the cold sting winter...the ice jams, the 5 foot of snow. Scorching heat...105 degrees. Swamping rains to 70 mph straight line winds. Massive historial flooding, Tornadoes & flash floods. Why are we still here? THIS IS HOME. I went l.a. for 2 weeks...it was misting outside and i saw ppl running with thier umbrellas. I was standing on my balcony smokin a cigarette, and laughing. They got a trace of snow in the foothills.. Multiple car accidents and the town shutdown. i thought i could handle this

Because the iowa way isnt sittin around feelin sorry for yourself. Its about gettin up and dusting yourself off. We are iowans. we are strong, independant and caring. We will not let a flood get the best of us. we WILL REBUILD. and this town WILL be better than before,not because of the new buildings and houses, but because everyone here will remember that when push came to shove, We banded together to help our fellow neighbor.And we beat this. It did not beat us. Were are iowa and we are strong

no clothes, no food, no shelter..but you have internet? Look it happened to me too. I have lived here my entire life....But ive NEVER seen cedar rapids come together like it did here. This town was getting bad...People wouldnt stop to help change a tire anymore...Shootings...fights....Then this happens....Maybe sometimes we just need a reminder of what its like to come together as a community and help out again. Im devestated and so is everyone in this town. But im trying to stay positive.

our whole lives were taken away when the flood hit.

why would the punish poor inocent souls if god is a good guy? and btw for all the ppl that think this wasnt as bad as the hurracanes (sorry typo) it was i beleave it was 88 of iowa 90 counties are UNDER WATER
