The number 1 guy had great technique, superb phrasing and the melody at the start is very catchy and makes you want to listen even after he's done playing. The number 2 guy was also VERY good and could have easily won if he had focused more on melody and technique (seeing as thats what the judges look for in these contests) All three were very good, but gotta hand it to number 1 guy.

the second one was too technical and sounded too out-of-the-point of the song.

the third one was the right choice - like they said, every note was in place.

and he actually realized what the point of the playback was all about. plus he combined the right Technics and he used the right sound too.
