  • ahhh man, his tone is so perfect!

  • Does anybody know what type of DS or OD pedal he's using here?

  • tab please

  • The 1st lick he plays I learned of his Hot Licks Video it & it helped get my alternate picking steady & up 2 speed.

  • whats he using to get those crazy bends on the paul vs. godzilla example?

  • @metalhead5554 I think at this time he was using a modified A/DA flanger but he uses an Ibanez Airplane Flanger now.

  • WTF!?!?

  • Fireman is soooo hot! Look at that sleek neck...! enabling him to play 10-15% faster, he said

  • that tone is awesome!!

thick with enough distortion to shred without making it sound muddy.

  • If I was a girl, I'd totally marry him!

Oh, wait... HE IS MARRIED :(

  • Not to mention the wood on that baaaaby (drools all over the place, reference to homer simpson)

  • 4:15

a little glimpse on the old school paul.

  • any tabs for these lessons`?

  • i like this fireman more than his signature

  • That's what a Fireman is dude.

  • FeelingShred, if you want to get better quality videos, play your video through VLC media player. It has a record button which saves the .mpeg to My Documents. It's so easy. I've uploaded a couple of Paul Gilbert and Buckethead videos this way in HQ.

  • ohhh... *puts guitar down* I guess I have no business here then.

  • I don't make mistakes i just suck on purpose some times.

  • iceman ftw :D

  • fireman actually. close though.

  • It's an older fireman model...not the one they actually released for him.

  • Fireman ftw ! =]

  • THE REVERSE ICEMAN!! THE FIREMAN!!!

  • monstruous sound

  • Norwegian Cowbell! I love that song!

  • Amazing :D

  • Im waiting for the day when I hear Paul make a mistake...lol.

    FRaKH

  • that day will never come, unless u get some recordings of when he first started playing lol

  • Actually, I have basement tape recordings of one of Paul's first bands when he was 15, it's actually quite depressing because it's still quite awesome and never makes any mistakes :(

  • lol hindu times

    ish

    lol

  • anyone can give me the note in norwegian cowbell intro plz

  • d....a.....d.d.d.d......g...d..aaaa.d..em.

  • suena parecido a una parte de damage control de petrucci

  • What's the song in Ex 4 ?! It's amazing, I wanna do that :P

  • its called "paul vs. Godzilla"

  • How does he get that effect on 4:41 ? With a whammy pedal?

  • Sorry, i meant 4:31

  • oh sheesh i just found out sorry xD

  • It is not a whammy pedal..It is a flanger pedal..

  • but you can do about the same thing with a whammy pedal to :P

  • whammy :digital, ADA flanger: Analog

  • 1:01, very AC/DC 'ish.

  • This made my day!

  • thanks this is just the video I needed!

  • i heard animate inanimate!

  • i also love the way he's just stood in his socks.

  • this guy will always be the best all around shredder

  • 1:00 - 1:45 = O.M.G. That is amazing.

  • it's a song, norweigan cowbell

  • 1:30 like song from petrucci's solo album.....

but i don't remeber of the title....

  • animate-inanimate i believe. And you're absolutely right :D

  • actually it's from a PG song, norweigan cowbell

  • damn i was really convinced he was using a whammy pedal, what a surprise.

  • there's not tabs for any of this is there? or even notes explaining what he does. man i hate figuring stuff out by ear... oh well.

  • YOU ARE RIGHT !!!!!!

  • best practice you can have

i know i havent got a good ear but training that is a useful tool my friend

  • the pedals he uses for that crazy sound is an old style electric mistress flanger and a TIP 3rd hand pedal in which is attached to the flanger, just saying incase you were wondering pppl

  • beg your pardon, the AD/A flanger original, dont gemme wrong thou he does use an E.M

  • gilbert or satch. both shit hot players carnt decide who is the better realy.

  • Hey guys what is the name of the piece he plays around 7.06 ?

It sounds so great, I want to learn it, so anyone know what it's called?

  • Thanks alot for these! It's fun staring into Paul's studio, and possibly learning his secrets! Pretty weird that Paul practices everything up to speed then slows down. Hmm....

    lol, JK!

  • i still cant believe how rad Gilby is,

like he is total win in comparrison to M.A.B that bitch aint got shit on Paul and his sweet tones

  • the chords for norweigen cowbell are D A

  • Norweigen? Norwegian? >:(

  • I prefer his Marshall tone. It sounds more raw than the Laney's I think.

  • Could someone PLEASE send me the intro chords for Norwegian Cowbell! The way Paul Gilbert does them! Thanks!

  • His tone is always so awesome.

  • I really dont like his marshall tone, I much prefer the tone he got with the Laneys..

  • Totally agree.

  • yes but here he's using a rack, not a marshall amplifier

  • fINAALLY i found how to get that weird noise. now. where to get that frickin pedal.

  • Its an expression pedal. easy to find

  • It's an ADA flanger pedal that's making the sound. They're not made anymore so they are very rare. You'll be spending $400 plus if you want one!!!

  • long live the greatest guitarist of all time. paul gilbert u are the man!

  • norwegian cowbell the greatest song off of silence followed by a deafening roar

  • all the songs are soo good though! how can you choose?

  • NO SHOES!!! Paul Gilbert is so frickin' awesome.

  • crazy flanger

  • its amazing how well he can perform his recorded songs and how it sounds identical to the songs on the record. not many studio tricks go into his songs, just crazy talent

  • paul the only one guitarist who grown up by time compare to vai and satriani or even malmsteen... he is not stays in ice age... long live paul

  • English, the only one fucking language that noone in the internet seems to speak...

    Sorry, no offense. Awesome vid!

  • best comment. thank you.

  • fucking picking !!

  • this guitar sounds more raw and thick compared to the pgm. cool post by the way!

  • that's because he has a much thicker nech i think.

  • it's because he's playing PAF pickups
