick to play on guitar! *.*

  • crazy solo ..

  • "Now it is time to see how you died. Remember that death

is not the end but only a transition."

  • 4:21 - 4:29

WARNING: Headbanging in this section may cause serious whiplash.

  • The break and everything that comes after 3:50 is just sheer fuckin brilliance and hardcore musicianship at the same time.

Eat that, you silly 3 chord-pussies

  • Kevin Moore is very good.

Derek Sherinian was a good second but he was doing awesomesauce with Planet X afterwards.

Check em out if you like

  • Mike Portnoy

  • I felt the urge of listening to this song everyday because of the part from 2:05 to 2:52

    Drum work is amazing

  • Starting from 6:00 until the end is, in my opinion, one of the most awesome moments in history of music.

  • @SpaceDyeDream Quoted for motherfucking truth. That whole ending is just fucking intense and brilliant.

  • 3:50 EPIC MODE INITIATED

  • the shrink and grow section is awesome

  • addicted to this song

  • I'm using this song to purge soulja boy from my mind.

  • Lyrics by Mr. John Myung!

  • @waltervt he's my favorite :)

  • @waltervt

Myung is more better song writer than Petrucci and Portnoy!!

  • BUT ONLY A TRANN

  • Lyrics By John Myung :) He put a very deep emotion, epic story line, and poetic phrase on every song he wrote for DT,

  • Coca-cola

  • Has to be one of their best songs ever

  • "Remember that death is not he end, but only a transition"

  • Me and my dad listened to this whole album while doing yard work for some guy. Best 2 days evar!

  • seprahon tika >:)

  • At 2:24 theres a Dream Theater beatdown riff.

  • love this solo

  • Lyrics by John Myung

  • Did dream theater start recording their new album with Mangini yet?

  • @abortionsrock lol it comes out in a few weeks.

  • @abortionsrock Its out in like 3 weeks

  • @TriviumCroBFMV Mike Mangini full of technique..but not as agressive as mike portnoy..maybe Mangini needs some time to show his true fangs..yeah

  • @MyMytalMajesty Lol i think he was just flaming :p

  • How is the new drummer called?

  • Lyrics: John Muyng

  • Without love, without truth, YOU CAN EAT MY ASS AND BALLS!

  • The part (I think it's the chorus - can be hard to tell in DT songs lol) from 3:26 to 3:47 is so powerful... The instrumental section is beast too - I love how a lot of songs on the album musically connect to each other.

  • at 4:20 it sounds exactly like one part of Dance of Eternity.

does this mean that DT plagiarized...

    THEMSELVES?!?

  • @chizchizchiz It sounds exactly the same because the whole album is made with a concept, so melodies and motifs are used for several songs. That's why they are a PROGRESSIVE band because the same melodies are often used but in a different way. Hope this helps you

  • @chizchizchiz Dance of Eternity is on the same album and DT loves to use "some" parts of other songs on the album in other songs as well. It makes a flow from 1 song to the next especially since they are usually all so long.

  • @chizchizchiz this album is a heavily narrative album and i think the idea is basically to give you a premonition of things to come. kind of how you would in a story in a book or movie.

  • My favorite part is at 6:00 to 6:28

  • @4:22 - @4:30 the keyboard makes that part sound EPIC!

  • Holy fuck at the instrumental section!

  • God what a powerful song !

  • Mike Portnoy .....1....please back to DT PLEASE!!!!!!

  • i was searching for another band..but i ended here..i never thought i was going to find such an awesome song .. yay!! :D

  • I saw this live a few days ago! and let me tell you i haven't spotted any diference whatsoever!

  • Comment removed

  • Fucking A!!! Yeeeeeeeah!! Give me that shit!!!!!!!!!!! I'm fucking dancing on my head!!!

  • masterpiece

  • Ah, Lyrics by John Myung ... I'm surprised no one ever noticed ...

  • I think my brain melted at that guitar and keyboard solo at 3:50 - 6:40

  • nice ....

    proggresive rock .....

  • this album is good

  • instrumentally the second part of that song is where Dream Theater are at their prime, pure bliss.

  • john petrucci!!!>Mike portnoy

  • Best Album and best Song from Dream Theater.

  • @Rockleefan3 What album is that?

  • @oink47oink

    "Metropolis Pt.2: Scenes From A Memory" :-)

  • @Rockleefan3 Okay thank you :)

  • one of the 5 best concept album ever!!!!!

  • Lyrics written by John Myung.

    No, seriously

  • musical massacre, 3:51 and on... Wow.

  • 1 st

  • 12 guys had a fatal tragedy
